Thanks a lot for the video and your thoughtful recommendations. Though the music is completely irrelevant. Is it ever possible to go to these places and embrace their beauty, value the landscape, the smells of the herds, the rough rocky terrain if you listen this?

One issue I have with the fabulous hikes is organising the logistics. Your video has inspired me to ditch Samaria for Aradena but how do I get back to my car having reached Marmara or Loutro please without having to hike all the way back up again?

@@erwindesilva4185 actually I would recommend hiking back the gorge. From Marmara you can take the E4 , heading east and you can get to Loutro or even Chora Sfakion. From Loutro you can take a boat back to Chora. From Chora take a taxi back to your car in Aradena. This makes the hike even greater. You hike down the gorge , then have a dip in Marmara, eat at the taverna, take the E4 and hike next to the sea. Just make sure that there will be a taxi in Chora to take you back to Aradena. Also check the timetables for the small boats to Chora. There are small taxi boats that can ferry you. Of course these boats can also ferry you from Marmara as well if you don't want to hike any more. Btw Samaria is an amazing gorge. You should also check it out. It's my favorite gorge. They reason I didn't include it in the list is because it's already well known

@@johnkasiolas9 Thank you so much - and you're a fellow medic too. I've only a week to do Crete this September. I might well do both if I can fit them in.

Planning a trip to Greece and Crete is one of the stops. What town would you recommend to stay that is relatively close to all these hikes?

    • @johnkasiolas9

@@lisettewurster3648 these hikes are from different parts of the island. But probably Chania or Rethymno would suit you best
