The creativity that flows from the mind of Aaron knows no bounds. He is one of the most brilliant people I know. His refusal to accept the term genius just show how incredibly humble he is, which is on of many qualities about him I love. It always seems that the nicest people you can know, are also the most inventive. Aaron's influence on the entertainment industry is often ignored, and he deserves every bit of praise he gets. Every time I see those adorable animals singing their hearts out, I can't help but smile.
this is so rare how on earth that this vhs still exists i wish that the business still has this many people so they to can experience this amazing place
Mr.Aaron is a pure genius, I recently had a conversation with him showing my gratitude for what he’s done, to him and the rock afire explosion group. His entire creative engineering team deserves way more recognition today, even back then! I respect him not just because he made a legacy through animatronics, I respect all of them because they’re pure genuine engineers in lots of ways that helped.
Awesome Aaron!!!!!!!! I watch every single video you do and i am only 11! I love this!! You have inspired me to make my own animatronic! I found a robot kit on ebay from Colorado Animatronics, and i am going to buy it!!!!!!!! LONG LIVE THE ROCKAFIRE EXPLOSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have your parents write me and I will give them questions to ask about the kit you are contemplating buying. for example, it uses Vixen to control the valves, but that is a timeline based programming system rather than real time programming system where you can program the movements with a button as the song plays. Also, I didn't see where they offer a mask. So, I'll help your parents know what they are getting if they write me.
This is something i have always wanted to try do as i have always found interest in animatronics i tried 3d printing parts but im too lazy to make 3d models lol. Love your work :)
Does the 1983, mean the air date of this news interview? Would this be recorded in 1982? Since in the interview, it shows the use of C&V cylinders. That were used until late 82. And the programmer uses a Apple II, rather than the IIE that was released in January of 83.
Yes! Just me and my friends who help me. Don't forget I have lots of friends helping me do things now and that's how I have such a large catalog of merchandise I am producing for you all. But they just aren't "every day" employees. So, I get to go to the beach for weeks at a time when i get all your orders caught up and catch a break between scheduled tours.
I agree. I sadly got to never see the Rockafire in person, but unlike some of the younger kids, I didn’t come here because of FNaF. I came here because I always loved animatronics. It’s really a shame that Showbiz Pizza and the Rockafire went downhill, I would of enjoyed see them.
@Zathena Solidor. No ShowBiz was the one that actually bought out Chuck E. Cheese’s around ‘84 when they went bankrupt. They were forced to do so by a court ruling since Bob Brock, the founder of ShowBiz Pizza had breached his original contract with PTT by creating his own competing company instead of opening 100 Chuck E. Cheese stores like he had promised. Anyways, ShowBiz was scrambling to stay afloat due to the great video game crash of the mid 80’s. In an attempt to save any money they could, the ShowBiz Corporate higher ups decided to try and find a way to dump using Creative Engineering’s Rock-afire characters since they didn't want to pay to license the character rights/show tape fees/etc for using the Rock-afire. They tried to essentially just straight up take the characters from Aaron at one point around 85-86 by refusing to pay anymore and just making and sending out cringey bootlegged tapes with people doing bad impressions of the characters and notoriously awful programming, meanwhile refusing to even offer a dime to CEI for the rights. So CEI took them to court and won the case against ShowBiz ensuring CEI would retain the character rights in-turn making Corp have to bring back the old voice actors around the late 80’s (when they started producing the cyberstar tapes.) At that point since ShowBiz Corp still didn't want to pay for using them but still needed animatronic shows so they started planning to retrofit the characters in all the stores. A deal was eventually struck up where Corp would have to remove all traces of the Rock-afire characters from their stores by replacing them with another band if they wanted to have full rights to make their own shows. Various retrofit concepts were drawn up for possible new character shows but they ultimately decided on using the Chuck E. Cheese characters on the stages since they already owned the rights and it would have more brand recognition than designing another set of characters. Not to mention it would save money since they could use the same audio on both shows rather than having to record shows for 2 separate restaurants (They were running both SPP and PTT at this point). So in the early 90’s (well technically late 89’ up through the early 90’s) ShowBiz put their plan in effect and started replacing their Rock-afire’s with the CEC 3-stage retrofit, cut ties with Creative Engineering, and fully rebranded their stores under the Chuck E. Cheese’s name. Meanwhile throughout the 90’s CEI started selling their leftover Rock-afire shows to other Family Entertainment Centers while eventually trying to develop new shows such as the mijins hoping to usher in a new era animatronics. Despite their best efforts to get another big contract they unfortunately just never quite got the bite they needed to keep the company going like it had the decade prior. Or at least that's the story I'm aware of. I'm not sure of how accurate everything is as I wasn't there to see it in person since I wasn't even born yet at the time. Maybe Aaron can verify how close I got? P. S. Sorry this comment’s so long and wordy but I felt like putting it out there for anyone who might want to learn more about how it all happened.

I have some unfortunate news
You're right, I don't think I've ever seen the end of that clip! Thank you!
For anyone wondering, the song that was used in the beginning of the news cast. Is "Raleigh-Durham Reel." By Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Crazy how creative engineering is still going strong despite the times. Glad there's still support from the community and may it last forever. 💪

Now THAT's a question!
The characters did not have spherical bearings in the fabco cylinders yet. This would have been the batch of 04/82 .

Yes the show tape had the yogi bear theme and chats between the characters
