    Great video, congrats Jen ! I realize that the employment world has become this cat and mouse game where no one is really honest in their answers / questions. The fact that we need to "fit in" these kinds of answers just because it's "expected" is mind-bogling to me. It feels like trying to "beat the game" instead of really putting forward who we are and what we really like. Oh well, we gotta fit in anyways.

      Exactly what I keep saying. The labor market has turned us all into some deadbeat robots who have to keep stifling ourselves and brain just to fit into some specific "answers" they want to hear. It's insane and totally ba

    Thank you Jenn for these invaluable tips about how to respond to interview questions. I recently accepted a job offer, and I believe it is because of the information that you provide in this video that made the difference. Prior to watching this video, I went on interviews only to be turned down. I was confused as to why I didn't get the job. After watching this video, I took notes and thought more about the organization I was applying to. I also researched the organization online. As a result, I was able to feel more confident during the interview. I was happy to learn that I was selected for the position. Thank you for your support. It really helped me.

  • @RosePetal17

    This is very helpful but, because I tend to take jobs that I have experience in, yet have goals outside of these jobs, how can I answer the proverbial question: "Where do you see yourself in five years?" I have an interview for a part time receptionist position tomorrow, and though I do really like the fact that it is a company that focuses on wellness, I would actually like to take more writing courses, and I have goals to do something creative. I don't want to end up as a receptionist. For me, right now, I am taking survival jobs. Should I focus on my interest in the field of health, wellness and the healing arts?

    • @Indeed
      @Indeed  3 года назад +8

      Great question, Rose. For these "survival jobs," ask yourself what skills or experiences you might be acquiring from them that might help you in obtaining a career in your interests in the future. Then, in your answer you can focus on how you want to be in a future role or industry (without being specific) where you can utilize skill/experience X,Y, and Z, and how this job for which you are interviewing will allow you to acquire skill/experience X, Y, and Z. You can find more tips on answering this question here - indeedhi.re/3l4uYbw. -CC

    Perhaps by choosing a company with good values, it also be important to consider the ethical means to you which they aquire the funds to pay their accounts on time. It's one thing to reflect in a good way by paying suppliers and staff on time and another matter on the means of how the funds became available to make all the necessary payment.
    Just saying

    Someone once told me to try and turn the interview around - ask THEM lots of questions - people love to talk about themselves! They will like you for being interested in them and you actually avoided some of the harder questions. Right now I cannot answer the where do you see yourself in 5 years - RETIREMENT!

    • @BlutoBlutarsky
      @BlutoBlutarsky 2 года назад

      Same here on the '5 years' question. I feel that honesty is always best but at the same time I feel that I'm backed into a corner and a wrong answer could be severely limiting.

      I am on the interviewing path again after 3 years and although Jenn's vid is great and useful advice, I had forgotten about the little gem you mentioned! It's so true, if you go blank, asking them a question can give you time you take a deep breath and reset, and remember the answer you rehearsed so many times! This is true, people do love talking about themselves! Thanks?

    Now I realized why I never passed any interviews yet. Anyhow, Jesus died for your sins and He wants you to be with Him eternally in heaven for soon He will return as a judge and not as a Savior anymore. Jesus died for your sins and paid for you.
    You only have to repent and accept Him as your personal Savior and Lord.
    Romans 10:9
    If you declare/confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your whole heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.
    [ Say that loud on your prayer+ repent from your sins and accept Jesus in your heart ]
