Guandong Lau Gar Kuen - 广东 刘家拳 - Short Docu + Extras
-General Information:
Lau Gar Kuen is one of the five great styles in Guandong Province besides Hung, Choy, Lee, Mo Family Kung Fu. There are three men credited with the creation of Lau Gar Kuen. A man called Liu Sheng, Liu Qingshan and Liu Sanyan. To this day it seems disputed who it was.
I am usually not a docu guy but this one seemed to be a strictly private production. The docu is around 6 minutes. Since luckily someone filmed additional material that wasnt used in the docu I found some of it and added it.
-Technical Aspects:
The bridges seem to be pretty short and mostly hard. I think you can see some of the stepping that was later added to Hung Kuen and interestingly enough a part of the closing salute is Southern Shaolin.

So are they saying that this branch of Lau Gar was never part of Hung Gar? I thought the stand-alone system was extinct. Interesting.

Obviously there are some similarities, but Lau Gar has always been a standalone martial art. A lot of the features are unique and not shared by many other of the Lingnan systems.
