Jack's a hard worker, just like Dad! I love seeing children working alongside their parents. It warms my heart, just like the logs will warm your home this winter.
Hi Jack! What a lovely son you have Ant. That looks like hard work but fulfilling. And what a beautiful peaceful view! Thanks for sharing Ant. Always enjoy your videos!!
You and Jack look like twins... 😀 You have a beautiful place. It looks so calming and green! ❤ I live in ARIZONA now but was raised in Germany. What a difference. Can't grow grass and if you do it costs an arm and a leg. I just miss the green lawns and trees😞
Well Done!! It was fun to watch you and Jack approach the wood you were chopping in different ways! He has a different way of chopping than you do Ant!🤗
My kind of day,in fact I've been doing the very same.Warms you twice my Dad used to say.Lovely to see puppy helping and Jack.Take care, love to you all from Walter cat and me 😊
That smile on your face shows how happy you are to have jack by your side. *Hii Jack, pleasure to meet you*. Oh your dog is supervising❤ saw Eileen the goose do the same when you were working on Kate's cabin. Adorable, serene and beautiful !!!
Hi Ant, in our previous home we would hire a wood splitter and spend the day splitting and stacking wood in our backyard. Always satisfying to see the wood sheds full!
Gosh Jack is just like you. Well done both of you. Do you need to let the logs season or dry out before you burn the on the fire. I just love a log fire. It’s so cozy and kind of mesmerising. 👍👍
Thank you Ant and hello Jack. My childhood was spent on my grandad's farm. Logs were chopped for the big black kitchen grate in the farm house. Brought back many memories of the log store and the chopped logs.♥
How nice that your son helps you, Ant! You can tell he’s your boy! My husband and I used to cut and split our wood until he had his shoulder replaced. Wood gives off the best bone warming heat. Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
I used to get 4 cords every year and my young son (at age 8) would put the wood on the chopping block for me to split using a maul. He was always helping me…his mom.
It's hard for me to understand how someone could take one hack at 6-8 inches of solid wood and lop it off! Haha! Your son Jack seems a great man like his Dad!
Yes! I remember when you built the log store - I'm still amazed at how you made it look so easy. Hello and welcome, Jack. It's so nice when our adult children help out.
Wow -Jack and you could be twins! What a wonderful son to come help dad. Lots of wood to chop! Wood store is very handy .glad you’re spending time with your boy! I don’t see mine nearly enough! Nice to meet you Jack!! ❤🦋🌿 xx
Hi Ant and Jack that's hard work and will keep you both fit the young ones are a great help we don't give them the credit they deserve ,good on you Jack helping your dad nice to meet you.
Thanks, Ant, and nice meeting you, Jack. A lot of work goes into getting the wood for winter. You know what they say, “it warms you twice, once when you cut it and then again, when you burn it. I’m glad you are using the spoils from someone’s clearing.
Hi Ant, Jack is a fine looking son. Question please Ant, the bigger pieces of wood could they be cut with a chainsaw instead of swinging the axe? It looks like hard work for the body to swing an axe. Thanks Ant. Franca 🦘🦘😊
Hi Jack I think you’re a “Chip off the Old Block “ as they say.. Nice to see you and your dad working together. Ant do you heat with the same stove as Kate ?
Don’t know how we would do without our son’s help. Grandson’s live to far to help but when the call goes out they come. Very grateful. You are blessed.
Hello Jack, hope your Dad didn't wear you out and you are not too sore using muscles that you don'tusually use. Ant that was a great way to fill the wood shed. I have missed these little catch ups and wondered if I had stopped the subscription but no it's just that your life is busy and long may it continue. Take care Ant and great to meet you Jack, hi Penny, I see you helping too. Cu l8ter Y
@@ants_countrylife I have loaded and unloaded many an Oak and Hickory! Many years ago we heated our house with a big wood burning stove and an insert in our Living room. It took a lot of wood! I have 3 grandsons and they are the apple of my eye. Enough abt me. Thank you for sharing Brenda from Tennessee 😊🇺🇸

Jack is certainly a chip off the old block. 😂😂😂 Loved every minute of this exercise. Thank you
My dad used to do this when we had a small farm back in the 1960s. I was very young, but I would sometimes chop the kindling up. 😄 Fun times.
You will both sleep well tonight!
My shoulders hurt from watching. That’s hard work.
That looks so tiring! But having enough wood for winter is a good thing.
Love seeing the dog and the view!
It‘s a family affair😂 My boys and I are already prepping for winter in the Bavarian Alps.

My husband and I used to split wood every summer when we lived in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Good memories of hard work. Great job you two.
I used to love getting wood ready for the winter-when I was in my 20s and 30s. Good honest work and a comforting, practical result! 😊😊
Nice to meet Jack. And great that he helps his Dad. But oh my, all I could think of was no gloves….. splinters!
Kate should be there to help stack the wood! Actually, she could have chopped some logs, too!!! Love your scenery and enjoy your videos.
Handsome man like his dad! Enjoyed seeing those muscles work & fill up that wood pile!
Thankyou

Oak burns long and slow, great for fires. I used to get cherry and walnut too, now and then, bright flame, not as long lasting.
