Thanks a lot for the information, my cayenne pepper seeds just germinated. It took four days , I was delighted when I seen that they had germinated :D .
I think the baby noise made all the difference! LOL
I like this method. I do this and put the bags in my garage since it is 70F at night and 85F during the day. They germinate very quickly. I prefer the "paper towel" method since I can see exactly what seeds are germinating and which ones are not viable. It's better than waiting and watching soil without knowing about anything that's happening underneath. ^_^
u planted it upside down u should plant the white end(which is the root) in the soil and leave the seed head expose itll germinate better
Yeah I knew he did. But thanks for the tip about leaving the seed exposed.
Thanks! I'm going to try this with green beans.
Thank you for this :)
Thank you very much
thanks man!
I received giant pumpkin seeds in the mail last year. Need to know using the paper towel baggie trick. I also filed the edges. I wet a full paper towel, rung it out to moist as instructed. Placed the seed in it. Pressed down on damp paper towel to make sure of contact. Sealed zip lock baggie. Put a towel on the tv receiver which is warm placed seeds on towel and covered with the other half of towel. How long before they germinate. Been 4 days. They seem fuller at this time.thanks
I also like to see people's faces. I'm not deaf, but I read lips. I live with low talkers so I am in the habit of reading lips now.
Now I know, why my chili seeds never grew in to a plant. I simply dumped the seeds on soil and watered. That method sometimes work, sometimes not.
I put it on top of the fridge, don't put it in the fridge cause they will never sprout. They need warmth.
How often did u have to spray the paper towel after you put them into the plastic bag?
is it possible to have to any seeds on the paper towel
does this method work for any type of seed?
Whenever the paper towel dries up, dampen it @sorrowdreamz
i dont fold mine i just damp the paper towel and drop the seeds on the towel one at a time and litterally like a day latter they started growing and every single ones do it they seem to be growing pretty fast.
i dont understand...my red chilli seeds are in paper towel for abt 7 days now...but they have turned black and there is no germination....where im wrong...ive put it on the window and temp here is abt 30 degrees
Might be holding the camera.
I'm doing this for school for my AP Biology class. If the paper towel dries up do I need to wet it again? What's the average time it takes for the seed to sprout once it's been germinated?
Virginia Mora yes you can moist it with spray if it dries. It depends on the seeds germination time.
I tried it but I'm not having any luck.
I did the baby noise part but didn't work :'(
what happened to your other arm?
Im trying to germinate Sakura seeds using the baggie method. I placed them in damp paper towel with water and 10% peroxide, but they keep getting mold. What am I doing wrong and how can I prevent this?
Jared Schrock keep them in refrigerator after placing them in bags. Also put less hydrogen peroxide. About 3 % is enough
Nasir Saeed no you have to put it over something warm like a dvd player
I gotta go open my ziplocks a little, thanks
Is the baby noise absolutely nescessary? ;)
you can put the baby in the crib and have the wife hold the camera for the 1 minute 50 seconds it took you to make this, which, probably would have been rendered down to 30 seconds, because you would have had both of your hands.
+shakaama Will remember this for the future!
you can be less rude.
i'm a computer like person. just facts.
wasn't trying to be rude, but trying to get a better "view" I could have just clicked off the video the second i saw it, and not said anything.
Jon Curt you meanie. Now you've made me cry.
I'm kidding. I literally don't have feelings.
It's not your fault. Many people have a tendency to jump to the worst possible conclusion, especially when they can't discern your tone of voice. I'm assuming Jon is an American or perhaps Canadian. The reason I say this is because of his reaction.
North American social conventions (and British to a lesser extent) affect the way people speak because they have made it the social norm to express yourself in the most prudent and conciliatory way possible. The slightest bit of ambiguity causes great offense in those who wish to take it.
In fact, I am certain many people would take offense to what I just typed because they would interpret it as an attack on "those who wish to take it".
Isn't it fun to walk on eggshells all the time? It's why I haven't really interacted with people much since I moved to the U.S.
