I used to live there in the 80's. Winters are great and even summers are not that bad, humidity is low so it in not uncomfortable at all. Even in summer one can hike in late afternoons and evenings. Because it is a desert, temperature falls down quickly after the sunset. The weather is so stable that you seldom need to listen to the forecast. The sprawling campus of the University of Arizona is very vibrant and cosmopolitan.
Tucson has some wonderful things, but the roads are terrible. Potholes everywhere. In some parts of the city it’s doesn’t even feel like being in the USA with respect to road conditions.

You missed the main reasons people don't like Tucson. The heat in the summer. Its only second to Phoenix in that respect, its unbearable unless you have A/C or a Swamp Cooler. Expect a high electric bill in the summer to pay for your A/C. High rents too.The roads full of potholes, expect damage to your cars suspension, lack of street lighting, poor street drainage so expect flooding in the monsoon, and too much traffic and a lot of road rage.

I live here in the suburbs. Came from Midwest. Love it here. Weather in winter is near perfect. Spring warm with nice breezes. Summer hot but the monsoon’s bring really pretty thunderstorms with lightning displays and fall warm with nice breezes. Tucson has a couple nice malls and plenty of high end resorts. In my opinion it’s beautiful especially in the foothills with all the desert trees. SO much prettier than let’s say Phoenix metro. Plus 9000 foot MT.Lemmon with gorgeous pine trees is not too far away.
Living in Tucson for about 12 years. I learned you have to be careful when it comes to driving people in Tucson, who can't drive. Summer lasts 6 to 7 months out of the year. It can be 80 degrees but it feels hotter. The roads out here suck and construction is constant.
I was raised in Tucson in the 50s and 60s and I can tell you that it was a great place to grow up then. Don't know so much about now though as govt and demografics have changed.

