And I learned something that Really gave me Mad Respect for Him and his Wife. Toby and his Wife do a lot in Secret for Children with Cancer, and I do mean a lot all over the Country. Much Respect for that Couple. Thank you my friend for doing this. 🍺🍺🍺🍺
That song was Toby Keith's reaction to 911. We Americans were in shock after that we had never been hit with anything like it. This song rallied all of US around the flag and each other. We fight and bicker with each other, but when we were "sucker punched from somewhere in the back"it really hit us hard. This song reflected the feelings of practically the whole country at that time. Thank you for the kind words. I believe everyone should be proud of who they are and where they come from.

To hear you say” I would be an American” to see you say that.. finally someone from another country understands what my fellow brothers and sisters have done, for so many years and for so many years to come… the sacrifices we have made. For not just Americans…. But for all free nations. Not only have we shed our own blood, but sacrificed ourselves, our lost time with family and friends. So many lost memories with loved ones that we can never get back.. all for something so intangible, yet real.. for freedom for all to” lay down there head at night” knowing that we have and always have guarded your lives… I appreciate your sentiment.. sincerely “ an old busted up American veteran “

Toby Keith lost his battle with cancer about 5 days ago. I'm glad you were able to react to this, he was a legend among service members for doing shows overseas and at home when soldiers returned. RIP Toby...
This was written just after 911.He wrote it for the soldiers who went to war when he went over to do concerts for them in a war zone.He didn't plan on recording it but it was so popular he eventually did.
He didn't plan on recording it until he had a conversation with the Commandant of the United States Marine Corps. He asked Tobey Keith to record it for the good of the morale of the Corps.
After my second deployment to Bosnia, I was there as a private contractor. I saw Toby Keith preform this at Eagle Base in Tuzla, Bosnia in 2002. That was when he was wearing the black and white striped shirt. Great song. I also saw Toby Keith and Ted Nugent in Baghdad in 2004.
Recky, thank you for reacting to it. And I hope you enjoyed it. I was truly touched by your reaction and comments. A quote by Toby Keith “Never apologize for being patriotic”
Hi Gary! Thank you for watching. I enjoyed it more than I actually expected. It was hard keeping the tears at bay. I know the sacrifices your nation does. And I am truly grateful.
We are blessed to have other countries take an interest in our patriotism. My dad is Norwegian and Swedish. He's American and so is anyone who loves freedom and people. Blessings!
As an American, one whose family has been in America since before the United States was the United States, I have to say that I fell most Americans feel the way I do. Most of us never want to go to war, never want wars to start, but we recognize that there is still evil in this world and evil is never satisfied. Evil will always try to take away what other people have. Don't get me wrong. I in no way support everything that our government has done. They have made mistakes and they have gotten involved in thing that I personally do not feel we needed to get involved in. But, I also recognize that there have been events and wars that, If we hadn't gotten involved in, would have made this world a lot worse than it already is. Yes, most of us have a lot of pride in our country. I think that is because we understand the obstacles this country had to go through to get to where we are. The sacrifices that were made, not only by soldiers but by ordinary people, by farmers and country folk who left their families, who sacrificed their eldest songs, because they believed in a dream that was a country based on freedom, not just general freedom but freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to live your life without government oversight of every aspect of one's life. We understand that our flags stands for all those things and more. We also see this freedom slowly being taken away. People flooding our Country who do not understand how precious it is and allowing certain groups to change this country into the places they fled to come here.
Problem is that every other nation turns to the US, when it comes to war. It’s like… go get them USA!! And it’s unfair and leaves the US in shambles after every conflict. By the loss of troops and their life’s.. both during the war but even after due to depression.
Very well written!! My family came to NH in 1654 and I'm proud to say my ancestors fought in the revolution. Your last sentence sums up my fears for our future. There's a reason people flock here; yet there are poisonous ideals creeping into our culture that those who came to our country may see headed in the direction they fled from.
You are welcome anytime. Great reaction and great words. Thank you and to all soldiers and their families, thank you for your service and sacrifice. First responders thank you. God bless you all.
I just found your channel by happenstance, and I gotta say, being an American is totally attainable for anyone outside of our Country. It is more of a state of mind than it is anything else. If you have a good heart, love others, have passion for what is right, want what it best for others.....take pride in that! You can totally be a Swede, but have the heart of an American! So, from one American heart to another....welcome brother!!
