I heard this in 2015. 2021, 2022 and now. Guy is a slow hitter nothing else. If they missed the playoffs with Soto and better pitching, what makes you think this guy will make such a huge difference

@@RO-pg9hw Biggest thing is team chemistry. I think last season was a lot of drama and pressure, same with 2015 and 2021. 2022 they went to the NLCS so that was good. 2023 was just an awful season, New team, new coach less expectations will be great for this team

You have to take into account adjusting batting average. It’s actually much harder to hit a baseball now than it was when Tony Gwynn played. You have to adjust their batting averages to the league average for their respective year. When you do that - Arraez takes the lead.

He is hitting wise the new Tony Gwynn but Tony played a very good RF and I think won some gold gloves (although gold gloves aren't a very good metric they gace one to Carlos Correa when Nicky Lopez was by far a better defender because Correa is more well known, definetly not more well liked though and hit better). So far Luis Arraez isn't a good defender. But he's kind of like Nic Castellanos, he's not very good but he always tries his hardest.