Yes the heat is verrrrry hot 🥵 in the summer. If someone isn’t used to it, it might be rough. The nice thing is that we don’t have a lot of humidity most of the time. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Hi there! I do have a video on this channel about renting in the Tucson area, but it was made several years ago and I need to redo the video. The last I checked, the average rental in Tucson was going for about $2000 a month, although of course you can get much less expensive and much more expensive, it just depends on what you’re looking for. I don’t personally do rentals but there are a few websites. I recommend for searching for rentals. Feel free to contact me directly and I can give you more information. Thank you!
I lived there for 4 years (early 90s), and I had only 3 real negatives about life there. July/August were absolutely miserable temperatures....while 7 months out of the year (especially winter). 2nd, the water had a funny taste, and after 4 months....I gave up on tap water for anything beyond coffee. 3rd, getting from one end of town to the other....was a massive pain.
Yes! All of this is so true! A lot of people here have reverse osmosis systems to filter the taste of the tap water. And yes, it’s a hassle to go from one end of the city to the other. (And I can confirm all this, as a real estate agent). 🤣
Why does the water taste so bad? I live in a city in central Alberta, Canada most peeps drink the tap water but I never drink the tap water 'cause the chemicals make it taste horrible.
@@spartacusyoya Around Tucson, there are 'filling' stations where you bring your 5-gallon water container....put the cash in, an your bottle is filled with 'filtered' water from the city system. In most large food stores in our city there are filtered water dispensers but it is a pain to have to haul 5 gal jugs back home. I add a pinch of sea salt and a little bit of baking soda to filtered water to get re-mineralization and increase pH. Sometimes I will buy a bottle of quality high pH spring water or high pH purified water and mix that with filtered water to create a quality drinking water. There are several trailer parks that are nicer and safer than Civano. Biggest bad investment I ever made. Oh, and abortion rallies every Saturday. I feel like its time for me to move out of my home town (Reno, NV) and see whats out there but I'm really nervous because I'm the type of person who looks at crime rates and stuff like that even though I live in a college/casino town 😅
It definitely depends on the area of town. We don’t have a lot of condos here but we have some nice ones in the foothills but those are expensive because everything is expensive in that area.
I would honestly love moving there but the downfall is i never experienced living in Arizona before, and i know they struggled with good water, thats mainly my only problems and i dont know if its expensive or hard for a cost of living. It's an interesting clip and an upbeat speaker. However, I'd hoped for an honest assessment of the pros AND cons, not a coyly worded all compliments clip. This clip leaves me still with no idea of the downsides of living in Tucson as it lacks objectivity. Saying you won't like Tucson if you don't like biking is ridiculous. If someone is not a cyclist they could still love Tucson. They'd just not cycle. Same with saying you wouldn't like Tucson if you didn't like art, or stargazing, or bird watching. That's silly. I appreciate the narrator's enthusiasm and love of the city. But I am looking for an honest assessment, warts and all, rather than a cheerleading chant.
I was stationed there in the 90s, low key one of the dopest places in America. But what about those mountain lion attacks ? I remember hearing a lot of hikers getting attacked
To be honest in my recollection, I don’t remember any mountain lion attacks in the Tucson area, but it’s certainly possible. It’s always a good idea to keep eyes peeled when out hiking, but it’s much more likely to run into a rattlesnake or other more aggressive animal than a mountain lion
Exactly. 1. Reason not to like Tucson is that it's a career blackhole. If you haven't already made your money elsewhere, don't expect to make it here outside of a very small number of industries.
ive got multiple business now, no where close to being broke, lol nice try at least i dont live in that shithole Tucson. if i was still there i would be just like you working class, thank god i did tho @@rossferguson5786
You wouldn't like Tucson if you are bored by the sunrise or sunset over the Catalinas watching colors change to/from dark turquoise thorough yellow/ orange to saffron and magenta.
Lived there for 13 years. Loved it. COVID hit, California migration hit. Home prices ridiculous, rent ridiculous. Crime ridiculous! Homeless ridiculous! What a shame. All I can say is if you move close to the city and that’s where you do your business, make sure you check the perimeter before getting out of your car. 9 times out of 10 someone will approach you. 0:15 out of ten someone will approach you, and not with good intentions.
Recently spent a week in staying in downtown Tucson as a visitor. The historic buildings and walkability made it quite fun and interesting. However, your downtown is being taken over by drug addicts, mentally ill and homeless. We were told by our hotel to use extreme caution at night and avoid walking. During 7 days we experienced aggressive panhandling, attempted car break-in, mid-day arrest and foot chase and being berated by homeless. We had a very pleasant dinner at a wonderful restaurant one night but the walk back to the car was a sketchy gauntlet of homelessness. Many nice things about downtown, but not in a hurry to return - too bad.
Oh wow really? That’s too bad! I think in all my 40 years in Tucson, I’ve only seen two live scorpions in my home, and I’ve never had any bedbugs, thank goodness! 😬
Tucson seems interesting to me. I lived in Phoenix for a couple of years before going back to my native state of Florida. Thunderstorms meh....that is nothing. Get almost monsoons in Florida. I love art. Plus either high humidity or dry heat is heat. Phoenix and Palm Springs taught me that.
We definitely have some amazing snakes and spiders and lizards here. I don’t know if I’ve ever come in contact with any fire ants here. And I think in all my 40 years of living in Tucson, I’ve been fortunate to only see one rat.
I lived there five years, the things I don't like about Tucson: Trashy people , shitty roads, bad government, lazy and uneducated people, University of Arizona sucks (even ASU is better) crappy DEI mayor and government, city is backward and most of the city has made no progress or growth since the 70s or 80s and looks that way, Whole swaths of the city are incredibly ugly, and lots of crack heads and other drug addicts. The pros include beautiful mountains and National Park and some trails. The food and things she claims in the video are things that any city has and virtually every other place in the US else beats it on every measure. This person in the video said she hasn't lived anywhere else so she has no perspective. The only award this city has ever received is the " city of gastronomy" which was probably just given out for PC reasons and the food they are talking about is mainly mexican food which all cities have now.
I don't know about ASU being better, but your right about government, the roads etc. A great place to visit and live in the 60s and 70s. Downtown was wonderful in the 60s. Alot of history which has been destroyed to build a better more ugly Tucson
Tucson mayor Romero needs to stop her playtime and be a real mayor. It's gotten so bad with illegal immigrants here. Beautifying Tucson is one thing, focus on immigration, the homeless, transportation, fentanyl etc..those sre priorities. She needs to acknowledge that is a big problem here. She went to DC with other city mayors. Romero stuttered in her interview in DC, but never mentioned the immigration issue 🧐. One thing she NEVER has discuss the border issues. AP Reporter saw the percentage of citizens complaining & are unhappy on social media. It's honestly a big problem. And disappointedly we voted for her. 🤨
The mayor and her leftist cronies have ruined this town. Homeless everywhere, crime, drug use, illegals, cutting police force, roads full of potholes. It once was a beautiful town.

