The Mirage had moving walkways going from the sidewalk near Caesars into the Mirage, and you could see the baby White Tigers and a few adult ones in a large area behind glass, advertising the S & R lion and dolphin habitat. Music and announcements would be heard. By the way, the ramps used to move both ways for the mirage, then one way. Same for Caesars. One way in, and no moving walkways out.

@14:14 The white tiger exhibit was where Diablo's is now. The had a moving walkway that would take you down towards the south entrance/exit. They also had a gift shop at the end of the path that sold S&R memorabilia and show programs. They also had the Michael Jackson Siegfried & Roy song playing on a loop. A magical time to be in Las Vegas. I'll cherish my years as a performer there.

Rats have been around Vegas and the Strip forever. The casinos just used to do a better job of keeping them at bay. Wherever there's water and pipes, there's going to be rats! Caesars needs to spend more $ on maintenance and keeping their property looking pristine...something they haven't done in awhile! Let's hope they get the message soon. Thanks for the Tuscany promo info. Going to check it out this weekend. Thanks for all you do, guys!

The Mirage pool was always one of my favorites. Of course, one KNEW that the first thing a new owner would do was to get rid of that "Secret Garden," which covered a lot of space that could be put to better- and more profitable - use. By way of example, HR Hollywood (Florida) built an expansive lagoon pool area with many high-proced cabanas as well as a separate party pool area where young people pay big bucks to be bombarded with loud hip-hop. Those days of a leisurely day at the Mirage resort pool will likely never return.

We found out about rats in Las Vegas when we had some in our attic in the suburbs. It turns out that rats are all over the Las Vegas Valley, as well as Hawaii.! they apparently like to live in Palm trees, and that is one reason in Hawaii you will see metal put around the base of a palm tree. Here the solution just seems to be for pest control to put boxes of rat killing substance around your property. The rats also get taken out by feral cats. There are also some mice. While we think of Las Vegas as a Desert, we unfortunately seem to be the oasis for many critters which other areas think of as pests -- pigeons, rats, mice, grasshoppers, ants, coyotes, and now annoying mosquitos! fortunately, we also have some of the "nicer" animals, such as hummingbirds, turtles, starlings, chipmunks, and rabbits to mention a few. of course, the human interlopers in the area probably brought a number of species here that we're not originally in the desert, but some are native. Strangely, in the 24 years, I've lived
here I have seen only one lizard and no scorpions (knock on wood). The animals have to live, and I don't mind the diversity that exists here, as long as most of the critters stay out of my house except for two humans and one soft and sweet indoor feline.

When he investigated, he saw 3 or 4 very large rodents scurrying away. Makes sense. Lots of food in open trash cans everywhere. Great show guys. Loving the new channel, great content over there. Virgin is actually one of the only properties I would consider staying at on, or anywhere near the strip. They have free parking and authentic tables games, including 3:2 Blackjack tables. Just those two things in itself make it one of the best casinos anywhere near the Las Vegas Strip in 2024. Having said that, if Mohegan Sun is leaving, expect the casino floor offerings to change. They could very well come in and make everything a 6 to 5 fake blackjack table, with a continuous shuffle machine, like all the rest of the replica casinos in Vegas, with this management switch. Exciting news in Laughlin. That's a nice development and those casinos are worth checking out.

Treasure Island, Strat, Palms, Oyo, Ellis Island, and Tuscany all have 3:2 blackjack from a shoe for $15 or less. Park MGM definitely has 3:2 at $25. Planet Hollywood might have it at $25, depending on the day and time.

And I wouldn’t be caught dead playing any of those horrible shoe games for $15. Those are tourist traps, and I’m a professional card counter. Also, why are you playing $15 shoe games on the strip at replica casinos and not playing double deck for $5 at Jerry’s Nugget and South Point? Noob.

No worries about the rat thing! 😇 It isn't like they're a stranger to Portland and countless other major cities either! I still see rats no less often throughout Portland than Vegas, so they just basically come with any inter-city territory I suppose! 🤷‍♀
Tuscany is EASILY one of the single most underrated resorts in Vegas. The place is remarkably clean, the rooms are quite nice considering the location and what the resort is geared toward, it has some legit dining options, it has a lovely courtyard...............it obviously isn't a destination resort so you do kind of have to have a reason to go there whether it's you're already in the area at Ellis Island or Virgin so why the heck not or you're a local looking for the best bang for your buck, but I enjoy my time there and this promo is awesome. 😊
Both of you uploaded this awesome video of Laughlin fairly recently, and From Here To There just uploaded this awesome video about Laughlin (and Bullhead City) yesterday that I highly recommend to you both! And he literally drove across their new bridge on its opening day!
Again: The Eagles at the Sphere is just such a head-scratchingly bad fit in my opinion. Since when have the Eagles EVER been a visual act? Like, they're easily one of the most stripped-down, no-frills, just good ol' country-infused rock and roll bands image-wise. What's next there: Hootie & The Blowfish? Zach Bryan? ;)

