You definitely need to react to the "history of japan". It's the video that came out before this one, and is the a big reason this video had gotten so popular.
This is why the "Intermission" thing links to history of Japan

"No don't"
We did, several times, holy wars and all
No, don't.
Never in a million years would I have thought of you reacting to this lmao
As soon as he started doing the patreon reactions I knew this was inevitable.
And now we can add _this_ to the millions and billions of history-- of the earth :D
The capitalized title just seems kinda wrong...
i guess
I was gonna say something but you beat my to it
i love that your reacting to non pony stuff. one of the only reaction channels i still watch.
Huh, I would have expected History of Japan first cuz anime and stuff, but I'll take it! Leave it to the Patreon pledgers for the good stuff as always.

Don't you just love history? Cause I do.
You could make a religion of that! XD.
Kinda sorta out of subject, but I mean, it's partly the reason why I took a great loving to the Fate series (despite its clear historical innacuracies).
@@KusogakiRenfir Never heard of it. What's it about?
@@gabethebabe8538 Oof. Don't even get me started. Look up anything about it online, and you'll get guides about how to watch it, and what to take away.
In a nutshell (as best as I could), it's a visual novel that stemmed from its original appeal of being able to have sex with King Arthur (who is a female in this universe btw). After that somewhere, the writers thought there was a lot of lost potential, and fast forward, now we have a fleshed out, expansive, and ridiculously popular series (in Japan especially) that's about a little something in its setting called the Holy Grail War where mages from the modern era are chosen to summon historical and mythical figures from across humanity's history to duke it out against one another and claim the Holy Grail for themselves to grant a wish. It's a lot to take in, but it's something that becomes more rewarding the more you invest in it as a fan. The mobile game, Fate GO, is especially packed full of historical content since the story revolves around you going back in time to fight with these historical figures, and correct the course of human history, and the evil that seeks to destroy it. It's a lot of fun, but definitely not for everyone since it still relies a lot on Japanese anime appeal, cliches, and whatnot. I would definitely recommend looking into it if you have lots of time, and dedication.
@@KusogakiRenfir Sounds really interesting. I'll be sure to check it out sometime. Thank you.
Sees a new reaction to history of the entire world, I guess:

There is no "normal" reaction. The fact is that it is really fast. Some people get entirely blown away, and have nothing to say, as they are still trying to absorb what they just watched. Some people are history teachers, and stop the video to expand on something. Mr. Terry History does an AMAZING job - I think you'll like it. Some reactions ignore the brilliance of what they saw, and make a political statement based on... whatever they thought was relevant. One of my other favorite reactions involved a dissection of the music involved.
My point is: there is no normal. Your reaction is your own.
Really? Awesome. I like watching this sometimes because I like the little jokes and jingles
Also, if you look at how many continents the 7 Years War was fought, it was the true 1st World War.
Welp. That was the fastest history class I ever had. Would have been useful when I took history
this video never gets old. seriously wish i was in school when this came out. woulda helped xD
Littleshy's video parodied the previous video "history of japan" which you should react to.
The amount of times he has nodded his head is crazy, 97 times!
I can't believe that this reaction was already over a year ago...
Have you seen any of the "Oversimplified" series of videos?
I never clicked on a notification so fast! :D
Wow yay another reactor I watch reacting to this. That’s rare
This is just a general overview, of course. There were a sh*t tonne of empires and a f*ck tonne of wars he didn't mention.
Enjoyed your action you seem to pretty much get everything almost immediately that was fantastic yep pretty amazing video you probably stop at each millisecond and expand it to several thousand encyclopedia but it’s it’s a pretty impressive video and your reaction was cool man…
God I wish this guy had kept making videos, it was so amazing and well made!

