the Celtics usually sh*t the bed at least one game per series, unfortunately for the Mavs that game was game 2 and they blew their opportunity to take advantage of it. The Celtics who shot 10/39 for 3, who's star player in Tatum struggled the last two games still managed to run away with the victory, you have to imagine they are now feeling extremely confident and dangerous. Add on to the fact that they are 6-0 on the road this post season. (They're shooting 34.9% from 3 and 46.9% on FG on the road). I wouldn't expect them to have another bad shooting game

The Mavs just aren't hitting their shots. It's that simple. Combined with Kyrie having off performances and Luka's turnovers, it's a recipe for disaster. Celtics didn't play particularly well in game 2 and still won. If the Celtics turn it up even a little more and Tatum finally gets going and has a big game, it's over. There's just so many guys with talent across the court who can step up if another player is having an off game.
Celtics were not hitting their shots either. If the Celtics made all the missed shots they still would have won and by double digits like game 1.

It was the fact that they kept jacking them even though they weren’t hitting, and that typically leads to Boston losing pretty handily; it’s what got them bounced from the playoffs last year. The difference in game 2 really came down to free throws and turnovers. Dallas turned the ball over 15 times and shot less than 70% from the line. Don’t care what team you are or who your playing against, 9 times out of 10 a team with those numbers is losing

This thing is over. The problem is the mavs need their role players to hit shots. Thats very hard to do when Luka and Kyrie go iso so much. Those guys go long stretches of time without getting up shots or touching the ball just long enough to kick it back to Luka or Kyrie. It’s amazing they have been able to do the damage they did to teams like Minnesota. It’s a bad look when you only get the ball because the defender made Luka pick up his dribble and now he’s asking for it back. This is why coaches preach ball movement. The most capable open man gets the shot unless the game is close. Kyrie and Luka may be the best closers in pro ball but that means nothing if the game isn’t within a few points.

Are you really making others better?? They literally stand and watch Luka and that’s their offense. When Luka doesn’t have the ball, he’s not screening for other players, he’s not creating opportunities off the ball. He stands there like okay I’m tired y’all do something.

A not timid JT(compared to 2022) who is not yet scoring at a high level, but is doing all the other right things. And I ask myself, just imagine if they did hit their 3 point shots as they do.
