    There is just something about this channel that no other 'documentary/research' channel has. It's soothing, it's intriguing and it's respectable. I think a lot of that is a result of you man, and the way your voice sounds. It's so calm and soothing. And the ambience in the background just adds to it. I love this channel man. :)

    The idea of the "Yeti" is pretty realistic, think of a gorilla but in order to survive in cold temperatures it would need more fur and the snow might change its colour. Also if there are bigger predators where it lives it would also adapt.

    • @NikesZ28
      @NikesZ28 7 лет назад +3

      Something that makes me question it is food, a yeti the size of an polar bear needs a lot of food and thats hard to find there. Think of polar bears that need to eat seals and similar fatty animals to survive.
      But, im just speculating here!

    • @mattriella6776
      @mattriella6776 7 лет назад +1

      thats a very common sense speculation.....and pretty spot on....something the size of a polar bear would have the appetite of a polar bear...and the only place a polar bear would be spotted is somewhere close to the water where it can satisfy that appetite...you won't find them in the frigid snow capped mountains unless their is a water source close by...yeti would be a carnivore if he were real.even gorilla's pack on weight but they're not a tall animal , and don't eat meat..so tey would not be anything that could be mistaken for a yeti.

    It's sad that big cats are considered "mysterious" now. Before we know it, tigers, lions, elephants, etc will all become extinct and we will tell our children how we used to have such beautiful animals on our planet but humanity was too cruel.

    For future reference, TOP 5's, there is no single species of cat called a black panther. All black fur is a genetic mutation called melanism. A black panther can either be a black jaguar or a black leopard.

      The old show called Destination Truth from the SyFy channel covered that, what they found was a fossilized footprint of a dinosaur but as for actual evidence, they concluded it could be misidentification by the eye-witnesses. Possibly what those people were seeing was a Rhea, a large flightless bird similar to an ostrich or an Emu.

      Chilean Nyaminyami. My family who live in Chile tell of a tale but my Uncle swore to his life he encountered it/or them while driving through Arica and La Patagonia. He spotted it about 70 meters from his car when it went away in the desert. Who knows if he was telling the truth or but a tale.

      Grimbot2 Some people believe that dinosaurs were bigger in the ancient days because there were more trees, and with that, more oxygen. It's possible then that because there are far less trees now than the ancient prehistoric times they lived in, their species would have gotten much smaller over the years yet maintain similar characteristics.

    • @bloodofphantoms
      @bloodofphantoms 7 лет назад +1

      Grimbot2 It doesn't even have to be the example given in the video, because crocodiles and even komodo dragons kinda support that theory.

      Yes, there is actually, since our technology is not as proved as much and so are our citizens of the world are not then of course there will be. Ex: underwater creatures who live far within the surface, how can we discover them? We can't and could. We just have to improve our knowledge, beliefs, and ourselves.

    My grandparents have a house that backs out onto a field with a bit of woods at the back of it. There's often lots of deer.
    Well, they had some friends staying from elsewhere in the country and one of them went outside in the early morning, for a cigarette, he said he saw a black cat like thing in the field. He had no idea that black panthers in the area was a thing, as well.
    Seems plausible.

      Well, if the first Panthers release from captivity in England had this black fur mutation it would reason to assume their descendants would too, which would be why all the big kitties seen today are black kitties. Maybe some don’t have the mutation or whatever but more prolly will because that’s how punnet squares work.

    i saw the big black panther when i was a child. I remember it vividly. i saw it at night, i was in my dinning room, and we had big patio doors at the time. I saw it walk across the steps next to the doors. It was massive , it covered from one door to the other. It had glowing yellow/goldish eyes and it was staring st me for a good 10 seconds. i was frozen with fear. this wasnt at a distance, i was standing right infront if it with the closed patio doors between us. i then ran into the livingroom crying and my family asked what was wrong. i could barley speak and then point towards the dinning room. The checked but it was gone at the time. Back then, we used to live in a house that was next to a farm that had many sheep.

    I love your videos and all the topics in them. But I must say that I honestly don't think trolls should be on this list. It belongs to a "mythical creatures" list, not on a "rarest/most mysterious animals list".
    With my 25 years, born and raised in Norway, I have never met anyone that actually believes in trolls or think they ever actually existed. (Although I am sure exceptions exist.) The stories of the trolls were more than likely made up to stop children from going into the woods at nighttime. Another important thing to mention is that Norway has a lot of huge forests and mountains. Trolls are often depicted as having trees on top of them, just like a real mountain. And at nighttime, you can often see faces and bodies in these huge dark mountains and forests. Today we call that phenomenon Pareidolia, but back in the day they didn't have an explanation as to why they saw faces and bodies. So they made up stories. There are no modern stories or real evidence of trolls ever existing to my knowledge. No (real) pictures, no encounters, no nothing. I am sure if there were any, it would be all over the news here. Sadly, they only exist in the folktales that we tell our children.