I love this song thank you for doing this video. As a American I'm making you an honorary American. I really love that you love my country so much keep making amazing videos my dude! 🇺🇸 ❤ 🇸🇪
This song raised a lot of morale and spirits among members of the military, our veterans, and our citizens. I'm ashamed to be from a country willing to throw down when the situation demands it. One doesn't need to be at war to be patriotic. War just happens to bring the patriotism out in many. The last several years, even last couple decades, it's been said that patriotism is something evil that breeds hate, division, and warmongering. However, none of this is true. Patriotism is simply a strong love for one's country. Despite the fact that it is far from perfect, it is ours, it is one of a kind, and it is free. There is no other country like it. That is why many people serve, and those who can't, find ways to celebrate and support those who do. Our country has a short history. Yet despite having to overcome some dark times like the revolution, slavery, the civil war, genocide of native Americans, the depression, and several wars, we went from new country to superpower in less than 150 years. Many of us celebrate this and the sacrifice it took to get and keep us here. I served in Germany during the Cold War and later in Desert Storm. I've been in the thick of it like so many others. We wear our pride on our sleeve and we don't care if someone is offended by it. Enjoyed your reaction, appreciate your respect for America. No reason to be ashamed of where you're from (though I know you are not at ashamed of being from Sweden, nor should you be).
I’m not ashamed for being a Swede. I’m proud of my nation. We have our issues just as any other nation has. But we are more “welcoming” towards people that doesn’t not deserve the same freedom we offer.
You rock, Recky!! It's very appreciated that you honor America. Especially since so many in the world are anti-American these days. I do realize that we have caused some of this ourselves by doing dumb things sometimes but, taking everything into consideration, I think we have done more good than bad. Also, without America there would be no Skynyrd and a world without Skynyrd would not be a good world.
@@Reckyj you know what I say to haters of America? This is what I tell them: Whatsa matter you? Ya gotta no respect. Whatta ya think you're doing? Why you looka so sad? Itsa not so bad. Itsa nice-a place. Ahhhhh shaddappa ya face!!
@@Reckyj You are absolutely correct. Most people that hate America seem to live within our own borders. The current landscape of "wokism" and other PC garbage has stolen the younger generation's ability to truly understand what FREEDOM truly means and the costs of having it. Hey, just ask Brittany Griner, she was against playing The Star Spangled Banner before games in which she played and would kneel while it was being played. I wonder how free she thinks USA is now that she is sitting in her Russian jail cell after breaking their laws. She should be left to get out on her own without any intervention for our government......good riddance I say. Since you think America is not so great , apply for Russian citizenship upon your release.
Seeing him do this live cannot be described as any thing less than one of the most patriotic moments of my life. My son was a US Marine deployed to the sand when I was at that concert. I cried like a baby watching his performance. Unforgettable moment in time I’m so grateful I was able to experience.
As a twenty three year Veteran of the U.S. Army we are an all volunteer force that represents not only the people of our great nation but as you said we lay it on the line to protect the western world’s way of life. Your reaction made it clear that we are recognized by others for what we do and your visceral response does as many have said before you definitely earns you the title of honorary American!
Cant tell you how much I appreciate you reacting to this American song . It never ceases to remind me that you dont have to be an American to love freedom and liberty . Here in America there are those who dont like this song , nor what it represents , America is not perfect , because its comprised of imperfect people , but I love her and would give my life for her still . Thank you very much for your respect of what this song is about .
Thank you for reviewing this song. I have heard it before and it always brings a tear to my eye for all the Soldiers I knew and their families who sacrificed so much. I served for 25 years as an armor and Cavalry Scout. A message for all who serve: "May God always stand between you and harm in all the dark and lonely places you must walk"
As a U.S. military member for the past 30+ years I'll say this, don't be jealous. That's what we're here for. We love you, we love our allies. Your reaction makes it all worth while.
As an American of the USA… Appreciate your reaction dude. It’s crazy how we became the defacto protectors of the world. It’s not always fully supported by everyone and can cause issues with other countries and even our own citizens. But, I’m proud to be a citizen of the USA 🇺🇸
Our second national anthem! No matter how many times I hear this song I get that pit in my tummy and a little teary! I don’t care how divided my country is right now I will always be proud to be an American and will always appreciate the freedoms I have and the people who have always ensured that freedom stands! PROUD to be an American!

