The Beatles: Rock Band is a 2009 music video game developed by Harmonix. The intro for the game features virtual portrayals of the four band members performing the songs throughout the band's history, including depictions of some of their famous live performances, as well as a number of "dreamscape" sequences for songs from the Abbey Road Studios recording sessions during the group's studio years.

The art style is so subtle yet you can tell exactly who’s who just by minor details and face structure
I’m always impressed by an artists ability to capture the essence of a face with such a simplified depiction. One that alway comes to mind is that famous scribble of John, it’s like 4 squiggly lines and you can still tell who it is.

When you realize, 7 years after spending all your time as a kid on this game, that this intro as been directed by Alberto Mielgo, who is now known for having directed spiderman into the spider verse, the short film "the Witness" from love+death and robots, and more recently the trailer for watch dogs legion.

It's not the same "George Harrison". From 1962-66, George was played by Terry Johnston. After 1966, a double took over.
I always feel disappointed by that bit. Like, them not moving on the crossing just feels off. They could've done that bit slightly fun by looking back at their former selves and trip over the ensuing crowd.

in an alternate universe where all four beatles were still alive and touring, this would make a great thing to play on the big screens at concerts before they’d play live
I never did play the game but this intro is ingrained in my head and I don't think it's ever going to leave it. The animation is so wonderful depicting their rise from their small underground beginnings to being one of the biggest bands in the world. Wonderful, always wonderful.
I’m not even a fan but trust me, they were by far THE biggest entertainment act in the world and were the figureheads of a social revolution.

My whole family, especially my mom’s side, including myself, big Beatles fans. New Year’s Eve 2009 party. My uncle and his step kids brought over The Beatles Rock Band for Wii, along with all the instruments as we didn’t have them ourselves. And the whole family, even my grandfather, who’s the biggest Beatles fan out of everyone, played all night long. Midnight happens, and we continued for at least a couple more hours. Definitely the best possible way to kick off the 2010s.
I would buy all the instruments myself just to get this game if I had the chance.
Fun Fact... Alberto Mielgo was the Art Director for this intro. The creator of "The Witness" and "Jibaro" from the Love Death & Robots Netflix series. Also art Director for "Tron:Uprising". His art style is amazing.

If John lived to see this, I think he would’ve absolutely loved it and appreciated the artistry and magical quality. It’s outstanding. Who knows, he might’ve played the game too lol.

I remember being completely oblivious of their existence...
Four years ago my now best friend invited me to play games to his house, I remember reading “The Beatles” on the Screen wondering what it was, I remember very vividly how the how I felt when the first song started... It was “Sgt.Pepper/With a Little Help From My Friends” and oh boy did I just discovered a new world, that was the moment I falled in love with music.
They inspired me to be a better person, now I play the drums in a little garage band I have with my friends

So almost a year ago my best friend became obsessed with the Beatles (in a healthy way lol) and sometimes she would send me random Beatles pics or videos and I’ll watch them (they were more memes cuz she was afraid that I’ll started hating them) and I really liked the memes. Before her I only knew three Beatles songs (yesterday, hey Jude and Eleanor rigby) so one day I went to RUclips to listen some of their songs bc I was curious why she loved them so much. I didn’t *love* their songs as my friend did, but some months later our music teacher stopped with our normal classes (about classical music and that) and he said that we should listen more to good music so he send us a homework to listen Beatles song and record ourselves singing. I noticed that I already knew some songs, but I didn’t want to sing the most mainstream songs, so I dig more into their music and felt in love with them. That’s how I started listening more to rock music, cuz I was actually more into classical music lol

I have my mom and this game to thank for getting me into The Beatles. Now I’m learning Bass left handed and getting ready to start doing shows playing Paul for Britain’s Finest Beatles tribute.
It was also wonderful meeting Ardy and Gavin from the Fab Four, and finding out they did a lot of the motion capture for this game.

the way twist and shout ends and the opening chord of a hard day's night is sneakily hidden behind it is so perfect
They absolutely nailed it. I like the details of Paul's head shaking, John's wide leg stance. George's leg tapping and Ringo's head banging. Just brilliant.

Honestly there are so many easter eggs I probably missed a bunch. I didn't cover some of the more obvious ones like the freeze-frame photographs or the Cavern, but I tried to make this as complete as possible. I believe we can all agree on just how iconic and important the Beatles were in the 20th century and how much they influenced various generations of music.
