Great trip. I was out today and heard there might be some Bonito out there. No luck besides a blue near the hot hole. It’s fun to see this so close to home!
I was just down at Holden Beach last week and am brand new, absolutely green when it comes to this type of fishing. I just bought a 23'4" hybrid bay boat and have it set up like yours with the Cannon rod holders. I have similar rods and reels and was running a Clarks spoon about 100' behind the boat on a #1 planer, 25' of 15# fluorocarbon. I was trolling 5.8-6.2 mph and got bit left and right, but never boated a fish. They would flop off before I could hand line them in like you are doing. I loved this setup but was really pretty frustrated that the fish would not stay on the line. Not sure what I was doing wrong. Plenty of fish and I did not have to troll far before I got bit, but I would have loved to have had someone on my boat to show what I was doing wrong. You make it look super easy and you were in no rush to boat the fish. I tried bringing them in slow and then as fast as I could, but they all would flop off before I could get them in. Great videos, love watching you catch these tasty things. Maybe next time
It sounds like you’re doing everything right to me Bob. Try buying a hook sharpening stone so those hooks will penetrate. It can make all the difference in the world having sharp hooks. Let me know if that solves or doesn’t solve the problem. I’m curious too.
Thanks for the video. Awesome as always. I was going to go this morning but i over slept. Its been a very busy week. I would like to ride down around lunch but afraid the water will be rough.
I’m using trolling sinkers. 1 oz. on one rod. 2 oz on the other. It’s very important to use ball bearing swivels and not barrel swivels. This will keep your line from spinning up onto your reel and catastrophe happening if you hang a monster.
Thanks for the reply I ordered cannon dual axis before you replied going to mount them on cannon gimbal mounts no more straining my back when a fish is on
My work schedule keeps me out of town and on the go. I go fishing whenever i can. It’s extremely difficult to know when i’ll be able to fish. Then when I’m able to fish the weather comes into play. I hope one day this will change because I would love to take you fishing.

Good stuff, Captain! You got into a good class of Spanish... and love the bonito!
Thank you. The Drone Spoons helps with eliminating most smaller bites.

I hope it’s not rough. On my way now. Good luck if you’re able to go
Great video keep on catching buddy!
Thank you. I work hard on these videos and it has made my day that you noticed.
@@garybfishing1309 Enjoyed it man keep on posting!
Thanks. I will post every chance I get. That pesky job of mine is getting in the way of my fishing.

What kind of sinker are you using? Awesome vids by the way

@@garybfishing1309 thanks my man!!! Love the vids, they help more than you know!!
What speed are you trolling at ?
4-6mph. If you start catching Bluefish then speed up just a little bit. Maybe 3-4 tenths of a mph. You won’t catch anymore bluefish.
What make are those rod holders?
Cannon. You can buy them on the Humminbird website

Yes. It keeps you from having to lean outside the boat in order to get the rod out of the rod holder
They look like false albacore but better tasting
I made a “ tuna salad “ out of this fish. It was great. Maybe I should’ve done a catch and cook video.
@@garybfishing1309 love tuna! Would you take a sub fishing lol?