He did forget to mention the fact that the Communist parties of the Soviet Union and China killed about 100 million people between them, and it's from a somewhat biased against Europe and America perspective, but yeah, other than that, it's absolutely brilliant. And hilarious.
He also forgot to mention that time the US accidentally invaded the wrong country over 9/11.
I think it was pretty even handed for the most part
@@ensanesane No offense, but the deaths of 100 million people due to totalitarian communism makes the wrong country being invaded over 9/11, or even the fact that the wars between USA and natives resulted in the natives losing and being pushed out of their traditional lands, seem like a historical footnote by comparison, hence my point about the anti-american bias, in that the natives thing was mentioned, while said events of far greater global significance were not. I am not by any means saying those events are irrelevant or not important, they are historical facts we need to learn from; my point is merely that next to the cost of Communism in human lives they're practically irrelevant by comparison. Emphasis on "by comparison".
@@redfalcongamer1422 I think the bias is rather clear if one is considered the result of a country but the other is referenced as the result of an economic system. The disproportion is due to circumstances, not a difference in systems. If there were more people in Iraq and something to be gained by their deaths, they would have been killed. At some point, an action is an action regardless. If Hiroshima and Nagasaki had half the actual population before they were bombed for example, would that make the act half as bad ethically?
@@ensanesane Firstly, the deaths caused by the simple switch of economic systems is impossible to accurately calculate. The 100 million stat is referring specifically to deaths caused by the Actions taken by the governments, specifically those who died in work camps, massacres, genocides, and so on. The horrors inflicted by the Communists were just as bad as those of the Nazis, and on a significantly larger and longer term scale, yet they weren't even mentioned while the Nazis were, in what is supposed to be an overview of the history of the world. This isn't a fault of just this video however, this is a fault of most Western history classes in general.
Secondly, I will repeat, I was not arguing the ethics of these actions, I was arguing for their historical insignificance on a global scale relative to events that effected far more people, specifically the Communist massacres.
That being said, on the topic of ethics, there could be and was a morally reasonable argument for the dropping of the first nukes, both before we knew all of what they were capable of, and with modern hindsight. As horrible of an event as it was, the morality of it, given the alternatives and how they could have played out in history since then, is not at all cut and dry. It's possible that the outcome we suffered through then was the best case scenario, when you consider that it created a mortal fear of nuclear weapons on a global scale before we had thousands of them, a fear that is responsible for preventing them from being used since, and a fear that may not exist had they not been used. If that fear of nukes had not arrived until we'd already destroyed the world with them in a Cold War turned hot, then dropping the nukes on Japan to end World War 2 may well have been worth it, not even considering the predicted loss of life on both sides if an actual invasion of Japan had been carried out instead. At the same time, was the dropping of the nukes a monstrous act that killed tens if not hundreds of thousands, most innocent? Yes. May that horrifying act also have saved the lives of anywhere from hundreds of thousands to (hypothetically) every human alive today? Also yes. Where do we ethically go from there? I don't know.
I am NOT saying dropping the nukes was justified, that is not a moral call I am ever going to be willing to make. What I am saying is that we must at least acknowledge the possibility that it was. Also, does there being hypothetically half as many people in those cities make the action hypothetically half as morally questionable (at best)? That is an excellent question. I don't know the answer. Those that make moral calls by reducing things to a simple game of numbers are heartless bastards, but they're not entirely wrong. Those that claim that every life is something that must be fought for at any cost regardless of the larger picture are noble, yet naive. It is this struggle between ruthless moral calculus and noble heroism that is so well debated in "Fate: Zero" and "Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works". It's not an easy question to answer, not by a long shot.
As for Iraq, the USA acted on the best intel it had at the time. At the time, everyone agreed on that, if I recall correctly. Did that information turn out to be wrong? Generally, yes. Did the USA make a tragic, and horrible mistake? Yes. Every country has made many. Does the fact that every country has made many such mistakes, and many if not all countries have committed terrible acts deliberately, excuse such mistakes and acts? Of course not!
Ethical debates are fascinating because nearly all of them are far too complex for any one person to ever be able to give a definitively correct answer to any given event.
Guys, it's only a twenty minute-long video; he can't mention everything.
9:31 Hey look, romance of the three kingdoms. Including the dynasty warriors games. :)

This video accomplished in making me think that the evolutionary theory is even more ridiculously nonsensical than I thought previously
Good for you. Well, not good, objectively speaking, but, you know.
I mean, if he dedicated the whole video to evolution, it would be better explained.
We live in a society.
People learn and grow, animals grow and become different, that's evolution in its basic form.
Things mutate. Sometimes it turns out bad and they die, but sometimes they mutate well and become the new normal. Evolution is just and endless series of that.
