      @@shareaccountwithmum Honey, it was supposed to scare you so that you would think twice to prevent doing something that would cause a fire maybe it would give children nightmares but to be fair fire safety is an important lesson that we need to learn, I mean why do you think the fire services come to schools? Why do you think schools have fire extinguishers and things? Why are parents advised to teach children not to hide in the wardrobe or under the bed in a fire? To teach one of life's important lessons. If your children did have nightmares about it just comfort them and give them a big hug, that would calm them down.

      I guess PIFs are mostly broadcast on radio at night or at noon when there's not that many people around and there's unsold ad space. Frankly, I'm relieved we have nearly none on radio right now, because I was terrified of a water safety radio PIF after hearing it on radio when I was younger. People drowning is not a thing you want to hear at midnight.

    • @kaitlyn__L
      @kaitlyn__L 3 года назад +2

      Thankfully the new smarter interconnected ones that some parts of the UK are mandating now have a “less smoke, wait longer to go off” type feature so that a little bit of burnt toast shouldn’t set it off (as long as you open a window or turn on the extractor). Thereby removing the incentive to remove them from the kitchen. But something smouldering away actively should still set them off.

    It's nice having radio ads uploaded. They're a bit more niche, you don't hear them as much/there's little archived out there (I guess Radiocentre), and it's a nice change of pace from a visual advert.
    Would like to get some details on some of the more well-known voices. A few have been mentioned here, but 3:00 sounds really familiar to me.
