Nicely done. Thank you for sharing. The last time that I moused a hook, the hook was a part of a backyard squirrel feeder. Initially, the feeder was an eye screw into the base of a corn cob, which was then hung from a hook. The squirrels simply unhooked the eye screw and carried it off, along with the corn cob. Mousing the hook discouraged all further thefts. It also entertained me for a while.
this is old school rigging. yes it works. yes it makes the hook stronger. yes it works as a safety latch. but most schools of method don't allow you to use rope and twine like this anymore, and its unfortunate, because many old publications actually have strengths of this method recorded. i guess people just don't know how to tie knots anymore.
Hey man, LOVE your work. Been a fan for years!! Side question, where did you get your marlin spike? It's really cool. Thanks and have a great weekend!!

Oh yes, there is a lot of terminology.................. I live in constant fear of getting it wrong!!

Sadly, I don't think the guy makes them any more. However, there is a FB group called; Rope Cords Tools Supplies, you could ask in there.
