You could also simply use a middle drawer for both, with a large front (outside lower) and a middle front above (inside above). There's enough support and plenty of room.
Ok I was able to fit it after cutting the utrusta drawer front bottom to be more flush with the drawer bottom and then I drilled new holes on the side of the sektion cabinet 4mm lower than (and on a diagonal to) the holes I was using before the hack. I think this worked.
where did you get the smaller front as so far on the IKEA UK website we can not figure out how to get the fronts that fit inside for the hidden. we are pulling our hair out
@@beyondutility even though the website says the draw front is 60mm ? Surely if internal hidden draw the front needs to be 56mm or the draw won’t close inside the unit ?

How did you recess the internal drawer and still get a drawerfront on it. Aren't all the Maximera draw units either 24" or 14" deep. The internal drawer you show seems to look alot deeper than 14" so I would assume its a 24".
Adam Newman it's a standard thing with IKEA kitchens. Their hinges have 6 holes so you use a different set of holes and position the hinge slightly further back to allow for the double front.
Oh i see. I thought that maybe I could somehow use those Maximera drawers inside my non-Ikea standard 24 inch kitchen cabinets but I suspect the drawfronts would end up sticking out to far. Wish Ikea made 23" or even a 20" version of those drawers. They make a 14" version but that would leave so much wasted space behind them.
Don't know about your kitchen but these units are 590mm deep so the drawer must be less than 24" and therefore probably would fit, but best to check. The IKEA site usually has exact dimensions of items on there.
3 years on and there still seems to be absolutely zero info on the size/product code for the inner hidden drawer as the standard 20, 40, 60 widths won't recess within the cupboard space. The IKEA site doesn't even recommend the correct inner drawer parts even though there's a video showing this an indeed by done with the Maxi range... Quite frustrating, if anyone can pint me in the right direction id be very grateful.
Not 100% sure what you mean the but the inner hidden drawer is the same as the other drawers, you make it recessed by using different holes to secure the slides. It's in the instructions of the maximera drawer range. Usually people go for the plain white front like we did.
Matt, like you I found it very difficult to find the product name for the inner drawer front. Look at Utrusta, available in low, medium. & high These fronts are 55.5cm in length. (Or width as described in the Ikea product dimensions) I have ordered just one front to try out first. Very vague.
I hsve fitted a medium inside a large at the top, with an ajustment to the screw holes.
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for.

I'm trying this in Canada and 2019 and it doesn't work. The medium hidden drawer overlaps with the top drawer just barely

We are building cabs right now and cant find instructions for hidden inside the medium drawer.

They're Utrusta fronts in low medium and high depending on the height of the drawer.

Would I be able to fit one of these hidden drawers into a wren unit?
Great video - What is the name of the drawer front that you used? Did it come with the drawer? If not, how much less size did you go with? Thanks!
Thanks!
Dear do you have orange rails for the small inside drawers ? Thanks x