    • @johnselwitz5362

      Jose Ochoa Most likely due to the threat of them killing livestock, such as sheep

    • @pca1987
      @pca1987 7 лет назад

      Jose Ochoa If they're not native, I think it would be an ok solution. Maybe they could capture them and put them into a zoo. But that's more complicated than it sounds. The zoos must be prepared for receiving the new animals, etc. Here, they're native (the jaguar, not the leopard) and when people kill'em I think it's really unfair... But here the usual solution is capturing them and releasing them into a protected area afterwards.

      kyoku1982 Thats why I said "Or so they say".probably to take the public's mind off of the fact that released/escaped pumas managed to breed,adapt and survive in the UK's countryside.Also,your cougars/pumas have lived there for their whole lives while those were there since the 80's so they might not have had enough time to adapt successfully as there might not be anything to hunt especially during harsher winters when farmers keep their animals indoors at all time.Im jut spit balling here,could all be BS at the end of the day

      I've seen a black panther in Scotland. It was actually quite close and I was terrified it was going to attack me but all it did was look at me then run. I was gutted I couldn't get a picture but I was on an outward bound course and we had to hand our phones in at the start of the week and get them back when we were going home

    I've never seen a big cat in the wild but I've seen possible evidence of their existence. Last month, walking on the Quantock Hills in Somerset, I came across two sheep carcases that had been opened up and 'gutted', leaving only the bones behind. I've also seen a deer carcass in a similar state, close to the Mendip Hills.
    A friend of mine claims she once saw a black big cat at Great Wood, which is quite a frequently visited part of the Quantocks (mountain bikers, hikers, barbecues...).

      Olly Parry-Jones I'm not saying I don't believe the big cats in UK story. I actually do. The only question I have is 'why are the cats always black?' I ask that, because jaguars are indigenous to where I leave and, though there are black jaguars, the black ones can and have spot coated cubs. It's not a "if it's black the cubs will be black too". It doesn't happen like that. So, even if everyone had the black coated animals back then (I really doubt that), nowadays we should probably have spoted ones too.
      In the case of the leopard, I think it's the spoted ones that can have black cubs. Anyway, if that's the species invplved, did people only have black animals back then? I doubt it. So it should be spoted ones too...
      I''m going to tell my opinion on the matter. I suppose there are spoted cats (be them jaguarsbor leopards - we don't really know by those terrible pictures or footages), but by looking it from a distance or just glancing it people suppose they're all black... It can also be a camuflage thing. But I think it's the 'they see some big dark/ shadowy cat thing moving and suppose they're black' thing.
      What do you think?
      And also, it's a cool story, isn't it? Big misterious animals that a lot of people see or find evidence from.

      That's a very interesting point. I can't recall having seen or read a story where someone refers to having seen a 'spotted' or 'non-black' big cat. As you say; perhaps it's how they appear from afar. You rarely hear of incidents where these cats get very close to people.
      I think we're very fortunate when we do see anything, as they are natural predators, living in the wild and unlikely to intentionally expose themselves.

      ***** Jaguarundis are really small. They weight around 6kg. I've even helped treating one that was ran over by a car and ended up on our vet hospital. Yep I do live in South America (Brazil) and I'm a vet. They're not little known, actually. Not here anyway.
      Since they're so small it's really hard to think people mistake them for a really big panther-like creature...

    In a part of Northern Australia, where humans originally got to the continent almost 60 000 years ago, the aboriginal culture's belief is that they came from across the sea, while the people from the rest of Australia, believe they were always there.
    This means that for over 50 000 years, stories passed down in this small region of Australia, that they came from across the sea, long ago.
    ...so about trolls, I wonder if any of this originates with neanderthals? What if the folklore originated in ancestors telling tales for thousands of years, back from when the time we coexisted with neanderthals?

    If you look at a chicken, pigeon, turkey, hawk, etc you are seeing dinosaurs. Smaller theropods survived to our time, seeing a dinosaur is technically unimpressive.

    I have been following your account for a short time now. And I am from Norway. It's fun that you mentioned Trolls. Trolls have been in the Norwegian folklore since the "beginning". And the are a lot of children stories about them.
    Keep up your good work!
