namk2 I was thinking the same thing. Then again, last year was Camel Up and blah, what a dud that was. My family, who likes lighter games, really didn't like that one... This one seems a little better at least.
The components can be a problem too: they seem too light. As a result, moving stuffs is like playing Jenga without winning anything. You can knock by mistake the the wagons and there are too few wagons.
This looks like a fun game, but my initial though when seeing what the game looked like was proven true in the video - trying to move the pieces will be awkward.
A nightmare to some OCD people :) To be fair though, Dan was probably standing behind the camera while trying to move the pieces. Should be a bit easier to do this while sitting normally at the table.
Dan, how would you compare "Colt Express" to "Walk the Plank!"? I want to have easy-fast-fun party programming game and considering getting one of these?
I'm not sure the board is innovative. Steam park did the 3D board component last year. Which was actually done quite a bit in the 80's early 90's. Personally I would worry about what the train looks like a year from now. Steam Parks componets start to get a little ruffled after a few plays. Thanks for the honest review Dan.
"Don't expect this to win Game of the Year"
.. wins 2015 Spiel des Jahres
namk2 Nice! Who knew!??? Obviously not me, but I'm not the only one surprised about this (especially from before the nominations came out)

Which programming games would you rate higher than this one (since you said it's not your favorite)?
Walk the Plank is my favorite. However it is very light and pretty chaotic. But it always provides a real fun experience.

Will there be a review for its expansion?
This one reminds me of Abyss (good but not great game + fancy components).
Also the 3D "board" looks a bit fiddly.
Exactly. And, yeah- even in the video, everything was less stable than you'd like. Zero interest in either of those titles.
I so want to play this haha. Can't wait! Great review
All hail the Game Boy Geek!
This looks like a great party game! Could even use as a gateway to more in-depth programming games. Can't wait until its released!

Walk the Plank is my favorite quick programming game. Streamlined, quick, and always a ton of fun!
The plural of cactus is cacti
Actually, it's cactuseseses. Lol

for all your production values you have a terrible hiss in your recording setup
