+Sendy Lie (Lv.? Freelancer) I don't think the developers planned the end boss for uber characters so that's why they added the Kaiser Dragon in FF6 Advance and the weapons in FF7. Among other supremely badass tough monsters in other remakes of previous titles and future games. The end bosses are for those not-so hardcore players who just want to see how the story ends. But that's my opinion
The Ultima Weapon combined with the Genji Glove and the Master's Scroll in Terra's Relic slots are what allow her to do that insane amount of damage. The Genji Glove lets you equip two weapons, and the Master's Scroll lets you attack four times.
I'll add to that too. After you beat the game and beat the Dragon's Den Bonus Dungeon, You can go into the hidden battle arena on a small Island north of Mobliz, you can get as many Master Scrolls as you want there as long as you can get far enough into the 100 battles you have to fight.
Wow, hi Jon, yeah it's been a long time since we talked last. I'm glad to see you're still around. It's cool you got these on your myspace page and are sharing them with other people, that means alot to me. Thanks, don't be a stranger.
This game was one of the most fun I've had playing games...And it was on the GBA! I recommend this game to anyone who likes a game with a good story and great gameplay ^-^
...A small note I'd like to add to the above: the "Master Scroll" mentioned here is called "Offering" in other versions of the game. Also, you can get the Genji Glove instead of the Gauntlet early on by refusing Banon when he asks Terra to join the Returners.
The bonus file is a file thats saved to your memory card after you beat the game. When you restart the game, you can load this file up and view a bunch of extra stuff like a bestiary, artwork, coloseum item list, CG scenes etc..
In the Advance version it is. After you beat the game, you get to save your game so basically you can just keep stealing atma weapons in the final battle over and over.
This is one of the longest boss fights I know. 4-5 forms without a single break. Also the fact you had to form 3 different groups to get to him makes for a challenging yet satisfying boss fight.
In the world of Ruin, it's hidden in the cave that's on the Veldt. It's tricky to find though because you have to go through some hidden walls to find it. But none of that would matter if you didn't wait for shadow when the floating continent was collapsing. If you didn't wait, you can never get him.
That my friend is the Ultima Weapon. The potentially most uber sword in the whole game. The damage it dishes out is based on your max HP and what your current HP is. The higher your max HP, the more damage it can potentially do but as you lose HP the damage it does goes down. You find it in the Cave to the Sealed Gate in the World of Balance as well as receive it after you beat Ultima Weapon on the Floating Continent.
Equip the relics "Offering" (allows you to attack 4 times) and I believe it's "Genji Glove" (allows 1 weapon eqipped per hand for a total of 2 weapons; dual-handed weapons).
In the second part of the boss battle, did they by change need to do some editing for the US release? I can see the Japanese version being a bit more revealing.
In the SNES, that big blue sword Terra uses is called Atma Weapon, as it was in the PS1 Port as well, but the GBA re-make they re-named it Ultima Weapon. Atma Weapon and Ultima Weapon are the same weapon.
I might add that all the amazing story segments would be handled very well on a next gen system. I always liked FF6' story better than most FF story's, I'd love to see it narrated with next gen graphics.
I thought I was the one of the best final fantasy VI players out there, but you tore through those last battles like it was nothing! Wow! Of course, my levels barely reached 60 last time I got to the end... I have not played the dragon's den or soul shrine, but those places have me thinking twice about how good i am! I am worried when I do get there! lol
Before I played FF6 Sephiroth was my favorite FF villain, but now that I just finished Final Fantasy 6 I think Kefka takes the cake! I love the tier of monsters that lead up to him, both he and the monsters look like something out of a Roman painting of Gods. And the music sets the tone perfectly, I was actually nervous when I was fighting him!
Yeah but the SNES version did the musical transition flawlessly. Which is kind of weird to me since the SNES and GBA games are both on game cartidges. You'd think the GBA version could do it just as good but I'm guessing it's because of the GBA sound chip.
Final Fantasy VI was known for having its big cast of characters. During how many times the story switches narration; it may be a little hard to tell who was the hero but it's really Terra.
