Old man zangetsu is a direct criticism of a parent that does unintentional harm to the child under the pretense of protection from the world they must inevitably become a part of. This is referenced with urahara telling isshin "a father can steal his sons future" in the fulbring arc.

Love that this was a proper analysis and connection to the ideas/philosophies you presented and not just a retelling of the story. Theres a good amount of depth to Bleach and its nice to see someone be able to convey that well.

@ArimaKng love the Fact that You love Tokyo Ghoul too..! You know what man, TG and BLEACH Manga are one of the most Underrated pieces of Fiction.... more true for Bleach. Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul Manga shares the traits of BLEACH manga, which makes me love both, _..i ofc red TG way before I red BLEACH so i had to check which came first else i was gonna think Tokyo Ghoul kinda inspired BLEACH ...and become a joke to people._ 😅
The best word to describe the nature of bleach's thematic landscape is "subtlety" , its very intricate, and brings a sense of realism to larger than life plot points all woven together to give a commentary on ideologies and spirituality and the search of destiny from our own reality , while showing the contrast of it all.
Such a phenomenal BLEACH video these philosophies hit so hard, especially with Asuchi part that Old Man Zangetsu created to continue the manipulation of Ichigo to protect him. This video illustrates how much of a self searching centered type of story BLEACH is . I'm looking forward to the philosophies Kubo would incorporate in the upcoming Howling From The Jaws Of Hell arc.
You really understand bleach and You just got a new follower we need more Guys like you on RUclips talking about bleach let’s get you to 100,000 subs!!!!
This video is amazing man, really can’t sing enough praises for it. So refreshing to see a straight take on the story through the lens of its ties to specific philosophy and allegory, that also puts BLEACH’s core themes into perspective while consistently showing how events in the story for certain characters tie into those themes directly, gave me chills. Deserves far more recognition, I hope you get to put out more great content in the future.
A point that you could've added is that in a databook, Kubo directly references the cave allegory, and Aizens take on it. Kubo describes Aizen as "The gaze into the sun." The reference to the cave allegory reflects Aizen strive for the true reality of the world by discovering the being located by the sun (Reio, as shown by the anime). Just as the sun in the cave symbolizes the true world, it does so in Bleach. Aizen, by looking into the sun, literally and symbolically, strives for truth. Just a cool thing to show that these takes you have are intentional breadcrumbs Kubo left for astute readers to interpret. Spectacular video, insanely intelligent and articulate detail of multiple important characters.
The fact that the entire basis of the entire lore and worldbuilding is *literally* "God is dead and we killed him" is just absolutely fucking metal and is the premiere thing I point to when I show how deeply Nietzschean the story is
Still watching the video and probably will rewatch to fully grasp the concepts and ideas you put forth here. This is a great video essay that shows the philosophical depth in bleach and its characters that I have never really seen highlighted in the community! Alot of people like to dismiss ichigo as a main character saying he lacks depth and connection to the antagonists of the story but you my friend have clearly and articulately disproven that rhetoric👏 Only thing I'd like is for you to break the video up into chapters perhaps as topics blend into each other making a little hard to follow❤
Great video. Just one recommendation. Ik it isn't your fault either, to an extent. But I'd recommend lowering the music slightly to make up for your mic

Bleach has always been an incredibly profound and subtle shonen. It's one of my favourite shonen and is my favourite in the big 3.

This to me is why I love bleach so much. It has such an insane depth with philosophy unlike any other series
Well I guess vagabond also shows crazy philosophy, symbolism and depth side by side to bleach

Yes! Kubo called one of the Bambi’s former-holy slave ‘death of God’, kubo obviously read and actually understood Nietzsche well, most do not!
