It will take some time. It is a major change. The new athletic director is very much in tune to hearing comments and looking for ways to improve the experience. Getting back to our winning ways will go a long way. Good luck on your application.
That is the way the winds blow in South Florida. They also wanted to be able to see downtown through the endzone. As the stadium expanded over the years, it created a great view.
The Orange Bowl has had 2 of the best college football games (84 Orange Bowl and 84 BC VS MIAMI) and 81 PLAYOFF GAME Btwn SAN DIEGO / MIAMI along with SUPERBOWL III and many other great games. Plus they always had decent crowds.
Now i remember,..that marlin's stadium,...sad really,..didnt know its on orange bowl turf,..i remember many a great game there,..especially the orange bowls,..i'm 49 now,..so i go back almst as far as you do, lol. tho im a chicago guy,..i was raised buckeyes n sooners,..so i know you and i could have some great discussions on great orange bowl games, lol.
The plan for the site of the orange bowl is to bring a new merlins staddium. The stadium will be 555 Million dollars to build the new stadium. The city of Miami will pay $350 million from taxes. Since the town of miami will pay for most of it the Florida Marlins will have their name changed to the Miami Marlins.
dont forget they close down the endzone with all the logos in it. that stadium can actually hold over 100,000 people but they close part of it down. they built the marlins stadium where the OB used to be which is a shame.
damn monotone music in this video was as old as that crappy stadium. It needed to be torn down, it was the oldest non renovated stadium in america (even wrigley has had renovations!). The Marlins will bring the Orange Bowl back to life
It's been a sad time and a lot had to do with local politics. City would not renovate wit dollars already voted for, then Dolphin owner sold the AD to move to their place, then City voted to build Marlins a place where the Orange Bowl was. Seeing the demolition was incredibly sad. Dolphin stadium has ammenities, but sucks as a football stadium, especially one that is only ours for a few hours on game day.
yes they do befor pete came u could sit anywhere in th coleseum now its hard to even get an upper deck seat. now tht lane kiffins in LA i think ur right lol. if they tear down the coleiseum then im throwin a fit, i was alredy pissd they tore the OB down
Playing on dirt the first half of the season has been bad. The good news is that this week are the final games for the Florida Marlins at this stadium. Next year they play in their new ballpark as the Miami Marlins. Still, Dolphin stadium is a poor excuse for a football stadium.
While there might be a few, most make decisions based on the people in the program, the atmosphere, the potential for them to play and to be highlighted. A refurbished Orange Bowl compares very favorably to other College stadiums. DS has no atmosphere, has seats so far from the field you need the Jumbotron to see the game. I believe you lose more than you gain.
i'm not a fan of miami sports ,but it's a shame to see the hurricanes playing in dolphin stadium and it's not the orange bowl anymore...i don't even watch that game anymore, bcuz it's not in the orange bowl stadium.
apparently the kids cared more about the tradition of the U than a silly stadium. how else would we get players like ed reed? if your worried about a stadium your in the wrong sport it might have been a dump but it had major mystique.
everyones doing the fish !! its bitter sweet though that we finally save baseball here but at what expense losing hte pride of miami THE HURRICANES ARE THE PRIDE OF MIAMI if youve gone to canes games at the ob you know what im talking about the city dropped the ball on this one big time... though its bitter sweet cause we lose the canes but save baseball !!im still going to shitty dolphin stadium n supporting ALL our teams
if i lived in miami i can think of 10,000 things to do than go to a college football game this isnt columbus or state college penn. this is miami no team that plays in a major u.s. city sells out not even USC.
which is bullshit cus wat hav the marlins ever done for miami??? they dont even call themselves the miami marlins!! wtf!?!?! the canes r miami athletics

Yes! I agree! The Canes should absolutely stay at the OB as long as humanly possible! I think Shalala should be IMPEACHED!!!! Who's with me???!!!!
Too bad this never happened, would've been nice.

hello guys,..long time college fan,..but i cant recall what the final decision was,..are they gonna build a new one or not?
It is a shame the historic Orange Bowl could not have been saved
Miss it every season...
Some of my favorite Hurricanes memories took place in the Orange Bowl

Has Donna Shalala been beneficial for the University of Miami

they will be called the Miami Marlins once they movei into the new stadium
@flaccojoe the LA coliseum will never leave it was part of the olympics...USC may move but the coliseum is there to stay.

Too late, DC. It looks as though Dolphins Stadium it is.

Dolphin stadium aint our home , our home is destroyed.
And the stadium is gone
Someone tag me when it gets renovated
