    I couldn’t find any other videos quickly explaining this that didn’t have an entire history lesson packed in! Thank you so much! You satisfied my curiosity!

    This IS a great tutorial. It sticks to the title of the video "Easy". For those of us still learning, it shows the principles clearly and simply. Don't mind those Trolls who've being doing it for eighteen years, blah blah. Clearly they didn't actually read the title and just needed to blow their own trumpet. Thanks again for making this video.

    Ååå, tusen takk!!
    I kept looking, but most of the tutorials were a bit too advanced, or had this wooden structure in it that I don't have. I was literally just looking for a tutorial like yours! Thank you so much for this video, and for making it so down to earth.
    Also, your kantele playing is so soothing to have in the background.^^

    Where can we find the music that you played on the video?

    • @lacrymastory
      @lacrymastory  Год назад +1

      The original song is an old hymn ”Varjele Vakainen Luoja”. The version in my video is just me playing it on my 5-string kantele!

    what happens if you run out of yarn on your shuttle? do you just rethread a new one like you would when starting off from the beginning?

    • @lacrymastory
      @lacrymastory  Год назад +1

      Yes! The ending that accidentally got cut off during filming included a method that I learned from this video, which shows how to finish the project once it has reached the desired length. This can also be used to lock the yarn in place before and after feeding new yarn. ruclips.net/video/vz5o1X0pDeE/видео.html

    What are the clips you use on the ends? I have seen a few videos with those clips now

    • @lacrymastory
      @lacrymastory  Год назад

      Do you mean the aglets at the end of the braids? Those I made by wrapping thin wire around round nose pliers. If you mean the plastic clip that I used to hold the yarn while weaving, that's a bag sealing clip from Ikea!

    Wow you call that great your Tablet Weaving with 8 four-holes-tablet-cards (with the holes in the four edges), that's incredibly ordinary and simple, so I started weaving tablets 18 years ago, I am tablet weaving since 2005, 2005 I startet as an apprentice and now in 2023 I am "a great master of tablet weaving", with 108 four-holes-tablet-cards and 52 six-holes-tablet-cards with crochet yarn,
    my first pattern "pocket knots" I am working with 52 x 6 = 312 crochet yarn threads: in one of my six-holes-tablet-cards I have: black, black, red, red, blue, blue, in the weaving pattern I have (52 x) 80 weaving lines for red "pocket knots" and I habe 52 x 80 weaving lines for the blue "pocket knots", all the threads I make three Meters long.
    my second pattern "Rhombus" I am working with 54 x 6 = 324 crochet yarn threads: in one of my six-holes-tablet-cards I have: white, white, white, dark blue, cornflower blue, dark blue, in the weaving pattern I have (54 x) 28 weaving lines for middleaged Rhombus pattern, all the threads I make three Meters long.
    my third pattern I make a pattern from Marijke van Epen "The Unknown Tablet Weaving" with 108 (10 threads are the left edge, 88 threads are the pattern, 10 threads are the right edge) x 4 (the four holes are not in the four edges, but in the middle of the weaving cards) = 432 crochet yarn threads: in one of my speziel-four-holes-weaving-cards I habe red, yellow, green, blue, in the pattern I have (108 x) 48 weaving lines for an very old pattern from Marijke van Epen "The Unknown Tablet Weaving"
    my three projects do not consist of simple four times forwards, four times backwards, but of weaving cards turned individually forwards, individually turned backwards, a very fine pattern, consisting of individually high-resolution patterns, between your 8 weaving tablets and my 108 weaving tablets is like night and day.

      Three subscribers, no demonstration of your grand skill, obnoxious and superior attitude.
      Bet you're fun at parties.
      You're certainly a great representative of the masters you apprenticed under.

      So just because you have an advanced knowledge of a subject you think that gives you the right to come on to an educational video meant to get people started on a craft so you can flex how great you are? You're fuckin pathetic.
