- In September 1565, this little-known inlet would be the site of one of the bloodiest days in the early struggle to control Florida. These sand dunes would soon be soaked in blood and the inlet and river connected to it will forever bare the name…Matanzas.

Well done. Enjoyed learning more about early French/Spanish settlements. Just when the French thought the hurricane was bad enough…..
Great video man, thank you
I appreciate you watching
Very well done, I was in Southeast Georgia for work a couple years ago and I already regretted not seeing more stuff around there...now I really wish I poked around more haha.
Well next time you’re in the area let me know! Tons of stuff to see. Especially in St Augustine.
Thank you more Florida please 🙏
Thanks for watching!
When they named the new Flagler County high school, Matanzas High School, there was a quite a bit of controversy over naming a school "Massacre"
I'm A St.Augie native.The Bay of slaughter
Have camped an alot of fishing, there when growing up,My parents and family members have rescued people,Beware when swimming and other activities because, The Bay of slaughter will kill you. Tides, drop off's . the beach changes everyday . take care.
Was just there july 27 n 28th 2024 and what I want to know is what did they do with the body's??? I believe they threw them in the river and let the craps, fish n sharks eat em. Either way I noticed a VERY miserable and sorrowful energy emanating from the lions bridge south to crescent Beach bridge on my way to ft matanza and then it disappeared so its my belief that thats where they massacred them 1 by 1 on the walk back to ft Castillo de whatever!
