My grandfather had a Triumph TR2 and loved it. I really want one of these. It's a beautiful car.

    beautiful story and beautiful cars.
I always wanted a British sports car but, unfortunately, never did get one.

What a lovely story. You two have certainly had a great life. And you still have your baby ! Sounds like a fairy tale. Back in '73 I had a Sprite (1968?) with windup windows and one hand - pop - up top. Didn't have it long but had a great time. My girl and I would picnic at a beautiful cemetery (!). Very English looking place. Had a pond with slanting grassy sides and we'd go for groceries and make sandwiches . With the Sprite parked under the trees and the dragonflies flittering over the water, it was quite an idyllic setting and we, too, had a lovely time. These cars certainly enhance the quality of life.

I own many british sports cars however the tr2 is by far the most fun to drive and own.

Loved my TR3. Totally impracticable but a joy to drive and a thing of beauty. I sold mine for $2000 because I wanted roll up windows.

I once owned an Austin Healey 100-4, but my dream has always been to have an Austin Healey 3000....the epitome of sport car design. I also once owned a Triumph Tr-3 and raced a Triumph GT-6 in SCCA amateur racing.....I will never forget the smell of fuel and the adrenal rush of racing...there's nothing like it.....

I miss my Austin H 3000 tri-carb. I sold it for $3000 in 1981 to pay for law school. :-(

LOL, no but otherwise was selling the Healey such a lost... had to sell my little Classic Spitfire in favour of deployment of hydrogen fuel cell technology. Do you need some :-) so I can earn back suck Classic again. Will compensate the CO2, I guess to preserve such great cars...
