Great video. The build tips are helpful - the poster board is a particularly good idea, as I too thought the backing seemed wasteful (and ugly). I've been waffling on this for a while, I missed the campaign because I couldn't decide, and still, even after this video I'm not sure. The cost is definitely high, more than you'd expect honestly, but you've touched on a great point with it being a custom project, which I feel like is a big part of the experience - like a big model kit. What, more than anything, stopped me from backing the Kickstarter, was how the company seems to structure itself. They operate on a bunch of accounts with different names, and although I'm sure it's fine, it just seemed shady at the time. Ultimately, your review of the project has pushed me towards the purchase, and while I still think the file cost is VERY high ($ 120 CAD), I'll be picking it up this week. Thanks for the video.
Got the files back during the KS, and I finally got a printer to make it with. I saw a guy on their discord that turned it into a display coffee table for a Lego millennium falcon. He printed several of the corner pieces to act as the legs
I got in on the kickstarter on this, so got it much cheaper.. I just now got around to start printing this and have had issue after issue with pieces fitting correctly. Thanks for tip on poster board, thats gonna save a lot of filament, and looks much better.
Hi. Thank you for your video. Very helpful. I just purchased the files. Dis you add supports? If so, how was the orientation on the rear bezel please. Thank you.
I did use supports. They have a pdf to show where the supports should go. The rear bezel was printed back side down. It is not hard to figure out otherwise.
Great video.
