I look forward to going into your shop and spending $1,000 just to open the cards in your shop then selling them back to you for less than half of what I paid.
@@BSABD315 I'm genuinely excited. And the best part is I will come back a week later and buy it back from him at way more than I should be paying for it.
What would be really cool is if you make your own grading company that only does “live” walk-in grading in your store! Not only that, but customers get to see the grading process live step-by-step behind glass. So you can actually see your own card literally getting graded in front of you!
Would be cool but grading companies are so crooked that they don’t allow people to see the grading process ever so as much as I would want this and think it’s necessary, it’ll never happen
That fact that you guys are going to be pricing your cards 5 percent above comps and NOT NEGOTIATE AT all is rediculious. I can't believe you think people will buy your cards at those prices. The whole point of card shops is to get deals on cards not pay over comps for them. You guys are the only ones that do that.
The sheep that follow this joke of a “collector” will do whatever he wants. Look at Taylor Swift. I’m surprised Geoff’s not trying to bring her in to promote the shop because they sell out will do anything for money.
Really looking forward to seeing Geoff's shop this summer as we are planning a trip. Such an amazing idea. My daughter will empty out their pokemon and hero academia wax.
There are too many bad card shops that have too much junk inventory and too little fun/exciting/eye-appealing inventory. They charge products 15-20% above market price and when you try to trade with them, they lowball you with a 50% below market value. I think we need more bigger good quality card shows happening instead. I’m in the BayArea and the last big card show was 450+ tables. The bad thing about that is it only happens once every 3-4 months and is 60 miles from where I live. I’m sure a lot of people in the hobby can relate how inaccessible it is to go to a packed card show room nowadays.
Most I’ve gone to like Geoff’s are a bunch of snooty investors who have a shop more as a showcase to brag rather than actually sell anything. It’s like people that have classic car shops. They don’t want to sell anything, just give you this “I’m better than you attitude “ it’s because they are making up for things they lack in life.

I understand the theme was veterans that flew under the radar, but guys to watch are Bobby Witt Jr., and Anthony Volpe. True, the Royals will not be good, but Witt will be at least a 30/30 guy and at some point in his career, he will play for a contender. Corbin Carroll is already baked in, but I think there is room for Gunnar Henderson and Triston Casas as well.
I feel the junk wax Era or this Era might be the fall of some shops. If a card isn't numbered this day and age it's almost not worth money at all. I have 2 Patrick Mahomes rookie cards both psa 9s and they are worth $120. Yet my recent mahomes /200 psa 10 non rookie is worth $80 carry close to a rookie psa 9.

I love you guys (SCI crew) and have been watching the Spitballin Cards podcast since you guys started it but the disrespect for Judge is crazy (or may I say lack of love for). I think I've heard Judge's name only a couple times on all of the Spitballin videos combined. When MVP conversations are happening and his name doesn't get mentioned that's just crazy. Regardless if Ohtani is in his same league or not btw. He beat out Ohtani for the MVP in 2022. When you factor in the market he plays in, how good of an all around game he has, Ohtani not even in the AL anymore...he should probably be favored to win the MVP this year. Yordan is a great hitter in his own right but his defense doesn't come close to what Judge can do with defense. And imo Judge is the better hitter as well.
Me too, this feels like a talk show with your master Geoff and his guests. Plus hopefully they’ll cover the glass in the back so you can’t see the guys in the shop picking their nose when they think the camera is off.

Plus no mention of Juan Soto by the guy talking about the American League MVP??
