This video is therapy in itself! I used to visualize that I still had my youthful, slim body - and actually shopped as if I was a size 6 instead of the size 14 that I am. But now I shop for my real-time-body. I look so much better and feel more confident. Also, I tend to ask myself if my clothing/style is age-appropriate. Why do I do that to myself? There’s no age listed on the sizing tags! Your video has given me a new and freeing perspective. Thanks so much!

Saving my clothes for special occasions has been my downfall! You should see me walking my dog now🤣🤣🤣…but I’m feelin’ damn good with my doggie by my side since I’ve included my personal style on the sidewalks❤️👍🏻😃. Love your videos!

Such a great video. You are so right about saving your clothes for a special event. The pandemic has taught me that life is short. I wear my clothes and try not to leave them hanging in the closet. I still dress up for church even though we are so casual these days. I don’t care I want to look good in house of the Lord.😀. I always enjoy your videos. Keep them coming. You have helped me a lot for a retired 62 year old. ❤️

Our church is pretty casual but most of us still choose to dress up a little and just show that respect. I can’t see myself dressing up for dinner with friends but not dressing up for the Lord. I look forward to my Sundays at church. I don’t go every Sunday but I’m starting to go a lot more. At least 2-3 times a month. Thank you babe. ♥️♥️♥️

Wow, you have really stuck a nerve with that. When I buy a dress it would always be for church first, my priority being to dress properly for the Lord's house. So when others think I'm being a snob for dressing up, I really don't care. This has been excellent advice.

I went from a 8 to a 10/12 and still squeezed into the 8s looking a hot mess and waiting to lose the covid weight. Well I’m a 10/12 and have accepted it.

This was actually very helpful. I definitely need to organize ( declutter and donate) my wardrobe for sure. Knowing where things are and being able to see them is helpful. I have always loved fashion and dressing, but finding you and your real style that’s really nice and reachable like clothes that I can actually wear out has made me completely reevaluate my looks. So now, every time you share your new ideas, it prompts me to evaluate my wardrobe too! Shapewear is absolutely key, my mother stressed this importance even as a young woman. You have nailed your style and know what suits you! Many of these outfits are spectacular. They seem effortless, but I can tell you took a lot of time and attention to perfect them. Jumpsuit at 3:59, 2-piece set at 12:39, B/W zebra at 16:41, and orange and white at 18:32 (the SHOES!) are my favorites. It's wonderful how well you know yourself!

Girl, you look so beautiful in those clothes. I actually have that really nice body, but your full-figured body looks way better the way you dress than a slender frame without the right style. If people take your advice, any body type can be beautiful. I'm changing my wardrobe!

This video gave me the push and breakthrough I needed to keep doing me. I started noticing I was second guessing myself. Maybe I’m too something ( old, heavy, out dated, too colorful, etc…) No more of that, if I like it I’ll wear it.
Looking back some of my best outfits were things I pulled off because of my confidence. I received so many stares from the older women…. while the youngsters would be smiling & telling me how much they like my style.
So thank you again, I got some closet cleaning todo😅!

Best advice that my cousin told me in my youth. Just because it comes in your size doesn't mean you should wear it. Wear clothes that fit you well. Find the brands that fit your body well. There are quality brands. You can buy quality on a budget get them resell. For me certain brands fit me well and i know i can pick them up resell without trying them on. Only keep quality items.

I love the part about saving your outfit for special occasions. I work from home and go to the office twice a month plus I'm a mom. Y'all about to see me at Publix looking fly. They may think I'm being extra but idc anymore. They're gonna see it in the office too.

Wonderful informative video. I am in total agreement. We went to the nursery to get plants and I was dressed in casual sport outfit that I contrasted with a bright colored shrug and updo messy bun and the store clerk complimented me and asked if I was going to a special event. I love this video! You are so encouraging Alisha. I learned to love my body because of you. Being a older woman, I always feel that I didn't dress the way an older woman should, but now I am so confident in what I wear. My mother was a sophisticated dresser and looked good in everything, but just like me, she had to find her style because when she was young, she didn't feel that she had the nicest clothes. My mother is my inspiration and so are you and I had to except my body and dress it they way that I should and I feel so much happier now with my personal style. Thank you! 😊
Good for you! I was the same way, afraid of people thinking that I was “trying to look young” (I’m 60). I don’t want to look ‘young’, but I am trying to look stylish and that is exactly what I do now. I love it when younger women compliment me🥰
