- On the 29th of June, The makers behind pet simulator X released the game, after the countdown for release has ended. The game started off by exploding in popularity and a lot of people like KonekoKitten, expressed their gratitude by calling it a good game, and being happy for the developers. But it’s the 17th of April, and it’s almost been 2 years since the game released. How in the world did the owner of Pet Simulator X, Preston, become one of the most HATED people on the entire Roblox platform?

One time, my friend had billions of diamonds worth of pets in his bank, but because of an exploit, he lost almost the WHOLE BANK. While he did use the P2W aspect, it was still the main reason why my friend quit the game, even after spending thousands of Robux. I also lost some pets, but since I use F2P, i didn't have anything valuable.

BSS has this insane aspect of grinding as a simulator, but because you can't get far with P2W (unless your a billionaire) most people say the game is amazing. Even though most people don't get far, it still has a fairly active player base because the game has amazing updates without using P2W

The thing is that the game not only makes extra expensive things but it doesn't let a chance to free2plays, which, is why Preston is so hated.
Making people take months for grinding is not something that a game should do to their free 2 play community.
Hate him for a game? You must have nothing better to do. If you don't like the game, then take your losses and stop playing.

the free to play players had every right to call out the pay to win thing right from the start. this reminds me of lots of games i played back when all i had was a phone that gave in and became pay to win. it's heart wrenching.
Ahwoken studios is another one, they've renamed themselves to Lyrical Studios now to avoid the backlash they'd been getting. They started out with Era of Althea, a really good fantasy rpg game for it's time based off of Sword Art Online's game mechanics and Black Clover's magic system. Yk, very unique. After a period of 3-4 months the game became a buggy mess and instead of fixing their broken game, they straight up gave up on it and sold the same game to multiple people branching out into another separate area of "Era of Althea" drama. After that they planned on making a dragon ball z game which they **also** gave up on after taking money and donations too from various other people. Then they started working on some Naruto game called "Arisen" which seems promising but the last I joined their server they created some Mha game called "era of quirks" which is a cashgrab and their reasonign for that is "Era of quirks is to fund Arisen, our main project". Given their history so far though, I have 0 faith in them
The thing is what has been doing is making update to kinda remove the f2p community, so only people who spend robux on his game will play it. It takes months of grinding just for a f2p player to get a huge, just one, and Preston releases an update that makes you delete it for basically no reason. While if ur a p2w player it’s basically just free huge pets, since they can just buy them with gems (which they can just buy from the shop)

Tbh you don't need to buy the Robux eggs, you just need to keep track of pet values and find good snipes and flippables.
For getting a huge as a total f2p player you only need a week, nightfox proved that
Build Into Games was the best game creation group by far back in 2016. Guest Quest was something else back then. It is sad to see the turn they took .

you pay the robux, and get the pet shown there. nothing else.
nowadays, you pay 400 robux for a egg that's worth around 20b gems and you have a 1% CHANCE of getting something decent, which is the huge pet of course. If you don't, you get a companion pet that's worth the same as an event pet, those which you get for free.
not counting triple and octuple hatch, the shiny and secret hunter passes (without them it's borderline impossible to get a secret/shiny pet)
Yeah, roblox went from actually fun games to games with similar predatory mechanics as gacha games, spending heaps of money for a TINY CHANCE of getting what you actually want.
The game broke so many TOS rule and roblox still hasent taken action.

The only thing I am mad about build into games is that they took down old games that I enjoyed such as guest quest and giant survival 1 (and 2) and replaced it with this giant survival 3 that is very much more... "simulator like". I enjoyed their games in previous years, but they went all in on their new games to make that dough. It's nice to see that roblox devs are getting that bread but I miss the old games and the old culture, now we have a new culture of lots of bright colors and simulators. Truly capitalist.

I totally get your point. I have been “suffering” from the exact same too, but at this point it has become a trend on roblox: there are very few roblox game that are not pay to win and most of the time they get like 10% of the popularity they should have. Ex: Bee swarm simulator

The reason this game is so pay to win is that if you're a free to play you will have to grind for hundreds of hours to get good stuff but if you're a pay to win you have stuff like 2x coins, 5x luck to eggs, more pets equipped and other stuff that cuts the grinding for hundreds to like 2 hours of getting coins and spending them. This makes it unfair for free to play players that's why it's hated that much since most of players are free to play.
But then people still plays the game. I doubt it'll end tho

Preston would always make a fun game like guest defense or guest quest and then either completely abandon it for a new project or leave it half-baked and never finish it. He put just enough work into the game to gather a large audience for it so people would buy the gamepasses for the game, then he'd make a new game and start the process all over again. Then instead of abandoning his newer games or pulling the plug on them, he would add more gamepasses and microtransactions to the games once he already grabbed a decent following for said game, and update the game just enough to maintain the audience. The worst part is that he is a skilled developer that has made many great games, it's just a shame that he isn't a good developer.
Also I once bought alpha access to a game he made (guest quest 2) for a special in-game alpha item and I never even got said item.