We're looking at exiting California, how religious is Tucson? My family are atheists and we currently live in Bakersfield which is highly religious. Social circles run along which church you go to, and when it's known we don't go, we get a lot of shunning.
Ha! I have a video out about roads and traffic in Tucson. My theory is that a ton of people who live here aren’t really from here and don’t actually live here year round. A ton of our residents are either snowbirds who only live here in the winter time, or students who only live here during the school year, or people who move here from other cities and Mexico to stay here for a short period of time just to work here. We have a lot of people coming and going. We’re also a pretty laid-back town where things don’t really move that fast. 😆
Oh you are one of those who can't drive the speed limit and you think someone driving the speed limit is a slow driver, I don't see it that way laws were made are for safety and speed limit is set for safety and if your not following the speed limit then you are part of the problem out here.
@@TucsonArizona I have been advised by a few Tucson cop watchers that the citizens are simply afraid of the cops there. I have watched a handful of their police interactions since then and I see why. The police are not very friendly in Tucson.
Traffic sucks in Tucson. As for art, I'm an artist, and it's rare to find people who love and understand art. Tucson. They do recognize Maynard Dixon. I live in a undisclosed town near Tuson were there is a microclimate, which means we don't get as hot. As for food, I'm at a lost to see why you would go to a Taco Bell.
You are very right these idiots suck at driving out here are some of the most dangerous assholes I have ever seen and the police are just as bad what great role models they are and what really sucks the police never pull these idiots driver over for being so F-in stupid when they drive. Theirs millions of drivers in Phoenix and in the surrounding areas and I find that only about 10% of them suck but in Tucson and the surrounding areas 99% of them drive like shit and are some of the most dangerous driver I have ever encounters worse then in California. They will never stop driving like idiots because they never get pulled over for being stupid drivers.

If you like that sort of thing, 4th Ward Tucson City Councilwoman hosts the political events on Saturdays right in your neighborhood where the children can hear it.
Tuscon looks pretty awesome to me and definitely a lot better than where I live, New York City.
I love it here! 🌵🌵🌵

I like Tucson
Answer: More Clicks
Tucson is a great place to live for sure!
I love it!
The homes are taking over the streets
My girlfriend and I planning on looking at condos in the north east part of tuscon next year. I feel like its time for me to move out of my home town (Reno, NV) and see whats out there but I'm really nervous because I'm the type of person who looks at crime rates and stuff like that even though I live in a college/casino town 😅
Feel free to call me ahead of time. I have some ideas I’ll give you are the areas. I care a lot about crime also
Condos are expensive
@@jess97724 with the job field my girlfriend and I are in, that won't be problem
It definitely depends on the area of town. We don’t have a lot of condos here but we have some nice ones in the foothills but those are expensive because everything is expensive in that area.
No mention of the 4 months you’re trapped at home due to extreme heat.
Definitely true in the daytime that’s why we like going out at night because it’s much more tolerable. Plus a good monsoon rain helps a ton!
@EM-od6gu gotta love our beautiful monsoon season!!!
trapped? lol do you weigh 500 lbs?
Just like in Las Vegas
I would honestly love moving there but the downfall is i never experienced living in Arizona before, and i know they struggled with good water, thats mainly my only problems and i dont know if its expensive or hard for a cost of living.
Edit: i come from minnesota btw, and i would prefer a easier life with more sun, I lived here for 10 years now
Thanks for checking out the channel. I always encourage people to visit Tucson before they move here. I also have a lot of videos on this channel about water and water resources. Have a great weekend!
This video confirms every reason I should move to Tucson. Don't mind if I do!
Hah! That’s the point! It’s great here! If you are thinking about moving here feel free to reach out anytime if you need help with a home search. 😃
She’s a real estate agent in Tucson, she won’t say anything bad about it
Great Breakdown!
Thank you!
What winter like
It’s PERFECT!!! 😍 Actually to be honest…it’s a little chilly for me. It gets down to freezing or a little below. I prefer a dry heat! 🌞
It’s always a good idea to keep eyes peeled when out hiking, but it’s much more likely to run into a rattlesnake or other more aggressive animal than a mountain lion
rents are out of reach for many working people
Exactly. 1. Reason not to like Tucson is that it's a career blackhole. If you haven't already made your money elsewhere, don't expect to make it here outside of a very small number of industries.
I don't see any negatives sounds perfect to me
I love it here 🌵☀️😎
I didn't like Tucson either so I moved to Tennessee and I'm happier ,much happier
I moved to Concord, CA 7 years ago and it's wayyy better than Tucson
@@MandeepKhadka-e4uwhat’s it’s like being a broke renter ?

