A lot of times your biggest weed patches is where drains for rain control is. In other words, seeds get washed downed from people who aren’t trying to control the weeds but you really are doing a good job as far as pasture
On this particular spot we did not come back and level. I did fill in some big holes from our farrowing paddock that the sows dug so we could mow over it. This pasture does have some dips in it but no big holes. Appreciate ya'll watching.
We live south of Greensboro too in and around Asheboro always looking for farms around it nice to buy from or to exchange information with. Just started back to farming got a couple of cows some pigs but we’re working on it
In a grazing paddock, when the grass goes to seed, it is less palatable to the animals. Grass also grows in a sigmoid curve. You want the animals grazing when the grass is mid-life (between the infant, new stage and the older seed stage). At that point the grass is highest in nutrients and most attractive to the animals. When pruned (eaten) at that state it recovers faster and captures more carbon. In this field, it was not a big deal because we aren't grazing it. Appreciate ya'll watching.

The plant at around 3:45 you wasn’t sure about I believe is some kind of pear and it is very invasive.
Thanks. Trying to keep them mowed down.
After you ran the pigs thru that pasture last year, did you have to come back and level it out or did you leave it alone?

How do you like that tractor? What brand? Great content. Thanks.
Love it. It is a Kioti CK4010. Only wish the front end loader would lift a little more. Maxes out at about 1200lbs.

Cool. We are in Pleasant Garden. come to Asheboro frequently to Piedmont Custom Meats. They do our processing. Always glad to meet a neighbor!
Why don’t you want the grass to go to seed? Wouldn’t that be more food for the animals as it reseeds the pasture?
