What would you recommend for multi day hikes? I've been looking at the La Sportiva TX Hike GTX shoes. There doesn't seem to be many reviews on them, but apparently they do have a pretty solid sole. A lot of these kinds of shoes are generally $300-350.

I don't really know to much about the hiking shoes you are talking about, my TX 2's are great for scrambling but I wouldn't use them for multi day hikes. Unfortunately I haven't had a hiking shoe in a while that I'd recommend for multi day hikes. A few years ago I had a pair of Adidas Terrex Hiking shoes which I loved but that was an older model so not 100 percent sure about the new ones. Could also be worth looking at.

Wear Teva/s... I lived in the PNW. Hiked parts of the PCT regularly. Teva help you regulate your body temperature. Are more comfortable (for me) and you don't need to worry about getting your feet/ socks wet. You can walk right through streams, creeks, etc. They're also a lot cheaper than expensive "approach shoes". I hiked with day packs and had no issues with ankle support etc.

That is interesting does Teva make an approach shoe or is it more of a hiking shoe.

Good information, thanks. My only question would be are they any good for fishing off rocks?

Not really. If the rocks are wet, slippery and covered in rocks you need shoes with metal spikes on them.