Thank you for your honest reaction! I am an American veteran that helped preserve our freedom and liberty. We, USA, do not like war, but if we have to fight, we will bring as much overwhelming force to finish it as quickly as possible. No one understands the cost of war more than soldiers, but we lay down our lives to protect all that we love and hold dear. I share this with you so you can better understand where our patriotism comes from. Thank you for your reaction. 👍

Toby Keith write this song in reaction to the tragedies on 9/11. As an American, I remember feeling angry and hurt and this song really represents that. Great song. Thank you for reviewing.
greetings from Alaska Reckyj....i was born and raised in Ireland...and emigrated 20 years ago...I became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2011...and you're right when you say there is something very patriotic about this country...I am grateful and very proud to call myself..American..
You're the only person I've heard of, who got it right when they said that we are protecting the whole free world I appreciate who you are man thank you for being you
I was military police in the army 2001-2009 served the majority of time overseas. Early 2002 Toby Keith came to camp Casey South Korea as part of a big 4th of July USO concert. I met him back stage in the club house. As I walked by him sitting at the bar (he wasn’t drinking) we made eye contact for a second and I said “holy shit it’s Toby Keith” he laughed and stood up and walked a few feet over to me. I reached out to shake his hand as I said “ sir it’s an honor to meet you.” Guys this man got real serious for a second and looked in my eyes as he shook my hand and said “no it’s not! I’m just a guy who sings, you and guys like you are hero’s protecting your country trust me the honor is all mine.” That was the most sincere appreciation for my service I’ve ever felt. So it hit me a little hard hearing the news he just passed. On another note: all governments suck! But all my army buddies feel the same as me. Being tough and fighters are in our nature and we would gladly go to war to defend good people all over this planet regardless of race or religion. You perfectly demonstrated the feeling that emotion that drives us to say we have your back any time any place. It got me a little seeing you as a proud Swed feeling the American patriotism and admiring it. And that sir is exactly why we are happy to come to a theatre near you if you need us.🫡🇺🇸
America is a vast great land. We have all kinds of people here, but many with good moral foundations and hardworking rural farmers and this song was very powerful because it came out around 9-11. It was the feeling at the time.
Thanks for not stopping the video. I served 85' to 95' and when I hear this song tears & smiles appear. I'm getting older but I will without hesitation do what is needed to keep freedom alive!!!
The phrase 'and the eagle will fly' has a whole new meaning for me. I just watched a video of an eagle fighting a full grown adult wolf, won, and flew off with it! The wing span of one blocked out the light in my car when flying over one day (I live in the country.)
That was a beautiful thing to say. Form a lady in the USA that is so kind. We do have pride. It's hard to put into words. Mr Keith sure did voice it well. Thank you for your review. Very nice.
You can always get duel citizenship. You dont have to give up life in your beautiful country. Just add our beautiful country to your life. We would love to have you as an addition to this nation.

I am , an American soldier and to that end, when I or any of our service members are called, we will come.

I am a Veteran, stood with many people of many cultures, religions, and colors, we weren't fighting for the government, we were fighting for you, your brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, and for the men by our sides, for liberty, justice and freedom around the world, I have made friends with people from every continent on this planet with no problem whatsoever.
I am 4th generation American, while being proud of my Norse heritage, I am an American, as is anyone who calls this soil Home - We all came from somewhere else, different cultures and backgrounds, our differences should be celebrated and used as our strengths - I would gladly put my life on the line again, to defend the things that this Country and our Flag stands for, and willing to die, if it means others can be free... "Under The Heavens We Are One" Thank You for the respect...
I like this song and I'm not into country music. Toby is a true American patriot that supports the military and working class people of the US. 🇺🇸
Both sets of my Grandparents are from Sweden. I am Swedish American. You don't have to be from our country to be one of us, as our unity comes from a beingness which you display in spades. YOU ARE AMERICAN to me, and we'll protect your country to the bitter end. No foreign military will touch your soil for long without being summarily swept away. Sleep well, we got you, BROTHER.
Thank you for reacting to this song and for your kind words! Love from the US of A! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Yes - that's what I read, too.
A quote by Toby Keith
“Never apologize for being patriotic”
Hi Gary! Thank you for watching. I enjoyed it more than I actually expected. It was hard keeping the tears at bay. I know the sacrifices your nation does. And I am truly grateful.
The world needs Swedes like Recky too. A Swede who sees the world as it is and gives credit where it's due. Thanks to you too.
I love how you didn't pause out of respect. That's awesome. Subbed for life
I know what it means for Americans. Who am I to disrespect? No one. All the love for the great US. Thank you for the lifetime sub! It means a lot
@@Reckyj every "other nation", or one in particular?
You are welcome anytime. Great reaction and great words. Thank you and to all soldiers and their families, thank you for your service and sacrifice. First responders thank you. God bless you all.
I just found your channel by happenstance, and I gotta say, being an American is totally attainable for anyone outside of our Country. It is more of a state of mind than it is anything else. If you have a good heart, love others, have passion for what is right, want what it best for others.....take pride in that! You can totally be a Swede, but have the heart of an American! So, from one American heart to another....welcome brother!!
An American heart? Love the sound of that!
It doesn't matter how many times I hear this song. I get goosebumps every single time!!!
I am an American, Toby Keith has touched so many people with his music and patriotic spirit. He will be missed, Rest in Peace Toby❤
From a disabled/retired combat Vet, thank you. Not for just doing this song, but also for what you said and the end. We appreciate that.
I love this song thank you for doing this video. As a American I'm making you an honorary American. I really love that you love my country so much keep making amazing videos my dude! 🇺🇸 ❤ 🇸🇪
HELL YES!!! 👍🇺🇸🇸🇪
The US and Sweden are long time friends. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
ALWAYS!!
You are welcome in my town any time Sir! Thank you for your love of this country
US Army Veteran, 1999-2003, recalled for OIF 06. I salute you sir and will always consider Sweden an Ally of the highest regard.
🇺🇸🇸🇪❤️
You rock, Recky!! It's very appreciated that you honor America. Especially since so many in the world are anti-American these days. I do realize that we have caused some of this ourselves by doing dumb things sometimes but, taking everything into consideration, I think we have done more good than bad. Also, without America there would be no Skynyrd and a world without Skynyrd would not be a good world.
I think the hate you mentioned. Is created by yourself. Sure, there is definitely nations that hate the US. But they are way fewer than you think.
@@Reckyj you know what I say to haters of America? This is what I tell them:
Whatsa matter you?

