- The municipality of Spormaggiore, with its hamlets of Belfort, Fabbrica, Maurina, Meano, Sedriago and Seghe, has around 1,200 inhabitants. The municipal area stretches from the apple orchards of the Non Valley up to the high plateau of the Paganella, at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites.
The village is located at 565 m above sea level on a terraced hill at the entrance to the Val di Non. Spormaggiore can also be called the gateway to the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park, since it is here that the visitor center and the animal park "Orso, il Signore dei Boschi" ("The Bear, Lord of the Woods") are located. Also worth seeing are the ruins in the area and the well-preserved tower of Castel Belfort. The Lovara Cave near the Fausior hamlet, on the other hand, is a valuable testimony to the area's Ice Age past.
From Spormaggiore you can reach the Paganella ski area in just a few minutes, as well as the starting points for hikes and bike tours in the mountains of the Brenta Dolomites in summer.