When it comes to the Z Athlete Village (if it gets built), another use I could see for it beside being the home for Olympic sports in Vegas is as an alternative place for the F1 teams & drivers to stay at when they come to town mainly because they don't have to deal with the crazy crowds of the Strip resorts, especially if the village is built off Strip. This is what many of the F1 teams & drivers do during the Monaco GP weekend as many of them stay in nearby towns outside of Monaco due to Monaco's size & then drive in for racing activities. The village also needs to be close to the airport so that people can easily get in & out.

    Pink Floyd at the Sphere!

    • @jacobrosen1988
      @jacobrosen1988 4 месяца назад

What Pink Floyd? One member is dead and the other guys fight with Roger Waters. I think you have a better shot at seeing Paul McCartney or the Rolling Stones at Sphere: they put on spectacular shows wherever they play and are tailor-made for this venue. Wouldn't surprise me if Sir Paul's shows are already in the works. Thought he would be touring the States this year, but it's South America and someplace else, I forget where. And since it takes about a year for the visual content to be created, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2025 residency. That would draw from all over the world. Until there's another Sphere (I'm hearing Dubai now that London got waylaid), this is the only place you can see an experience like it--and it's worth it.

Not necessarily. As the bands and musicians get really older, they start to show up local casinos.
      Smokey Robinson
      Gladys Knight
      Rod Stewart
      just to name a few.
Older seniors and low rollers will eventually see some of these groups in our local casinos.
      Older doesn’t always mean richer.

When the bands get *really* old, fewer of their fans are left alive. The remaining fans might well be rich, but there aren’t enough of them left to fill a larger venue.

@@Scantronimus466 U2 sold out 40 shows at Sphere. Dead & Co. are in the process of doing 30 shows. Most of the fans of both (especially Dead & Co.) are older than God. Perhaps in 30 years, Green Day will be able to do 30 show residencies. Fans die off but new ones are born every day.

Sean is right: the older acts have the followings that can fill Sphere. Outside of Taylor Swift and Beyonce (and Jay Z), I can't think of too many current acts that can sustain a residency in such a large venue. Maybe Foo Fighters, but they've become a legacy act by now too. I would love to see a newer act succeed there--just can't think of who.

@@bobbowie9350 It is, but most people have figured that out by now, and, from what I gather, are confined to the 100 sectons. When we buy tickets, we specifically go for the 300 or 400 section so as to have the complete immersive experience. Sitting too close either is obstructed or causes you to crane your neck.

The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, all sell out football and soccer stadiums across the globe. Harry Styles sold out MSG something like 18 nights in a row. So I don’t think it’s accurate to say more contemporary artists couldn’t sell out the sphere. It’s honestly probably as simple as that it’s an awkward sized venue that would require a significant investment at at time when a lot of the big names are either in the middle of the tour or just finished a huge tour.

The Sphere needs to cater to older people. If you’re flying in and staying for a few nights and eating out you’ll be spending quite a bit. We’re doing it this fall. If I was back in my 20s or early 30s, starting a family, there’s no way I could justify the cost. Older people like me can spend the money and enjoy a show.

Yeah, it won't be the Bally's corp building there, but who will it be, who knows? MGM and Ceasars are too cheap... and forget about Boyd. Perhaps a native American tribe will come in and do something, only time will tell

The Athlete Village sounds like a Jackie Robinson sales job AGAIN! If it actually comes to fruition, it might be better as a co-college complex since they'd be more likely to use it year round, not just every 4 years! (Swimming, Water Polo, Track, Etc...)
I wish they'd bring back the coasters, log ride and tram in Primm! It's already there, just needs some upkeep!
I'm still betting Terrible's Hotel gets an implosion! Early interviews of those owners made it sound like that was the main reason they bought that particular property! The types who wear F-1 jackets!🤔
Went out to Hemenway Park again and saw a GPS collared sheep and a baby Bighorn this time!
The California Lottery should promote their tickets in Primm since it's right there! I stayed at Buffalo Bill's and it was pretty cool! Had several different rooms, I prefer the ones with the extra lounge chair and table, otherwise you just get one of those old rolling 70's office chairs. Had a nice view of the Buffalo pool in one room and a nice view of a coaster underground tunnel in another room! Another great video S & M!
