But he failed upwards, and instead of counting his fortune, he really does act like he is better than people he perceives to be beneath him.

This was real… Luke and Ariel putting their past aside to this extent exemplifies maturity that I think many of us can learn from. None of us are saints, as I'm sure these men can attest to. But life is short... let’s not dwell on a negative past and maximize the present. And god damn, this meeting of 3 of the best minds in the industry is combat sports analysis maxed out.

@@dlanjobo I think that after Ariel left whatever media outlet he and Luke were working at beforehand, he scheduled his interviews with fighters in a way that got them to bail out of Luke's interviews in a way that made him look really stupid and generally inconvenienced him big time. I think Luke saw it as very unprofessional and petty but tbf from Ariel's perspective, I've had jobs and especially bosses that I've left with quite a bit of pent up resentment and if I had the ability to fuck shit up for them oh boy I definitely would.
Like I personally can totally see where they were both coming from (from the few and far between details I can hazily recollect) so it's nice to see them burying the hatchet.

I have spent time with almost every MMA show out there and in the end I am a massive MK fan, and really enjoy Ariel Helwani’s interviews and takes, but don’t find myself able to make time for every one of his shows in the solo format. I love his knowledge but I am not quite as engaged, and his other shows with cohosts were too silly on the other side. But this show was next level across the board. Genuinely the 3 best MMA personalities together, the chemistry is unreal and the amount of knowledge and perception between Luke and Ariel are as good as it gets. Very different but complimentary opinions, all fused together between the 3 of them with entertainment mixed in. We need an MK x Helwani weekly segment desperately!
