YARN: CRAFT SMART VALUE NEON #4
    NEEDLE: 4 MM
WHEN YOU KNIT YOUR SWATCH, YOU MUST DECIDE HOW YOU WANT YOUR HAT.
BECAUSE BRIOCHE IS VERY STRETCHY, YOU MIGHT WANT TO STRETCH A BIT, AND COUNT YOUR STITCHES, OTHERWISE YOUR HAT WILL BE TOO LOOSE.
    SWATCH & GAUGE
    HEAD MEASUREMENT: 21”
    6” VS 20 STS = 21” VS [X STS]
    [X STS] = 20 X 21 / 6
    [X STS] = 70
MY CAST ON # IS 70
CAST ON RULE: MULTIPLE OF 8 OR MORE = THIS NUMBER HAS TO BE EVEN NUMBER AS WELL
    i.e) 8, 10, 12, 14
    SET UP R1(MC): ALL KNIT
    SET UP R2(CC): (YF SL1P, WRAP P1)
R1(MC): BRK2TOG, (YF SL1P, BR K2TOG), LAST 1 ST, YF SL1P, AND PUT THE WORIKING YARN OVER RT NEEDLE TO MAKE A LAST BR
R2(CC): (YF SL1P, WRAP BRP2TOG) UNTIL THE END
REP R1 & R2 UNTIL YOUR DESIRE LENGTH, YOU MUST FINISH ON R2 BEFORE DECREASING
ADD SOME MARKERS, MY STS COUNT IS MULTIPLE OF 10
I ADDED THE MARKERS EVERY 10 STS
** BRIOCHE ST ARE 2 STITCHES (MC & CC), BUT COUNT AS 1 ST, IT’S A TEMPORARY 2 STS BECAUSE OF YARN OVER**
    DECREASING
YOU WILL DECREASE 2 STS EVERY MARKERS INCLUDING BEGIN MARKER, BUT FOR THE BEGIN MARKER, YOU DON’T YARN OVER, PLEASE WATCH A VIDEO CAREFULLY
    DR1(MC):
    FOR BEG MARKER DECREASE
YB SLIP BR ST KNITWISE, K3TOG (1 BR ST, 1 REG ST), PSSO, AND THE REST OF STS ARE SAME AS R1
    FROM 2ND MARKERS
1 LAST ST BEFORE THE MARKER, YOU NEED TO DO YF SL1P , THEN SLIDE MARKER
BR ST KNITWISE, K3TOG (1 BR ST, 1 REG ST), PSSO, AND THE REST OF STS ARE SAME AS R1
    DR2: (YF SL1P, WRAP BRP2TOG)
DR3: SAME AS R1 (NO DECREASE!!!)
    DR4: SAME AS DR2
    REP DR1 ~ DR4 UNTIL 2 STS (1 BR ST & 1 REG ST) BETWEEN MARKERS
    WHEN 2 STS LEFT AFTER DR1, I DID DR2 & DR3
CLOSE THE GAP ON TOP OF HAT

I have a question and I hope you can help me. I did a swatch in the flat using your other video and it is beautiful! However with my hat in the round the look is much different. It is flat and not squishy. The knit columns are much smaller than the purl columns and it does not have the same depth or dimension. I know I did the stitches correctly, used the same yarn and needle size. Do you have any idea why it is so flat?

Hi, hmmmm, is it possible to send me some photos of your project including your swatch, either facebook or instagram, both under Beginner's LUCKraft. Also did you use a pattern to knit a hat? Let me know!

Oh my, thank you so much for responding! I have already ripped out my "in the round" but I can send a picture of my swatch on facebook but without the "in the round" you would have nothing to compare to. I thought it might be that the yarn is being stretched to make it around my 16 inch circular needle which makes it flat? I really don't know. Do I perhaps need to use magic loop? I have 70 stitches just like your example. I am going to try one more time with different yarn on the 16 inch circular because I really don't like magic loop. Your hats are so beautiful and squishy! I really want mine to look like that too! I will let you know how my third try goes with different yarn if you don't mind. Thank you! @@BeginnersLUCKraft

I am ready to do the decrease and I am going to try magic loop. Where do you suggest that I seperate the stitches into two halves? Exactly in half will be 35 stitches on each side but I thought it might be less confusing with the markers to spilt after a marker. Not sure. Please advise. Thank you!

I lost brain cells watching that, lol. Far too advanced for me at this stage but I have to say when I am ready to try it this will be the tutorial I use. You are a very good instructor. Thanks for sharing your method.

Thank you for your comment! I actually know exactly how you feel! I used to have a same problem when I tried to knit a brioche. Have you watched my basic brioche lesson tutorials? There are 3 patterns, 1 color in flat, 2 colors in flat, and 2 colors in round brioche knitting. Here is the playlist. ruclips.net/video/rb7jP3fuOrw/видео.html
I believe you need to practice little by little, that’s the key to success! Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