Thank you for your words -from an American.
Just viewed this video. Thank you for your sweet heartfelt comments, and sending greetings from Virginia
As an American born from Swedish parents…well said…love Sweden and could not be prouder to be an American…I wouldn’t mess with either country
You are welcome here and are an honor citizen brother. We love you guys and i love this video
Rest in Peace Toby Keith 😢❤
Sending you and Sweden lots of hugs and love from my state of Texas here in the USA!!❤❤❤
Thank you for reviewing this song. I have heard it before and it always brings a tear to my eye for all the Soldiers I knew and their families
who sacrificed so much.
You, my dear, have the heart of an American. We'd be proud if you joined us. God bless Recky, and God Bless America.
Our second national anthem! No matter how many times I hear this song I get that pit in my tummy and a little teary! I don’t care how divided my country is right now I will always be proud to be an American and will always appreciate the freedoms I have and the people who have always ensured that freedom stands! PROUD to be an American!
I love this song so much. It makes me cry because my dad was actually in the Marines and he died of cancer a few years ago.this song reminds me of him

Thank you for your kind words. I'm very American. My families, both maternally and paternally, have been in America since the 1600s. I'm very proud of our nation. We are still a work in progress (the operative word being "progress"), but with an amazing spirit at our core. Thank you, again.

This was written in response to the 9-11 attacks. Great reaction, as always!
Thank you Paula!
Thank you for your kind words. It was nice to hear this from someone outside our country!!!
Thank you for sharing!
Bless you Sir! Tobe Keith, may he rest in peace along side his dad, and singing for the Lord now! He was the cowboy/patriot who did a lot of good for our troops, and his music will be missed!
Thank you for your reaction! I remember when this song came out and how, as a patriotic American, it rang so true to the way that I felt! I still feel that way, and appreciate your words so much that I have hit the Subscribe button! I agree with the previous comments and welcome you as an honorary American!!!!!
Thank you Wendy. I will wear that title with honor.
Toby Keith write this song in reaction to the tragedies on 9/11. As an American, I remember feeling angry and hurt and this song really represents that. Great song. Thank you for reviewing.
Hey Recky, love your channel. As an American with ancestors from Norge, Sverige and Suomi I enjoy watching your perspective on American culture.

Thank you for recognizing our veterans contributions and sacrifices.
You're the only person I've heard of, who got it right when they said that we are protecting the whole free world I appreciate who you are man thank you for being you
Thank you, Recky for appreciating our country.
And that sir is exactly why we are happy to come to a theatre near you if you need us.🫡🇺🇸
Toby is my all time favorite. Thank you for doing this.
RIP TO THE LEGEND TOBY KEITH

Thank you Lyndon!
The phrase 'and the eagle will fly' has a whole new meaning for me. I just watched a video of an eagle fighting a full grown adult wolf, won, and flew off with it! The wing span of one blocked out the light in my car when flying over one day (I live in the country.)