Man, it's good thing I've saved this part of the game in the emulator to fight him over, over, and over again. :D It's just too epic with the awesomeness soundtrack.
terra is using the atma sword, or ultima sword. the power of the sword depends on the level and hp of the user. and the reason she could attack 8 times is because terra has genji gloves and offering relic equipped so she attacks 4 times per hand
@DarkTypeMarth Meh, i wouldnt say so, I think that seems like a decent level, and Im assuming you felt very satisfied when you beat him, right? Do you frown upon those who use walkthroughs to play the game? Like myself (I only used it to make sure i dont miss out on things like espers and powerfull weapons and such.)
Sup Arti. Long time, no talk. Dude, I embedded your final battle videos from Final Fantasy IV-VII onto my myspace page.... They make my page look so badass. If it were me playing these boss fights right now, I would so take my sweet ass time just to listen to the music. I loved Final Fantasy IV's final battle theme b/c it was more Japan-esque/Ultraman style. Whereas Final Fantasy VI's final battle theme was biblical-esque.... Also a 5-star epic. I just wish the fights were harder.
I'm sure you know this but if you want the sound quality to be as top notch as the SNES version, either play this game using Game Boy Player (The Game Cube accessory, which lets you play Game Boy games on the T.V.) or hook the GBA or DS to your computer speakers using an audio jack. The sound quality was a MAJOR difference playing a DS game, though I'am not 100% sure about a GBA game. Either way, the audio's much better coming from either of the latter than the GBA's/DS's limited speakers.
I used to have issues with SNES to GBA port graphics clarity, until I found out that the SNES had a Mode 7 graphics processor, and the GBA only had a Mode 5 graphics processor. I have all of the US releases of the Square-Enix ports/remakes of the NES/SNES games for GBA and PSP, and have preordered the Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection for PSP which is an enhanced port of Final Fantasy IV and a port of the Wiiware sequel, Final Fantasy IV-The After Years on one UMD disc.
@McScreamo even if you are underleved, kefka can be beaten easily...just make sure to make something if he use fallen heart( dont exactly remeber the name of the attack)
to hit 8 times you use the genji glove to dual weild weapons then use the offering (or whatever its called for the GBA version) and there you go your character hits 8 times
they are four versions of kefka. They are meant to represent the four parts of the divine comedy where dante goes to hell, limbo, something, heaven. Notice how it goes devil, tortured souls, something, angel. divine comedy is book
Ya. Thats what makes this game easier than the SNES version, you can steal Ultimate weapons Ragnaroks from the Bosses and then beat the game, save rinse repeat until you're godly.
I should also add that in my current playthrough, I never worried about the bonuses Espers offered for leveling up. My characters are around level 60 and have around 6000 HP. Based on math, that's about 100 HP per level, and that number goes up little by little with each subsequent level-up. By level 99 I'm more than capable of hitting 9999, or very close to it.
Is it at the beginning of the game when you have to do a blitz? Lmao when i started playing it I couldn't defeat it also, but then I knew how to do the blitz, you have to press certain buttons on a certain order for a certain blitz to happen, more info on how to do each can be found on Sabin's profile in-game.
I remember reading something about how each tier represented Kefka in some way, like the last one is Kefka as God (Of Destruction), and another tier was his suffering, or somethin' like that...
Also, is it me or could see this symbology of the masonic pyramid? I mean, if you look closely at the background on the last form of kefka you see the sun as the "eye" , while the shinning sides are making a shape of the triangle.
Play Final Fantasy IV (4). It was also released for the SNES under the name Final Fantasy II. Can get the remade one for GBA or you can play the original North American version for the SNES with a ROM/Emulator (like ZSNES). I think Final Fantasy IV is the best place to start in the series.
if you guys want it more challenging, unequips all equipments and use lame weapons like great blades or flame tongue or something like that, give haste on kefka. he could deals 5000+ physical dmg and havoc wing is simply OHKO.
How long did it take you guys to beat this game? It really isn't that hard. :P You don't even need all those awesome spells and Blitzes (although they do help!) If ya just get someone to equip the Illumina (assuming you can get it in this version too), equip the Genji Glove and the Offering to get the 8-strike attack, and just wail away, the fight goes quickly enough.
@TheRealSirLamont yes. The loading times are still there, as this was a port of a ps1 game that was originally part of the final fantasy anthology two disc set. The only thing i don't like is the FMV intro, which looks horrible on my hdtv. Other than that, I play with the smoothing off. Sounds great in stereo, and the controls are pretty good.
