Kickin ass man. Consistency is the biggest thing to success. I'm down 65 lbs since may 16th or so and I find when I'm stalled its because I quit being consistant and get lazy with my meals. Your doin great man keep at it

Congrats on your progress so far. I concur that results need consistency, and it really helps to plan. Also, an understanding of the weight loss process and what to expect goes a long way to make sure you can be consistent. I bet as you lose weight, you'll just keep feeling better and better.
As for my weight loss (as you might remember, we started at the same time), it's been quite enjoyable. I've lost about 8kg in a bit over 5 weeks. I've been eating whole foods mostly with a focus on a healthy eating mindset. Eating without distractions, using cutlery to slow down consumption, water before meals, food order for satiety, and after meal walks. Food choice is a massive deal, and I've concentrated on calorie density, variety of foods, and prioritized lean protein. I don't have as much weight to lose as you (i want to lose about 27kg to get down to 10% body fat) and conversely I feel lower energy levels and poor physical performance due to the deficit. Obviously, you'll feel more energy on account of not lugging around as much weight.
Overall, I've been incredibly consistent and the results speak for themselves. I'm glad you're sticking to it. It's good to see you posting every day. I know it's a hell of a long weigh (haha) to go but it is definitely worth it. Patience needs practice, and this is the perfect opportunity to do so.
So congrats and good luck. Keep up the hard work! You'll enter your 40s lean and mean 😂😅😂😄

A deficit is going to affect people differently. Yes for me, definitely it is because I'm not lugging as much weight around, that I have more energy. And you are getting to your target, it will just take longer because there is less starting weight to begin with.
Everyone who is 50kg over weight will lose 10% of their target without trying...it's not to say I haven't tried, but the first 10% falls off easier than the next 90%>

Thanks for making this video and speaking from your heart. I imagine it's not easy to speak so candidly and with such vulnerable honesty on the internet for anyone to see. I personally find your channel very encouraging and uplifting on my own journey.
I'm a post menopausal woman who gained weight to the point of obesity when my hormones went haywire . My hips and knees started to conk out and it was becoming such an effort to go up and down stairs several times a day. My physical energy levels were through the floor most of the time and I craved food CONSTANTLY. I tried a traditionally "healthy," varied, calorie controlled diet for 6 months and literally nothing changed. Then I stumbled across intermittent fasting one day and that led me down a rabbit hole with stops along the way at low carb meals, the dangers of ultra processed "food," etc. and within about 10 days of starting to incorporate bits of those things I had lost a little weight and already felt so different in myself. Absolutely the biggest surprise of all was just how remarkably even and steady I began to feel mentally, physically and emotionally as I ate deeply satiating, protein rich, whole food meals. I realised over time that I had been living all my life on a carb rollercoaster lurching from one sugar high/ sugar crash to the next without even knowing that wasn't normal! I'm now back in the normal weight range for my body type and having easy mobility back feels great, but I do feel I may have lost some of the little muscle I had along the way so I guess addressing that may be my own next chapter. (Menopause is a bugger for muscle loss too.)
Keep up the great work you're doing! I am so thrilled for you that your own journey is proving to be one of such self empowerment. Looking forward with huge interest to following your further progress. I am inspired by the interesting meal combos you come up with and so enjoying the low carb recipe vids. I plan to make your avocado mousse/ice cream this weekend.

The carb rollercoaster is what gets people. In moderation, carbs are perfectly fine. But look at the food that's out on the market right now. Nearly everything "snacky" is over 50% carbs. The exception being cheese strings, pepperami and some cocktail sausages.
As for your journey, you have to do what's right for you. The only thing I will advocate for is having whole foods. As minimally processed as possible is the ideal way to go from what I've read and seen.

As for the mousse, it needs to be chilled .. if it's in the freezer too long, it loses the enjoyment of eating. 😆

@viking_nephilim Yup. I am planning to slowly reintroduce some whole food carbs in the next couple of months. I love sweet potato and really miss proper houmous! But I'm never going back on that rollercoaster! Step by step, eh?

Super impressed man, you are an inspiration ❤ I am slowly getting back into shape myself, so this is exactly what I needed!
As for sharing tips, I can share lots, but I will just go for the ones I found worked best for the most people.
I used to train people professionally, not as a PT (thats a trademarked title, lol) but I did privately train people of all walks of life, elite athletes and people who just wanted to get rid of pain, and people who wanted to lose weight. And with me knowing nothing except what was in this video about your personal capacity and goals and all that:
    1. While consistency as a habit is key, consistent growth is equally important.
You mentioned losing 100kg as a goal and increasing daily step count as another. The step count is the important one for this tip. If your step goal is 100 steps on day one. Do your best to increase that by between 3%-5% every day from last days number. So day 1 is 100, day 2 is 105, day three 110 day four 116 and so on. The reason for this is twofold, first, you are going to quickly get a lot more steps in, second you make improving and pushing harder itself a habit and going for new goals won't be so anxiety filled any more ❤
    2. While lowering energy intake and increasing energy burn are both needed for quick weight loss, your body will hit a floor you can't pass with lowering energy intake. My floor before I start gaining weight, or stop losing weight is around a 700kcal deficiency, If I eat less than that, I ain't losing a gram.
What I have to do instead at that point, is maybe put myself at a deficiency of 500kcal per day and instead focus 100% on increasing daily activity in fun ways like you said, going on walks, going to the park, playing with the kids. it does not have to be a workout, just more activity! Because that does not have a roof 😆
Of course, my journey is different from yours, and you should do what works for you! you are kickin ass already and will continue to do so!

When you do come off keto increase carbs gradually and exercise to keep the weight off. I made that mistake and lost my progress instantly. Start doing weights and LISSC cardio every day. 40mins weight lifting and steps everyday increasing to 10k steps a day

    • @WildAndGourmet
      @WildAndGourmet  Месяц назад

What's LISSC cardio? And the idea is, to gradually introduce carbs like sweet potato and other root vegetables. And the plan is to increase to 10k steps. But I think 2000 steps at my size is an acceptable target, and increases by 100 every week as I lose the weight.
