Tritypes brought me home. I am stunned how many Ennegram video mentors disregard this gem. I studied tritypes and thought myself a 5-8-4 sp. Took her (Katherine Fauvre's) tritype test (free) and it took me home to 5-8-2...BINGO! Never thought myself a 2 but as soon as I saw the test results I knew. Never actually was comfortable with 4 but "settled" for it. But I am def. a 5-8-2...and her tests also point to the instincts very accuratey. She is an expert Enneagramist and Trityper...active since the early 90's. On YT.

This is great! You should interview Katherine! You got it! Katherine Chernick Fauvre's descriptions of Tritype are more profound and quite logical. I really praise her work because her tips actually work with clients. She is the one who created Tritype when she found consistent patterns. She has many years of research and found 3Types, aka Tritype, two years before Ichazo found Trifix. She was exploring how the types saw themselves. Here's the thing: her test can detect the hard-to-type 6 and the equally hard-to-type 9 that identify with other types before finally landing on their type. I have all my clients take her test.
I learned to listen to her tips and pay attention to the blend of the three types. It is easy to miss a type. I did. I missed the 6 in my Tritype. Finding it was a game-changer. Katherine's 1994 research made all of this possible. She said she interviewed everyone she could and then noticed that people had the core fears, idealized images, and defense strategies of three types, not just one. What were the odds, right?! Back in the 80s, nothing was taught or written in a book on how the types described their inner experience. Who knew! Katherine Chernick says that when someone makes a mistake in their Tritype, it is because they are going for types they identify with, think they should be, or have become, which are behaviors, not motivations. She stresses going for the nagging irritations, the hidden idealized images, secret fears, and most of all, those troublesome reactions that defend your reality.
BTW her 2-hour advanced Tritype individual archetype videos with a 1.5-hour introduction video are finally HERE! More humbled...but still an 846. I have watched it three times. They are arriving every day at www.katherinefauvre.com/products

The reason there‘s not a lot of info about tritypes out there is because Katherine Fauvre, the person who came up with them, trademarked them and so other people aren’t allowed to write about them without her permission. But if you’re interested in more about them, I recommend watching her RUclips videos or maybe buying one of her PDFs. She‘s the best enneagram teacher I‘ve ever stumbled across, even if it‘s a bit annoying to me how gated her tritype theory is. But she does so much research, is constantly updating her books and everything with each new thing she learns. She‘s not shy to correct her mistakes and she truly has a vast knowledge of people through the work she does.

I'm a 5-8-4 Scholar Archetype (finally nailed down my dominant type as probably 5 by looking at both 4s and 5s under stress and seeing that my underlying motivations were way more in-line with 5s or even 8s over that of 4s). I was also talking to another friend of mine about the Enneagram and he's a 496 tritype and both of us, when we were trying to nail down our types, ended up with 1 in each of the triads (fear/shame/anger). @gooddaygene8355 Год назад

Cool, I'm 684 sx/so myself. A very tricky thing to understand is that a 6 boes not scare in the traditional sense. Fear is typically present in all people, all types. That isn't what a 6's calling card is. It is having anxiety about having anxiety.
Meaning, if I am unsure (have anxiety) about something that would have triggered even more anxiety and that would drive me to face that initial source of anxiety. That looks rather aggressive.
But that gets into defense mechanisms which is really how a center of intelligence uses emotions as fuel for its specific type of action/purpose (which to me is as important to Enneagram as Cognitive Functions are to Typology.)

those that you've mentioned 714 (any combination) actually have triad names, just like you said these three are frustration types - triple frustration, or 258 - triple rejection, and different combinations are named differently, can be double frustration or double rejection too!
i think tritypes are very helpful, though they can also make people quite confused too. you can understand why people have hard time typing themselves, because their fixes (numbers besides the core type) can be quite strong. also, each number just shows how you deal with your anxiety, image and anger, i'd say. for some people, they're less concerned with their image, so their heart/image fix is mostly the last one. i really like tritypes, and yes, just like you've said they're "deeper level", and you can learn so much more from them, and can even understand why your core type looks different from others to some extent too. subtypes do that too, of course, but tritypes definitely take it to another level, because for example, social 4 with 469 vs 479 tritypes are gonna be so different, first one is likely to be more anxious and doubtful (triple anxious), while second is likely to be a little more positive (double positive).

Tritype is useful for people who don’t feel adequately/completely described by one type or wing. Not everyone has that problem. I typed someone who had high scores in two numbers, but her scores in the other seven were all pretty weak. She had 6 points in type 1, 5 points in type 8, and 2 points in type 9. So for her, just having two types was enough. Her second type couldn’t be her wing according to the theory though because it wasn’t right next to her primary type. I think a flaw with enneagram is the insistence on having the wing right next to the primary. and it’s another flaw that tritype numbers have to be from the head, heart, and gut regions. What if someone’s highest scores are all head types? That should be allowed but isn’t according to someone’s theory. (I happen to be a 415, 4w5. But if I had it my way, I’d say I’m a 4w1 because I’m more like a 1 than a 5.)

Tritypes are a lot better than wings and instincts.

Tritypes also have wings included, you got to be deeper instead of being shallow.

My husband is an infj '
I can't define him exactly.he is type 8 as dominant type.he is 4.he is 3 .hé is 9.what lm sure about is that hé is thé strong empath hayoka.

Infj is very unlikely to be type 8. They can look like it due to upbringing.
Only estp , esfp and rarely entjs can be 8.

@MsAliensex Any type can be a Personality type but the infj is rare as an 8. If they are 8s they seem extroverted. Does he?
