Why not? Oslo is a semi-large city by nordi standards, 1.1 million roughly, and there are many considerably calmer and quieter areas outside the downtown. Including some parks and three huge forest areas.

Are you dumb? This is in the middle of the city, next to the sea. That's why people are packed like sardines. It's a downtown, and in the westside richer side too. Go outside Oslo, Norways big city, and people are usually not packed together. Or just go into the 64% forest that Oslo has.

Oslo has 2/3 forest in municipality, and several housing areas outside downtown look like a garden/forest paradise in summer. But the downtown center is small, with several transport hubs, and everyone just gathers there. Oslo is built like ring city and the center has almost no greenery, while in the total outskirts there are forests or sea... And then in the middle there are more parks and greenery. Idiots just walk in downtown with heroin and maniacs while the boroughs (where people actually live) are often super beautiful. Many people, even Norwegians don't undestand this. One has to see a bit of the outer boroughs also, not just the commercial downtown with almost no apartments (some, but most are outside the city center).