Imagine grinding month to get a huge pet just to slowly see it's value jump from 11b to 44b minimum and the new worlds are literally impossible to complete beacuse everything is damn impossible to break

I used to play this game for quite a while, and found out that this is pretty much gambling, theres a very wacky amount of gamepasses, the plushies that not only used as merchandise, but it has a code in it?
And i never acknowledged the nft project they have wouldn’t they?
This game’s age rating stated that it’s suitable for everyone, and i do not see the gambling part.
Either way it’s really bad for kids to gamble stuff on pet simulator x.
And i don’t have anything to say here, but i think it’s a great video.
Edit: i forgot to say that i am a free to play player and i never buy any gamepasses nor any plushies.
As someone who is free to play (for the most part) its annoying when its going to take me so much longer to get to the new update than someone that has spent hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the game to get good and play the game. Now I do understand that the devs want to make money and Preston needs to pay his dev team but making something that will give such an advantage to players that go and spend $20+ on a pet which can be obtained in 2 seconds by buying it, or the latter being spend 2 months on grinding for it just doesn't seem worth. Then when Preston says that the f2p ppl r going to love the next update then releases the diamond mines. Then the final one being that you got to get rid of your huge pet just to open the same chests and gems to gain the same amount as when I just start is completely insane. Then when the community gives backlash Preston just goes and makes that tweet and might have well have laughed in everyone's faces is not ok. Mean while there's the plushie situation where this little thing costs hundreds of dollars to buy which got a limited quantity is dumb. Like Koneko said in one of his vids the 1st wave of there plushies were not great but tolerable price wise is ok, not great but its better than spending $300 USD on a plushie. Sorry for the rant there just a lot of drama going on with pet sim as I'm sure you all know since your watching the vid. While all that being said it's a nice vid on the whole situation, keep up the work.
The thing is, these guys doesnt put ajy effort to their game, all they do in every update is taking a pet thats already in the game, give it some flashy effects and recolour it, change the size of it,then just sell it for more than 200 dollars. And when players complain, the developer of the game is like "Why yall so entitled".
The only reason they do it is because people buy it. I'd do the same if I was in their position.

I can't believe BIG Games (especially Preston) was very hated. I used to play Giant Survival (which was an experience by BIG Games) and I honestly liked it. No wonder Giant Survival usually had only 350 players and LOTS of gamepasses.

It took me 2 weeks total to just grind to the kawaii world f2p. I had to rely on the daycare, or just AFK, which I always forget to do. Pet simulator x just sucks because no matter how much robux you spend, you will always be in a loophole where preston adds a new 50 pet equip for 10,000 robux. then every area you go to its 50 pet equip appropriate, then you feel bad for not getting it

One of their updates introduced the Trading Plaza, which is just a Pet version of Pls Donate. If you are an F2P player, you will cry looking at the chances of selling your pets over there.

Let's get this straight. If a game is literally p2w, just don't play it at all. It's literally THAT simple. Just play other games that are absolutely free, or only costs a few bucks to progress a little.

The most underrated "Big games" game, was giant sim, it might be a different version I am thinking of, but I remember playing that game a bunch when it came out. (I think it was a different lne though because I remember playing it in 2015)
I really hate the dev of pet sim x because they have discontinued a very popular game called Guest Quest, it was one of the best games they have made and they shut it down a few years later

Big games was my favorite dev, I love the monster survival and so simple type games but then like everyone else, they got the greed get to them.
once the nfts were announced i joined the game and asked what they thought about the nfts one dude was so mad he was quitting and sold super rare stuff for like 100 diamonds i decided to join him and never play again

like i have farmed atleast 50M cash total already (if i didn't buy any guns) planning on buying the dark matter gun once it goes on sale on christmas again and i am around lvl 900

I remember back then when PSX just released. The game wasn’t as pay to win as of now, it was full of flavor. The more it went on the more dull and bland. And then there came more updated with more of the same thing but came much more harder. Back then you just had to have pets on the starter marketplace and those could work or even the dominos egg. But now huge pets came and they were real rare. This is where I stopped playing the game because how could you play when you had to spend HOURS just to break a chest when there was a player who was spending thousands of robux just to break that chest in a couple of seconds because there is NO WAY you can get a huge pet with 1 egg hatch and only a serverluck + luck boosts. Ik you can get them but that’s just a LOW chance unlike the other peopel who bought every single gamepass and can get everything.
Btw the deleting of huge pets in your inventory for just being in someone’s game is still around my huge pet was deleted from my inventory around a month ago

Preston has the biggest ego of any Roblox developer I’ve ever seen and it’s gone past the point of annoying. We have RESPECTABLE developers live MiniToon, Hazem, Stickmasterluke, the devs of Doors, Steep Steps, and etc. And then we have complete arrogance like Preston, Alexnewtron, and Gamefam.
I would strongly agree and even though I noticed that the huge value keeps on rising and you know people are blaming Preston not just because of higher cost/charged prices and he is getting interest and profit and it is highly prohibited in our religion because he is getting interest and people are grinding tons and tons of gems just to become successful so do I?

I've actually quit pet simulator x for a while now due to the amount of grinding for F2P players had to do. And i of course was one of them. i have been playing that game since its release and never stopped till the void update because the hardcore things were so hard i spent literally 10 hours grinding for 3 or 2 areas (that was before the easier hardcore update) it was just not satisfying anymore. but its the amount of money you need to pay just to do things faster but even if you do, more and more HARDER updates will release. after that there was trading. people started trading more and more valuable pets that cost robux. people really wanted to get good pets out of the pets that they bought but the pets are keep going down in the values. after that happened to many people, most of them started quitting the game due to this.

I decided to quit PSX around September 2021 after I spent like 1.4k robux on the game and I found it pointless to play anymore because of the P2W stuff. Since that day, I've never joined the game again...
That's kind of sad to see. Maybe try the game sometime if you have time, it can still be fun even though they prioritize people's wallet.
the only bad part about this game is that for example,you pay 50$ for a plushie and get scammed or get duped pets (wich no one can do anything about it)
