You are literally the best person to teach Spanish, I've studied for a while and have learnt a lot in just this one video, thank you, love the long videos
I am thoroughly enjoying listening to your beautiful voice as you explain many of the questions I have about the proper usage of words. I also appreciate your help with correct pronunciations. After a month of learning a lot of new words and putting some effort into my pronunciation, I was surprised at how little native speakers could understand me. Suffice it to say, I have become serious about pronunciation, because what good are words if no one can understand them?
I love the way you explain it's easy to understand ❤❤❤God blessed your yutube channel i hope you will make a lot of videos tutorial in learning Spanish language.😊

That's a great observation! It's interesting how language adapts over time, especially with the influence of surrounding languages. The shift from the traditional Yiddish phrase "What do people call you?" to the English-influenced "What is your name?" reflects the blending of cultures. The younger generations in Chassidic communities, especially in places like NYC, are growing up in a bilingual environment, which often leads to the adoption of more direct English structures. It's a fascinating example of how languages evolve based on social and cultural interactions.
Is it cumpulsory to show the accent symbol when writing? I can see that it's sometimes written and sometimes left out. Or are there any rules for that?
In Spanish, the use of diacritical marks, such as accents, is essential in certain cases. For example: 1. **Accents**: They are used in words that require a specific stress, like "camión" (truck) and "caminos" (roads). 2. **Distinguishing words**: Accents help differentiate words that may be similar in writing but have different meanings, such as "sí" (yes) and "si" (if). However, there are some exceptions in usage. In informal texts or among speakers, diacritical marks may sometimes be omitted, but in formal or literary writing, it is preferred to follow the rules. Therefore, it is always advisable to use accent marks to ensure clarity of meaning and correctness of the language.
Having listened to many Spanish speakers for several years, 'e' and 'o' are not always pronounced only the one way that you state - eg, 'con' is pronounced 'khawn', not 'cone', & 'llegar' pronounced 'yeah-gar'. not 'yay-gar'. They are pronounced the way you state when placed at the end of a word, but not usually elsewhere. Even formal text books make this mistake for some reason. Or maybe my hearing is the problem?

“What do people call you?” Is the correct way in Yiddish, but the Chassidic kids in the NYC ask “what is your name?” Because of the English influence.
