Jon Stewart did indeed say that and he was right. While understandable during/after 9/11, the 24 hour news circle is just ridiculous now. There's simply not enough happening so they just manufacture drama, manipulate or exaggerate stories and the worst, always pretend that there's "two sides to every story", even when there isn't. They will have 2 guests on, one from "each side" and just let them yell at each other, not fact checking or anything. That is not news, it's pointless. Which Stewart famously told Tucker Carlson when he was on his show; which C. wasn't happy about at all. I don't think he every got over that.

Germany is another bubble. You don’t have to live in Europe to meet people that think differently. I travel to Europe all the time for work…. There is plenty of diversity of thought in the States. Europeans tend to conform to the societal norms without much resistance, hence it is another type of bubble over there. Nothing wrong with liking Europe though but don’t pretend that it is something that it is not.

You travel Europe all the time but you know the diversity of thought in the States...? Do you realize how stupid you sound?

Dude is full of crap, OR, incredibly naive. You don't need to go to Germany to understand the dynamics of Texas , oil, fracking, money, and the "American" work "ethic" . Also his all or nothing comments on anything not conservative is communist is BS . Literally millions of people in Texas understand the pros and cons of the oil industry, the conservative party etc. Again dude is full of it.

You clearly can't listen. He never said you had to go to Germany and do it his way. He visited another culture outside of his own and saw a different way of doing things. Yes, most conservatives believe that anything that is opposed to conservatism is evil and communist, this mentality has been pushed since Reagan. Yes, people in Texas may understand the pros and cons, but that's the kicker isn't it? They know how bad the cons are but proceed to do it anyway.
      Please go back to school.

I took a left at Albuquerque... or Eberstadt (can't remember which). Germany and America would be wise to provide every citizen with the best education and healthcare available on the planet. How you get there is a matter of process, but both healthcare and education are essential for a strong, healthy nation. Also, Binding Bier is better than anything that could be fricked or fracked.
