- Thomas Cook trip report from East Midlands to Menorca onboard an Airbus A321 operated by Avion Express. First trip report from East Midlands airport and first trip report with Thomas Cook! 2 in 1! This is today's video!
As a first experience with Thomas Cook I must say that overall it was a nice experience. One thing that didn't like was the scratched windows (at least mine), though the rest of the plane was looking really good.
For this flight with Thomas Cook, I preordered food (breakfast) on the website. Do you think it was worth? I will let you check it by yourselves on the trip report.

I flew on the exact same plane on the same route , in the same seat on 28th June 2019 then back again on the 5th July 2019 , just days before this flight! I'm so glad to have found this video , very reminiscent

I was living in Castle Donington for 2-3 months while I was studying nearby. I miss a little flting from there, despite I did it just like 4-5 times.

Yeah, I remember flying on Thomas cook, It was my first holiday in May 2018, I came from Newcastle to Ibiza, Overall flight service 10/10, I remember going on holiday a year later in April 2019, there were less Thomas cook planes at Newcastle airport. Through COVID and all that, Last year I went on Holiday to Thessaloniki and I saw 0 Thomas cook planes. Turned out the airline had died and so I offer my condolences. RIP Thomas Cook

On the beach next to the airport I go to bathe and sunbathe in top less and thong, since the temperature and climate is very pleasant as if it were summer, on
average the temperature in winter is at 23 degrees and humidity slightly more than 30%, it is very pleasant heat without being humid or embarrassing, the time is the
same as in your country United Kingdom
I always travel in winter since it is low season and there are good deals on flights
I flew with thomas cook in 2013 and 2014 both cracking experiences

Hermosa app a Menorca, tiene un sabor especial para mi ver aterrizajes en cualquiera de las islas Baleares o de las Canarias (y eso que nunca he volado a esas islas, hasta ahora!!) , por sus paisajes que rodean los aeropuertos y por la belleza de las costas. Muy buen reporte, espero algún dia volar en Thomas Cook quizá a una de esas islas. Seguiré viendo videitos este día Domingo, saludos y un abrazo desde las heladas tierras Chilenas.

In Lanzarote we have the beach right at the head of the track of airport and we have a very privileged view to take pictures

When I am on vacation on Thursdays, Tuesdays and Saturdays I go to the beach and take the opportunity to take pictures of the airplanes while sunbathing topless

Only got to fly Thomas Cook once (well twice it you include the return flight). Flew Gatwick - Reus - Gatwick on 757-200 (G-FCLD / G-FCLF) back in 2011. Great cabin crew but the tightest seat pitch of any flight I'd been on (chunky seats). Shame they are no more though.
I really miss Thomas Cook. It wasn't my favourite airline, to be honest, I would put it always behind Jet2 and TUI UK, but now that they are not flyign anymore, I really miss having always a third option... So sad that they are not here anymore... =(

@@OnBoardHD I flew with them in 2008, 2009, and 2010, when they still had the really nice blue and yellow livery on their planes. They were a great airline. The tour operator part of the business has been restarted though, so hopefully some of the staff have found jobs again 😊 keep up the great work man!

They don’t but it may interest you to know that during the winter Thomas Cook lease a few of their A321 airframes to Air Transat so you may still be able to fly on one of their planes out of Toronto, just not with them 😃

I flew this exact route on that exact plane from East Midlands in June 2018 to MAH (Mahon). Luckily on Tuesday 3rd Sep 2019, I am flying with Ryanair to Lanzarote! They are also the same cabin crew which I had!

Thomas Cook are my favourite and in my opinion the best! Good to see a review of an Avion A321, With the livery, the full cabin interior and the Thomas Cook cabin crew, the average customer would not realise they were not on an actual Thomas Cook Aircraft. The leasing is very well done by TC. The only difference is the Pilots are from Avion Express. Did the captain give many updates on route, time of arrival etc to passengers?
Yep, i do agree with you. Nobody there noticed it was a leased airplane.
Negative, the captain didnt make almost any msg. I guess with the real TC ones it doesnt happen.. right?
OnBoardHD - Flight Experience yes on a UK aircraft with UK pilots they always keep you well informed of route, time of arrival etc etc. The Avion crew really should make announcements though, maybe his English was just not good. Really glad you enjoyed you flight . Are you returning on Thomas Cook?
Actually, i've made this flight one month ago or so. Its impossible to upload in real time 😅😅 It takes me around 12-14 to edit each video.

Ah lots of memories in this video! Still miss Thomas Cook. Its a shame you did not get to try a Thomas Cook Airlines aircraft with a G-TC** registration as they were much newer than the Avion Express aircraft you had. When will you be trying Wizz Air UK again? Love their A321!
The 2 flights i had with TC were fantastic.
I have several flights with Wizzair which are basically the same as Wizz UK.

Another terrific TR from you mate.Being from the other side of the world Titan Airways was a new one for me and on looking it up it seems to be a charter type airline. You seem to have good knowledge of all the towns you flyover enroute,not just on this TR but others you have done,is this just from yourself being well travelled and recognise these places from the air? It certainly adds that little extra in interest and is most appreciated.East Midlands looks like a nice medium sized airport also.Thats all from me for now,thanks again for the wonderful entertainment,your productions are incredibly good!

There are many towns that I'm able to recognize from the air, yep. But many others are the result of an intensive search in Google Earth. Sometimes takes me 5-10 min to find some specifi locations. But I think result pays-off 😊

Como dato curioso te diré que Thomas Cook lleva el nombre del creador de los paquetes vacacionales (y toda una celebridad en UK), el cual era de Leicester (ciudad a la que East Midlands da servicio). Un saludo.

Wow! I've never done such long flights! So I can't really recommend anything for long-haul.
I flew on the Iberia A340 and A350, Austrian B777 and Air Europa B787. All of them where really comfortable, but I dont know how are they in long routes.
How was the experience with Etihad? 😊
The Etihad A380 is amazing and it has loads of legroom but their 787-9 is one I wouldn’t go on again as it was very uncomfortable

Que lastima que no hayan conseguido una solución. Perdemos una gran aerolínea, unos grandes profesionales pierden su trabajo y también perdemos una gran parte de los 757 que seguían operando en Europa. Te queda un video por subir de Thomas Cook o el vuelo que habías hecho en el 757 había sido con Condor?

Dentro de lo malo, sólo ha quebrado la parte de UK, por lo que Thomas Cook Scandinavia, Condor y otras... siguen operando.

Este sábado iba a publicarse el primero. Pero creo que voya modificar la programación para poner el último de Thomas Cook UK (la quebrada) que tenía grabado y pendiente de editar.

@@OnBoardHD Yo lo que he leído es que solo Thomas Cook Balearic y Condor pueden seguir operando, a Thomas Cook Scandinavia se le co nfiscaron los aviones según he leído. Ya tengo ganas de ver ese último video Thomas Cook para despedirse de la aerolínea como se merece.

It's not a corporate plane anymore. It is used for training and as spare aircraft in case another one has any problem.

En La Cimpagnie, tiene boeing 757 y airbus a321 xlr
Es la Compagnie creo y no se si todavía tienen los A321XLR pero operan long haul con los 757 y creo que solo tienen Business class!
