I grew up in P.G County and remember when Station 33 was in the old station. I also remember when Station 33 had the first tower from Seagrave. The brothers ans sisters of Sataion 33have come a long ways. Keep up the good work. I was a Volunteer firefighter in P.G. for 25yrs. before moving to NC .
Great videos. Some paid firefighters know what it means to be a volunteer. I Been a career firefighter for 4 years but been a volunteer for 14 years in MS. And my fire dept check is enough to keep you about the poverty level without another job. So to me like many of you, firefighting is all about having pride in the job. I promise you it ain't about the check brother! It is about serving and being part of something with my brothers and sisters in the fire service.
Wow, all you people bashing on Volunteers are people who need to get lives and learn a little history. Firefighting began with nothing but volunteer firefighters. I myself am a volunteer firefighter, started when I was 15 and still a member of the department I began with and I'm currently a firefighter for the United States Air Force. I'm proud to be a professional and volunteer firefighter because I'm only 19 years old and following my dad's footsteps as a firefighter.
Remember that the Firehouse magazine stats are only stats that are submitted to them for publication. There are 1000's of departments that don't submit their call volumes, so it's not a great way to gauge calls. As for the training between career and volunteer, remember that a lot of career departments put their folks thru a school that can last 800 hours, and they're required to do training daily. Saying the career guys get more training isn't a put-down at all, it's just a fact.
no, its not marked on it just as both engines and rescue engine arent marked expect with just a simple 33... n for ppl. who want to be kentland, come by and do a ride along... 33 always welcoms ride alongs, but let me tell you what, you had better be on point!!!!!!!!!! stay safe n dont get left!!!
George Mollohan Jacksonville Florida E28 had over 7,000 calls for services last year and that was a single engine company. Orange County fl came behind then just shy of 6600. Hills borough county E14, ft lauderdale E8 all blew kentland out of the water in the last 10 years and FDNY E290 has been the busiest engine company on the east coast since Jesus word sandals averaging 8-9000 runs a year and ending off 2019 with 8,101 calls for service in that year. So no, engine 33 is not anywhere near the busiest engine company on the east coast.
George Mollohan keep in mind I didn’t even factor in christianas engine 1 out of station 12 which is 1 of only 2 engine companies on the east coast that are right behind FDNY E290 in call volume.
i agree i mean what would they have done if they didnt strech anything and they walk in and it backdrafts then they are gonna have to take the time to lay in and stretch lines
Ok I understand pulling the trash line for a smoke investigation. Why did he pull that big section of inch and three quarter line for a smoke investigation. Flames and/or smoke wasn't visible from what I could see. Of course I wasn't there. Just asking, don't mean to sound negative :D
hey guys I live in Texas . I've grown up in a fire house since I was about 3 . and I'm 17 now and have been a explorer for 2 years and a volunteer for 1 . I was really thinking about moving out there and joining your department. I was wondering if I could get in contact with somebody in the department who could help me with Kentland
i am sorry for assuming and judging you by your comment but it seemed as if you had a problem with vollies and i see your point i respect kentland but i must agree with you that they should be payed
there is also for all of you nothing as overkill if u take both handlines in and dont need either whats it matterr u had them there if you dont take them and shit hits the fan and u need them and they are not there ok but if they ae there great only difference is have to pack and not packthem up in the end and a little light worl never killed anybody
I have seen tons , Paterson NJ a very busy career city super ghetto old mill city , they had white truck for 30+ years , they just switch back to red like 6 years ago , Baltimore City FD had white Trucks for many years , New Haven Connecticut has white trucks , Newark NJ had white trucks for years , tons of other small volunteer towns have white trucks all over the country , it’s actually pretty common
thats the attitude that makes the fire dept look bad. i bet you dont go interior either because its dangerous. you would probably make a good safety officer
Great video but for a dept that gets the amount of fires they do the should slow down and not run jus calm down nd jus sorta speed walk wen they have a fire but still nice video
You have a driver helping to flake line while the knob man starts stretching. Anybody that’s ever actually been to a fire knows if you’re first due to you just drop a line at the hydrant and drive off and delegate it to the second due or you worry about the attack line first then worry about connecting your supply line. You have a good 3 minutes of water to hookup and if you know what you’re doing it should only take you a minute and some change to hook a hydrant and get water cycling to the tank and lines
wow... its amazing how many ppl. are fighting over stupid shit just cause its kentland... they are a excellent bunch of guys, but its just another station with more disapline, maturity, and some excellent firemen... 1. all reported fires, smoke in buildings in PRINCE GEORGES county you are required to at least advance a line to the front door till the hazard is identified... 2. the pick up truck is called "mini pumper33"...
2:27 Let it burn. : ) It's Jesus, the one with the living water. In study of the Bible, in obedience to Jesus you'll be using holy water. Examples of the living water, students of Jesus in action. Um, Obviously Sodom didn't have a very good fire department. It makes a difference.
Yea, stretch a 50GPM redline instead of being prepared with a real handline. The first arriving engine is career, and they're stretching handlines too, guess that's "volly overkill"? Oh yea, was there fire showing in the rear? Don't know, because you can't see the rear in this clip. Go hate somewhere else.
ok everyne needs to shut up nobody here belongs to kentland so we dont know how they operate for all we know that could be how they operate not every company operates the same
What do you know of the Bible and fire? The first baptism, by fire. You have your first baptism, by fire. You cannot be good firefighters unless GOD makes you good, you cannot be good firefighters and not follow Jesus in action.
Why are u shiten vollies huh? im becoming a jr ff next year and its 99% vol and i know some of paid guys are nice, but some are assholes who think they know everything... but thay can burn....anyways i know alot for who i am and know what i wont take shit from paid....and i want to be paid.....Be safe, and respect vollies....

