honestly tried to convince him that Zoro's talk about the fight with Ryuma was the "nothing happened" moment but people persisted with the comment to the end.
Keep in mind that because of Luffy's devil fruit the pain he feels is lower than normal. So imagine Zoro feeling all that without Luffys devil fruit. You gotta give him the utmost respect on taking all that
That is Luffy's own pain and suffering though, that was repelled. So, if Luffy wasn't rubber, yes the pain Luffy bore would've been way more and that's what Zoro would've had to bear as well, however, Zoro is only bearing what Luffy bore, no more.
@@morganmorgym And now as we know that due to Luffy's mythical Zoan he could be healed easily but Zoro can't is more shocking . And this pain also includes the 100 shadow holding fatigue
That menacing laugh at the end is just perfect Mozy. I always loved this scene because when i watch other anime, there wasn’t ever such a display of loyalty + badassery in one moment it’s just so damn satisfying hearing Zoro say ‘Nothing happened’ after he took in all of Luffys pain on top of his own. Since i knew so many people in the past that where not loyal at all, this will for ever be my favorite scene in all of fiction.
Something to keep in mind about why this scene is different for Zoro than any other Strawhat, I have no doubt all the Strawhats would die for Luffy but It's not just about Zoro giving up his life for Luffy it's about him giving up something even more important to him, his Ambition, It's in the dialogue too Kuma was asking if Zoro was going to give up his Ambition, In Baratie against Mihawk we saw how he would choose to die than being anything less than the Strongest Swordsman, Anything that comes close to this in my mind in the entire series is Sanji choosing to die than hit a women.
And the Paw-paw fruit got even more insane! It can repel even more "conceptual" things like freaking pain. Also Kuma definitely shows he has a code (no pun intended ;P) to how he acts!
When I first watched this episode I admired Zoro for doing this for Luffy. But upon rewatching I saw that even Sanji was ready to get himself killed because Luffy a n d Zoro’s dreams. I love this crew so much. Sanji cares about Zoro more than he shows.
I love this moment with Zoro. In the crew, Luffy is the head, Nami guides them, Sanji feeds them, Chopper heals them, Franky keeps them afloat, Brook lightens their souls, Robin will find the truth, and I'm sure Usopp is the narrator of this epic . Zoro? Zoro is the first companion, the pillar of this crew. The day he leaves is the day the crew will cease to exist, he is the guardian of the crew (that's why in my opinion there won't be a moment when Zoro tries to leave the crew to protect them). He have litteraly his room/gym in the look-out post! He has experience, he is insightful, he knows when he is needed and when he has to give way to those who know better, Zoro is neither a brute nor a dimwit, he is the one who understands Luffy and straighten him out when he's going to make a real mistake. He is the guardian of the crew, he will guard the crew.
Luffy - Head (Captian and Decision Maker) Zoro - The Arms (The Protector and Guard of the Crew, Captain and Ship) Nami - Eyes (The Navigator, nuff said) Usopp - Private Parts (Though technically not "needed" and seeminlgy weak, it's the part of the body that you'd hate to lose regardless and brings much joy to your life. It also shoots projectiles like a sniper. It doesnt always make good choices either. And it can feel much fear.) This was hard to come up with and took much thought lol. Sanji - Mouth (He feeds the crew) Chopper - Heart (He sustains the crew medically, he keeps them alive and healthy) Robin - Ears (She is the one through whom the crew learns) Franky - Legs (He is the one through whom the crew can move) Brook - Throat (He is the one through whom merriment through song is provided) Jinbei - Feet (As helmsman he provides stability and direction for the legs and body to move) Honorary Members: Vivi - Hair (though we cut it off it will grow back again. Just as she had to leave us, she will return to be with us again!) Bon Chan - Breath (Something you don't think about usually, but is the reason you are still alive) Merry - ??? Sunny - ??? Body parts I didn't use but may have ben applicable - Neck (Zoro, the support of the head), Nose (Usopp the un-needed but appreciated crewmate that brings extra joy to life and the body), Stomach (Chopper, sustains the body/crew, keeps them healthy and alive), Skin (no idea), Butt (no idea)
When he joined, Zoro told Luffy that if he stood in the way of him becoming the greatest swordsman he'd kill him, here he was willing to interrupt his journey and abandon his dream for Luffy's sake.
I really like that Sanji is willing to give it all up for Zoro, Because in one of the episodes where he was introduced he said it should be easy to give up on your dream, which means he's just that type of person and he knows that Zoro and Luffy aren't, which is also makes the scene great because knowing that Zoro's not the type to give up but he still willing to for Luffy makes it a thousand times better. (I also think it's really cool because I believe Zoro knocks out Sanji because he realizes how devastated Luffy would be without his amazing cook rather than an amazing swordsman. Even though I'm sure he loves both of them equally.)
This has been one of my top five moments and has remained so to this day. I will watch reactors watch this for the first time and seeing what my reaction must have looked like. I love how you just sat there and laughed at the end.
People always say that one piece is not serious and don’t have a lot of dark moments but this episode s one of many episodes were i was uncomfortable watching/reading it. And this is nothing compared to what will happen later in the series.
Luffy goes through this pain in every arc , Zoro took his pain just once and is getting too much credit . Luffy is the one who inspired Zoro to be this loyal to him . Oda is trying to show Luffy's greatness not Zoro. Credit to RT TV Rob for pointing this out.
Luffy is great and we all know that. So this moment was for Zoro to shine more, saying he is the vice captain and it's his responsibility to tc of crew when capt is down. Don't try to read too much beyond the lines to shadow the halo of a char shown esp not from the guy who is thru and thru Zoro hater and always discredits Zoro at every turn (rob, ofc for trp purposes).
i have to disagree with that. Luffy is the Captain. He is suppose to be the one who takes the hard fights thus he is going to be in pain more often. that is not Zoros responsibility. That is why he is getting so much credit. He DIDNT have to do that. He could have accepted defeat and let Kuma take Luffy. Zoro went beyond the call of duty.