I believe they are the three statues seen on the floating continent just before the world of ruin; just perverted by Kefka into the forms they have now.
I just started playing this version of FFIV and well. Although the esper music isnt the same, at least dancing mad has been left intact and that works enough for me :-).
Personally, I didn't have a problem with this version. Anyways, this was the first FF I ever beat. It's also my favourite. I'm proud to say that I beat this game yesterday. Took me a few tries to beat the last boss though.
Both were great in their own way. FF6 was less worrying about your stats (still important though) and more about experiencing the story. FF6 set the standard for the epic stories that were used in every FF after it, but it's the only one that still had those sweet 16-bit Snes graphics. If you've never played FF6, grab an emulator and play this thing. You just can't go wrong, especially if these kinds of graphics don't bother you.
I have Bum Rush but Sabins regular attack is more powerful, Blake/Locke is using the Paladins Shield and i'm wearing Ribbons, Genji Gloves and Master Scrolls instead of Miracle Shoes.
i never max out my chars levels like that. The Joy to me is envisioning the game like a real struggle, a real event. What kind of battle would it be if i just leveled up to 99 and killed Kefka in 2 seconds? I enjoy getting to barely the level needed to survive and winging it from there.
Love Terra's lightsaber.
If Kefka raises all his stats for every Lv.99 characters in game in this port like Sephiroth did, it would be awesome.
+Sendy Lie (Lv.? Freelancer) I don't think the developers planned the end boss for uber characters so that's why they added the Kaiser Dragon in FF6 Advance and the weapons in FF7. "life......dreams......hope.....where do they come from? where do th- NOT FOUR LVL 99S WITH ULTIMA WEAPONS!
SE is considering to remake this and FF5 for 3DS. Who else wants this to happen?
Me me me me
I hope they don't use those ugly chibi 3D models like they did with III and IV
That would be amazing.
Don't make things up.
*s t i l l*
*w a i t i n g*
Kefka's battle theme, Dancing Mad, is truly epic.
I remember my reaction to this fight. It was like the bosses in Bayonetta, you just have to yell out. "WHAT THE HELL AM I FIGHTING?"
Amazing skills of observation you have there. Looks like you played the game quite a bit. You earned yourself a new subscriber :D
Ok, so the intro music is the forest maze from super mario rpg, right? Whats this remix called? Or is it a remix?
...A small note I'd like to add to the above: the "Master Scroll" mentioned here is called "Offering" in other versions of the game.

I know what ya mean. Dancing mad is one hell of an epic song. One of these days I'll put the full mp3 version on my website.
This is one of the longest boss fights I know. 4-5 forms without a single break. Also the fact you had to form 3 different groups to get to him makes for a challenging yet satisfying boss fight.

Man, I was a KID when this game came out on the SNES. Man I am getting a bit old for games but it helps for getting off work.
that faceoff against kefka was like a one-hit kill.
after u beat ultima weapon, where do u go to find locke?please reply.i wrote on this vid cuz u already beated the boss.this is awesome.
How the heck did Repose miss the second time? I didn't even know that could happen.
terra is using the atma sword, or ultima sword. the power of the sword depends on the level and hp of the user. and the reason she could attack 8 times is because terra has genji gloves and offering relic equipped so she attacks 4 times per hand

I just wish the fights were harder.
what's that song playing in your intro? sounds so familiar... but can't put my finger on it.
And that's how Kefka died from a heart attack as soon as the battle started.
This game has one of the best Final Battle soundtrack ever created, just like Earthbound.
@TheMarine250789 So... is the snes version harder? and are there any other significant differences in it?
I'm sure you know this but if you want the sound quality to be as top notch as the SNES version, either play this game using Game Boy Player (The Game Cube accessory, which lets you play Game Boy games on the T.V.) or hook the GBA or DS to your computer speakers using an audio jack. @3rdCrossMinistry Actually, the music from Final Fantasy I & II (PSP) was just a port of Final Fantasy: Origins. (PS1)
lol i love how kefka is just part of the picture and you're just fighting an invisible enemy
@TheBenaiah A relic called the master's scroll allows you to do that.
@McScreamo even if you are underleved, kefka can be beaten easily...just make sure to make something if he use fallen heart( dont exactly remeber the name of the attack)
to hit 8 times you use the genji glove to dual weild weapons then use the offering (or whatever its called for the GBA version) and there you go your character hits 8 times
sucks how the music gets cut off and doesn't play into the next fight.
