Great review! The "ready to play in 30 minutes" is for real - managed to run the lost city adventure from this one with less than an hour prep after 14 hours at work, and it went great.
One other thing that is great about it is that many of the boss monsters have their own tweaks that make them unique, rather than being damage sponges. It's amazing how much mileage DM Scotty gets out of basically two stats.

I really like that style of bullet point layout. much better then read aloud box or browse a paragraph to find the one thing you need to convey.
This is how adventures should read. Terse and useable.
But that would upset the pay by word count model, which indie creators are thankfully free from.
Thank you for sharing this book it's a pick up for myself

Something that doesn't often get mentioned about EZD6 is how easy it is to convert old DnD modules into EZD6. Our group has converted and played several already (Palace of the Silver Princess, Red Hand of Doom, and a few others) some without any prep beforehand, just to see if it could be done. It's easy. The modules play so much faster and end up more intense, too.

Love it. It is an incredible value. I tend to gravitate toward the books that give the BEST GM advise and this book of quests is another all star, along with ICRPG and Shadowdark. Even if I never play EZd6, Im sure as hell stealing many components (especially lucky dice, modified strikes/hitpoints and others).
Examples: "In my years of playing, I’ve realized that smaller worlds just work better. In medieval times, many folk never left their home village. A realm far smaller than a continent was still a vast....." There are pages more of Scotty trying to tell us how to NOT waste time and how to make our adventures entertaining.
"Instead of blocks of lore, this book is presented in bite-sized quests that get players moving.... Quests as plug-and-play bits of fun also make it easy for (GMs) to pick up
this book and run ‘cold’ with minimal homework."
Gods I wish ALL were written this way. Some commercial adventures require me to read for two freaking days JUST to figure out what stuff I actually need to run the damn adventure. Are they getting paid by the word? No, I don't care about the lore. Or at least put it in an appendix and Ill look it up if I do.
Those words by Scotty summarizes it better than I could, and also shows why I think this book is a great addition EVEN if you intent to steal the ideas (in small or large chunks) for another game system.

You can easily do a romantic adventure in your setting. Just have the heirs of two of your rival families fall in love (maybe the two that don't involve wererats; I'm really fuzzy on the particulars). One option is that the star-crossed lovers enlist the party to help them escape to a happy ending.

We switched from D&D to EZD6 and combat ceased to be a slog. We are a more narative group and so the crunch of combat was not super important to us. The EZD6 system still allows for the dice to aid in the story telling while not allowing the dice to grind the game to a halt looking up rules. We were sceptical of the ability for EZD6 to support a long term campaign (6 sessions in since the switch) but it hasn't been an issue, like I said the group is narative based. The real benifit is that as a DM the cognative load has been lifted from me in terms of remembering so many rules and now I can focus way more attention on the pacing of the game, i.e. getting my players back on track when they run with jokes.

If you're up for something really 'indy' and different this month, you could do far worse than take a look at Fairview (by Post World Games [Jim Pinto]). It's like one of those very claustrophobic episodes of the Twilight Zone and Twin Peaks; but also a bit like The Prisoner meets 1984, although in a very patriotic WWII, small town USA. It'd certainly be a journey to the 'Rive Gauche' for Deathbringer, if not for a literature professor ;-)

Yep, watch a game review on Dungeon Craft, find another RPG book to buy. I really liked EZD6. I've been contemplating making a modern horror action game utilizing the rules, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Hell, you could even tweak some of these games for modern horror, or even sci-fi, with probably little effort. Small town? Now it's a space colony. Giant spiders? Nope, alien arachnians (or "black crawlers" as the local colonists call them). I love games that give you what you need to play without tons of fluff. All the fluff and extra stuff will come from the players as their PCs make their way through the adventure. Just give me the details to run the game and I can handle the rest.
