Hi Matt. New subscriber to your channel. I grew up in Labrador City and the ski-doo was the machine back then. Love your content. I’m living on the island of Newfoundland now and not much snow. Love the vintage sleds. We also have a RUclips channel and I know the work it takes to put out content. Keep well and I’ll be watching. All the best…..Paul
Hi Paul! Thank you so much for the sub and the nice comment. I'm glad you are enjoying my videos! I checked out your channel and we definitely have some similar interests!! I have a couple vintage Honda projects that I would like to film eventually. You might get a kick out of those! Take care and stay tuned!
Love it, I'm a 70's 80,s kid I had a bubble nose a Olympic a tnt and a silver bullet, also an El Tigre , a 79' txl 340 and a saber jet, along w my favorite, a SNOW PONY
🎉🎉🎉fantastic🎉🎉 your humility and curiosity are refreshing! Thanks a lot…new subscriber. My first was a 72 Olympique one cylinder. It shook itself apart
In my defense, check out my 2021 video and see how biased I was with only skidoo coverage. I made an effort to cover more brands this year, but you are right, I jumped over the Zzzs pretty fast! Lol! Thanks for watching!
@@mattsws No, I don't know what it is, but I did sit on it and it was definitely a mcculloch kart engine. I'm pretty sure it was stamped MC-7 which is a 100cc's.
Just found your channel, was sent by Let's Fix Something! and I've been really enjoying everything you posted so far. I've got 2 Wankel Arctic Cats and recently acquired 72 Olympique 399e. I appreciated the second you took to look at that 300, it's really cool to see what a clean one looks like. Looking forward to this seasons sled content, especially vintage rides!
Well, I appreciate the reference and glad you enjoy my content!! I was actually going to cut that scene, but then I literally said to myself that I’m sure some guys are going to enjoy seeing such a nice survivor. Might remind them of a childhood family sled or something. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Take care!
I love that 440cc is big. Ohhhh.😲😲 Jacques Villeneuve is well known for formula and Indy car racing. This must be Canada. In the US the word you were looking for was more diverse machines. Ahh, French. I was right. I'm old and when the El Tigre came out I was in love. Like a snow Corvette. Was that a DWW reference? My neighbors had a blizzard, and and Elan and another 2 cylinder red one I didn't see in the video. The funny thing is the single cylinder Elan did 50+.
@@mattsws Thanks for replying. It fees futile commenting when you don't know if the OP is reading them. I understand it gets to a point where you can't comment or read them all. Was that "Good trade." comment a Dances with Wolves reference?
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I’m going to try and start the snowmobile tinkering a little earlier this year. Last year I didn’t get enough done before all the snow melted!
Nice work Matt! It’s hard to talk smart about particular sleds when it’s not your thing. Nice job tip toeing on that one. It’s cool you talked to some of these guys too. Tells a great story. Another quality video.
Yeah I’m used to just yapping away, but I found myself surrounded by machines I know virtually nothing about and I am well aware that the video will be watched by guys who know everything about them… I said what I knew and let the filming show the rest. Thanks for the comment! Take care!
@@mattsws I had the 92 Mach 1 X and the 93 Plus X. A lot of people stopped to talk especially about the black one. Many people would have never seen one as they only made 125. The only other one I have seen in person was one that Pat Shaffer brought to Rockburn several years ago. These were the first year for the 670, they had crankshaft issues and were recalled and replaced with a stock 93 670. I am fortunate to have the non recalled motor on hand. I was also fortunate to have had the sled signed by Wayne Nicholson a few years back, this would have been one of the models that he raced and had good things to say about. Thanks again.
@@peterl2017 Well it was a real pleasure to see the awesome X sleds you brought. I knew about the early 90's X sleds, but this was the first time I have seen them in person. Like I mentioned in my video, my only "new" sled I had every bought was a 1990 Mach 1 that was fitted with 1992 seat and hood. Basically it was a 1992 with a 583... I bought the sled when I was 18-19 years old and the sled was about 10 years old at that point. It was fun, but broke down literally every time I used it... I quickly went back to vintage machines!!! It was great speaking with you and I am glad you enjoyed the vid!! Take care!

Those are exactly the type of sleds we have in our club’s vintage runs! Thanks for watching!!
Back in the early 70's Polaris were called "Blue schoolbus",,,squared off and ugly
I can see why! Thanks for the comment!!
Great video !
I grew up with several sleds.
One of my favorite was an early 70s Mercury Hurricane. Was fast.
Thanks a lot! Gotta love fast sleds!!!
Find the Rupps! Love the video btw....I still have my 1974 Rupp Nitro II 440.
Really glad you enjoyed!!! Take care!!
Love to find another skiroule. Sold my 440Rtx in '95.....dumb move!
Thats how it always goes….
Matt- you featured a ski doo with opposed Rotax motor . that motor is 371CC and it is a Super Olympic
Yeah the 370 opposed is a 368cc Rotax. They were options in super Olys and Alpines from 67-69.
Shit! I had no idea! And I live like 50 minutes away in Rigaud! Subscribed buddy!
26th of August this year. Ormstown fairgrounds. Hope to see you there! Thanks for watching!!!
Hi Matt...I'm looking for vintage RV245..skidoo
I see a couple every year for sale. Price is usually between 4-6k…
I might have to make a trip over to Quebec if that event happens again next year.
Every 3rd Saturday of August!
excellent show and video work. As you travelled around filming I spotted a Roll-o- flex Wild One F/A made in regina , sk Great show
I will have to watch my own video again to see that !! Name rings a bell, maybe I subconsciously noticed it while filming... Take care!

Only 2 Polaris sleds? Where’s the Homelites?
Guess they weren't that popular in our area back then. You mainly see what was sold back in the days close by... Thanks for watching!

Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!!
Rode Skiroules from 1969-1995!!
Cool!
Have you seen any Suzuki snowmobile?
I think there was one at the show. You don’t see them to often.
Nice content man, nice to see all of these sleds restored back to their original beauty! Keep up with the good videos 👍
