Hey guys! Welcome to my channel.
Noboribetsu Jigokudani is a hot spring resort located in Noboribetsu, Hokkaido.
It is called Jigokudani because of its fumaroles and steam that smells like sulfur, creating a view that resembles hell.
Jigokudani has numerous fumaroles and hot springs, and is dotted with ponds and streams containing hot spring water and mud. The most famous of these are Oyu Jigoku and Kannawa Jigoku.
Oyu Jigoku is a large pond 60 meters in diameter and 50 meters deep, with water temperatures as high as 78°C. The smell of sulfur is strong around the pond. The strong smell of sulfur and the rising steam around the pond make it look like a hell.
On the other hand, "Kannawa Jigoku" is a stream into which hot spring water with high iron content flows, and as its name suggests, the rocks are discolored reddish brown. There is also a footbath called "Shiratori-yu" in Jigokudani, where visitors can enjoy the scenery while soaking in the hot water.
Jigokudani offers beautiful scenery created by nature, such as various hot spring flowers and sulfur rocks. Goods using hot spring flowers and "Jigokudani Onsen Tamago (hot spring eggs)," a specialty of Jigokudani, are also available for sale, making it an enjoyable spot for tourists.
