Arraez has arrived! Ichiro said Luiz is his favorite hitter. Hes also very humble too. The Padres really did good on this move. Luiz Arraez is a great addition!
I heard this in 2015. 2021, 2022 and now. Guy is a slow hitter nothing else. If they missed the playoffs with Soto and better pitching, what makes you think this guy will make such a huge difference
@@RO-pg9hw Biggest thing is team chemistry. I think last season was a lot of drama and pressure, same with 2015 and 2021. 2022 they went to the NLCS so that was good. 2023 was just an awful season, New team, new coach less expectations will be great for this team
You have to take into account adjusting batting average. It’s actually much harder to hit a baseball now than it was when Tony Gwynn played. You have to adjust their batting averages to the league average for their respective year. When you do that - Arraez takes the lead.
He is hitting wise the new Tony Gwynn but Tony played a very good RF and I think won some gold gloves (although gold gloves aren't a very good metric they gace one to Carlos Correa when Nicky Lopez was by far a better defender because Correa is more well known, definetly not more well liked though and hit better). So far Luis Arraez isn't a good defender. But he's kind of like Nic Castellanos, he's not very good but he always tries his hardest.
I got so teary eyed as a marlins fan watching him get benched 4 min before the game due to the trade, but I’m happy he’s happy and with a better club this year❤
Appreciate this comment, most LAD fans are incoherent cunce. You guys have all the talent in the world and apparently we do too now, let’s see what happens! Have a good year bro!
Congrats to the Padres for getting a Gwynn esque hitter. Any team would love to have Arraez and I’m sure the Padres are fine with what they gave up for him.
David Macias has a sore chest today! 1:10! Not sore enough? 1:31! Nope, still not sore enough! 2:01! Go Padres! Soto taught em to walk. Arraez shows em how to hit for average! Tony smiling from above!

I love the way he seems to love SD already, Soto never stood on 2nd base with a massive smile during his very first game.
That’s because soto never wanted to be a Padre. He does smile while on second with the Yankees.

That third hit he looks just like Tony Gwynn poking that one the other way all hunched over. This guy is a keeper for SD.
Ed Hearn was better
He's the modern day Tony Gwynn. I've never seen anything like him in my lifetime, especially in this era of baseball. Very impressive
De Venezuela para el mundo
This guy is really good
Starting tomorrow, the first base coach is gonna need a bullet-proof vest.
LOL😂
😅😅😅
He's for sure gonna have a little bruise 😂
Ohh yeah bro 😂
😂 It's one of his trademarks along with letting pitchers know they're outside the zone.
Wish you the best in San Diego Luis❤

As a Braves guy, I’m glad that he’s out of the East.🤣 He’s going to be a pain in the Dodgers’ side. Good pick up.

Sin duda demostrando porque le dicen la regadera.
What a quick bat!!! Hopefully, teammates can learn from it, including machado on getting better hitting high velo pitches, again.
Finally his skills can contribute to run production. Good job in SD thinking up this trade.
You can see how happy he is with a better team