In PG we always pull a line reguardless of what you see.......if anything it's good practice for when it is a job.

Careful guys, watch the engine. Don’t want to let those embers touch it
Kentland is Amazing!!
Truck rolling Champions of 2002!
Yes they are volunteer, and those are mars lights below the window
but just because you cant see smoke or fire in the clip doesnt mean its not there besides its always good to be prepared
kentland has a live in program
Awesome Video!!! FREE 33!!!
Badass mf man love all y’all
weird is a matter of opinion! Thank god for volunteer departments or some towns wouldn't even have a station in them.
do towns and counties have volunteer police?
Kentland does not run a brush truck, it's referred to as their "mini". It's how PG county designates rigs...
As in "Mini Pumper 33 respond for the medical local.....". Medical locals sucked .
amazing video stay safe brothers
Power call on the brush truck...Priceless!!! Is this the video in the beginning when yall where 3rd due and were the first on the interior?
How many people live in Kentland?
How many operations you have per year ?

no, its not marked on it just as both engines and rescue engine arent marked expect with just a simple 33... n for ppl. who want to be kentland, come by and do a ride along... 33 always welcoms ride alongs, but let me tell you what, you had better be on point!!!!!!!!!! stay safe n dont get left!!!
Pope AFB and i graduated Feb 02, 2007
there protocol in pg is to pull a line for any reported fire or smoke in the structure & sometimes a f/a
engine 33 is the busiest engine on the east coast
False
@@JohnDoe-yq5bd He was correct
George Mollohan he was false.
George Mollohan Jacksonville Florida E28 had over 7,000 calls for services last year and that was a single engine company. Orange County fl came behind then just shy of 6600. Nah bro went up the curb
It doesn't "say" Mini 33 on it anywhere. Doesn't mean that's not it's designation.
What is the Last truck? Squad? Attack? Rescue? (Naw I know it not a rescue.)
The Jet at 1:39 .
NICE
it could be considered a mini pumper based on what equipped on it
i agree i mean what would they have done if they didnt strech anything and they walk in and it backdrafts then they are gonna have to take the time to lay in and stretch lines

also how do you they weren't training
hey guys I live in Texas . I've grown up in a fire house since I was about 3 . and I'm 17 now and have been a explorer for 2 years and a volunteer for 1 . I was really thinking about moving out there and joining your department. I was wondering if I could get in contact with somebody in the department who could help me with Kentland
I've been in contact with the recruitment officer for kentland. I can give you their email address
Is this a vollie fire department ? (:
And at 3:16 are those Mars lights right blow the window ?
- thanks
100% Volunteer 24/7 365 . Yes those are Mars 888's .
If I remember, it's a Seagrave/FWD
i am sorry for assuming and judging you by your comment but it seemed as if you had a problem with vollies and i see your point i respect kentland but i must agree with you that they should be payed
thats like in germany
but are you allowed to do your scba in the age of 18 oder earlier?
Depends on the jurisdiction
there is also for all of you nothing as overkill if u take both handlines in and dont need either whats it matterr u had them there if you dont take them and shit hits the fan and u need them and they are not there ok but if they ae there great only difference is have to pack and not packthem up in the end and a little light worl never killed anybody
why do you have a problem with vollies like me
How many calls do they do
Around 5-6000
100% volunteer and proud of it! Check their website
My town could use one of those.
Whats wrong with powercalls? whelen is old school
truckie54 on their site the run about 450 per month which is about 15 per day my department is up to 450 for the year now
are thy the only ones that got white fire truch that you know of in the usa ? i never seen a white fire truck in person
0:15 I wonder if the guy with the FDNY shirt on is the one that pass away not to long ago?
If you are referring to Marine, FDNY/Kentland member Chris Slutman he is not the fella at the time mentioned .
i was told some of their guys are a little wierd and have mohawks
Running a line, it must have been a structure
thats the attitude that makes the fire dept look bad. i bet you dont go interior either because its dangerous. you would probably make a good safety officer
Great video but for a dept that gets the amount of fires they do the should slow down and not run jus calm down nd jus sorta speed walk wen they have a fire but still nice video