It wouldn't matter if you put the Merit Award on him anyway since the game won't let you access his equipment screen.
It's from Mario RPG, the forest maze song. It's a remake my friend made
they are four versions of kefka. They are meant to represent the four parts of the divine comedy
where dante goes to hell, limbo, something, heaven. Notice how it goes devil, tortured souls, something, angel. divine comedy is book
One of the best GBA games.. and I'm still playing it up to this day.. d^-^b
And Kefka's also one of the greatest bosses.. xD
What's up with the Super MArios RPG music? ^_^
It was my first RPG game, so I'll know music from the game when I here it.
Sqaure sure has a sick mind when it comes to Final Bosses.
I have them all since 8 except the last one, I've given up on them now.
I finished them all except for x111 2 it was a pain I thought.
who are the people you fight in this battle? (other than kefka) Are they the warring triad?
Ya. Thats what makes this game easier than the SNES version, you can steal Ultimate weapons Ragnaroks from the Bosses and then beat the game, save rinse repeat until you're godly.

Imagine the detailed story segments they could animate with CG such as Cele's stabbing of Kefka or Sabin's sparring match with his teacher.
whats the da vinci-like painting that the 3rd stage references?
Is it at the beginning of the game when you have to do a blitz?
Lmao when i started playing it I couldn't defeat it also, but then I knew how to do the blitz, you have to press certain buttons on a certain order for a certain blitz to happen, more info on how to do each can be found on Sabin's profile in-game.

This is the GBA port of 6(orginally FF 3 in the US) that came out on the Snes. the remake of the orginal FF 2(not FF 4/US FF2) is in FF: dawn of souls
Kefka's laugh is seriously the best goddamn sound effect I've ever heard. :D
I believe they are the three statues seen on the floating continent just before the world of ruin; just perverted by Kefka into the forms they have now.
have you even played both of them?
I have, and I regard them as both very very good games, but i still like this one a little more.
I just started playing this version of FFIV and well. Although the esper music isnt the same, at least dancing mad has been left intact and that works enough for me :-).
BTW, wheres Bum Rush, Paladin Shield, Miracle Shoes, i mean, did u got anything?
at the very begening of the video what song is that from i herd it from somewhere
That is one HELL of a way to conclude a game.
What's the title of the opening theme song?
Beware of the Forest's Mushrooms from the Super Mario RPG soundtrack.
Thanks :)
+Katjon89 From Start to Finish its called Dancing Mad
Personally, I didn't have a problem with this version.
Anyways, this was the first FF I ever beat. It's also my favourite. I'm proud to say that I beat this game yesterday. Took me a few tries to beat the last boss though.
any idea where to get this music of the final boss battle?
not in the GBA port but it does in the PS1 port of the game.
i played it in SNES wow amazing game one of my favorites FF. Thanks for the video.
what are all the other monsters before the actual kefka fight? the gods?
"What do they all mean? I shall destroy them all!"
Terra: *Hack, hack, slice*
Derp!

so right man, i always thought i was the only ff4 superfan!
man i dont remember terra being able to hit that much...or was that just the relic used on her?
I have Bum Rush but Sabins regular attack is more powerful, Blake/Locke is using the Paladins Shield and i'm wearing Ribbons, Genji Gloves and Master Scrolls instead of Miracle Shoes.
Why does the sound seem different than the actual OST? Like kind of a buzzing?
i just got this game a few days ago and i have a question how do you hit multiple times
Genji Glove and Master Scroll (a.k.a. the "Offering" in other versions) accessories.
what is the sword that terra is using i have always looked for it
What are the weapons Terra are holding? Ultimas or Ragnaroks?
I don't like the way the music shifts abruptly from once floor to the other....
that doesn't happen in my SNES version or the PSX version
wooo, Terra does 9999 x 8? do you use genji glove and whatelse?
This was voted the #8 greatest game all time ever made by Game Informer Magazine. It was a deep and wonderful game.
i never max out my chars levels like that. The Joy to me is envisioning the game like a real struggle, a real event. What kind of battle would it be if i just leveled up to 99 and killed Kefka in 2 seconds? I enjoy getting to barely the level needed to survive and winging it from there.
BEST FF EVER!!!