You were smart I hated Tucson too.

You wouldn't like Tucson if you are bored by the sunrise or sunset over the Catalinas watching colors change to/from dark turquoise thorough yellow/ orange to saffron and magenta.
I agree! 😁
Here are four reasons to avoid Tucson: June, July, August, and September.
Hah! Summer here isn’t for everyone, but there are ways to handle it.😀
@@TucsonArizona Like, own a cottage in Summerhaven?
There are many people that choose that route! That is for sure!
I wish they would do a better job of cleaning up the trash along the roadways and washes. It seems to be getting worse
I agree with you. Certain areas are definitely better than others. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Agree. The weeds overgrown also. And the homeless and drugs worsening. It’s getting to expensive to live here.

Thanks for the view and comment! I hope you found the video helpful! Let me know if you have any questions about the city! Have a great week!
This list is like reverse psychology. You won't like my city if you don't like something reasonably great.
Don't wear too much blue or red down south. And if you like sunshine enjoy it from inside because it's 110 degrees outside from May to October.

Tucson sucks
This is so sad to hear. My city isn’t what it used to be. 😔
Moved to Tuscan moved back to Alaska because in Tucson to many scorpions and bed bugs
Tucson is interesting to me too 😊 I love the monsoons and art scene here
1. snakes 2. big furry spiders 3. fire ants 4. rats 5. lizards
We definitely have some amazing snakes and spiders and lizards here. I don’t know if I’ve ever come in contact with any fire ants here. And I think in all my 40 years of living in Tucson, I’ve been fortunate to only see one rat.

Good luck with that most are expensive & overpriced.

Thanks Jerry!
Sun allergies are pretty crazy. Not a good place if you have a sun allergy.
True
All of these reasons are reasons I SHOULD move to Tucson. This is everything I love and want in my lifestyle.
I love Tucson personally 🌵🌵🌵☀️☀️☀️

We're looking at exiting California, how religious is Tucson? My family are atheists and we currently live in Bakersfield which is highly religious. Social circles run along which church you go to, and when it's known we don't go, we get a lot of shunning.

If you are a heart patient keep looking. Bad place for people with heart and lung problems....I am referring to the horrible summer months.
Why does everyone drive so slow in Tucson?
The police are not very friendly in Tucson.

murals are not a new thing
And definitely not native to Tucson 😅
Overall it’s a good place to live. Homeless population is exploding, and next to the bike paths is where they camp.
Click bait. Not the Contant you’re actually seeking.
You are very right these idiots suck at driving
out here are some of the most dangerous assholes I have ever seen and the police are just as bad what great role models they are and what really sucks the police never pull these idiots driver over for being so F-in stupid when they drive.
HI, what town/are do you recommend that's cooler/higher elevation around Tucson? Cheers! Serge
Good question! I think it really depends on what you are looking for. How far out of Tucson are you looking to go?
Did it win a James beard award
Tucson last James Beard winner was Don Guerra in 2022. There are 2 semifinalista for 2024 as we speak. Flavia Briones and Wendy Garcia.

So, you're saying you won't like Tucson if you like the kind of things most people like!!! In other words, you're trying to get people to move to Tucson so you can sell them a house and make some money! Nice and selfish. Don't tell them about homelessness, crime, heat, etc. Ridiculous
