I first met him in a magic store. I'm in Ring #238, which is the one he was in until he died. He taught me many things about performing and I got to see him perform every month. In fact, the last person he performed for was my son.

vernonclassic I disagree. While his performance of Zone Zero, Linking Pins, etc. were all fantastic - he was a master of card magic. Some magicians didn't care for the sloppy way he handled the cards and that he didn't do any flourishes but he told me that was intentional. When he did his color change, it was a thing of beauty. I actually prefer other styles of card magic but it is not fair to say that his card work is "over rated." If you sat in his presence as often as I did and saw him perform two feet away then you might have a different opinion. :-)

The idea is to keep it simple for the spectator. To do it it was very complex for the magician. Perform his Sidewinder shift(I think that's what he called it)and you get the idea of what I call complex.. I never could master it, I saw few who could. I always thought he was not given enough credit for his simple Genius way of educating his audience to the wonder of the mind. Check out his glass frame bit. In all his work he all he wanted to do was to inspire his audience to wonder and to inspire magicians to create groundbreaking Magic.
Stretch your mind to see the possibilities and create them. That's what he did and now I see many others doing the same. Good work folks...Jerry wanted better magicians and better spectators. In the end its all about enjoying wonder in life and magic. Thanks Jerry.

I don't think his presentation is bad. It's wordier than I usually like but still very entertaining. Great magician.

Looks like late 70’s to me. But now that I am old I just can not remember.

@@gemstxextractor2493 I just realized that in this recording Jerry says that he's 80 years old. He was born in 1918, so that puts this performance around 1998.
