He’s been doing great nowadays! He’s with a bunch of other prog metal related projects doing similar stuff to DT, him, Jordan and JP are still in Liquid Tension Experiment together, DT are still on very good terms with him, even Mangini is great friends with him!
"Wow nice F# James" "Thank God I don't do that anymore" :( And Petrucci made the SAME comparison I make with his tone back in the say. Sounds like single coils with too much gain.
that's because the dimarzio pickups he has on his guitar are legitimately designed to sound like single coils (higher frequency bite and more "focused" tone)
@@user-ge2vc3rl1n Well he was using that Steve's Special in the bridge. For some reason he swapped from the Tone Zone to the Steve's Special. The Tone Zone was used on I&W btw
@@HalenShredder Well that and he wasn't treating his voice right either. I mean just listen to how he was hammering his voice in 93 and 94 (prior to the poisoning)
The thing I noticed about the JPM’s he used in this concert is the apart from the mounting rings, the toggle switch is set close to the volume knob and directly under the bridge pickup as show in 1:07:29 and 1:11:52. His official JPM’s have the switch in the middle of the pickups
I wish every band did commentaries like this. Listening to the guys goof on themselves is always the greatest
I love that Portnoy remember details of all kind of things, he love the band and was main part of his soul, probably now days has a broken heart

I bought this DVD a few years ago, I watch it at least once a month and, weirdly enough, I've never watched without the commentary :D
What's the DVD called?
@@metropolis9323 images and words live in Tokyo. But you can find a nice bundle with 5 years in a livetime. Both have very nice comments
If you're into Steve Vai, get Live At The Astoria London-- excellent commentary from the guys that made up "The Breed" back in that day.
I've enjoyed watching this so much, thank you for uploading.
3:27 i agree 100% with myung, petrucci needs to do a picasso music man
10:48 "I'm sure Jay was baked at that point 😂"
JP should listen to JM's suggestion of a Picasso reissue (3:28)
I agree!! A musicman version!!!
"John Myung's hair changed a lot..."
Myung is hilarious
So weird to hear that 93' were in 11 years ago 🤪🤣🤣

The JPM's you see on this video are the version for the Japanese market. They are a bit different than the version sold for the rest of the world.
@@TheDarkEternalKnight07 does that mean there’s been more JPM’s made all across the board? The prices went from $2,000-2,500 in 2016 to $4-8,000 today
The guitar he's playing here is a custom shop. I don't think the JPM went on sale until a couple years after this.
JM doesn’t age
