My worst in law story was when his mother offered multiple times to pay for my pregnancy to cancel. And then had the nerve to demand to see my son all the time after he was born.

I remember that last story... she replied to some comments and it only made her sound more evil. It wasn't just that "oh, she died after they had lunch". No, they were walking to their cars, she collapsed and DIED IN HIS ARMS. He was forced to watch the life drain from his best friend's eyes, as he looked on helplessly. And the wife expected him to "be over it" in a few days. I cried for MONTHS at the loss of my pupper. Her 1 year passing was just last week and I still cry from time to time. If my best friend died, let alone in my arms, I think I would be beside myself for the rest of my natural life. That is not something you 'just get over'.
Also, I feel like she was looking at the funeral as an "If he goes, she wins" thing, which is ridiculous. Funerals are for the living, not the dead. She isn't winning anything by being dead, and OP needs professional help.

I’ve found that anytime a mother is involved in relationships, it never ends well. No matter what the topic. Especially if the person is venting to the mother about their relationship. It’s just betrayal when mom is involved behind the scenes.

I totally get how that could feel like a betrayal but you need someone you can trust to talk about things outside of the relationship and for a lot of people that’s a parent or sibling, if it hadn’t been for my mum I would have let my ex talk me into moving country to isolate me from my family despite the fact she was physically abusive.
My ex wanted to name our son Nesta because it's Bob Marley's middle name. I told him no just because it sounded like a girl's name & it's just a stupid name in my opinion. Months later, Gwen Stefani named her baby Zuma Nesta and of course he was like, "See!! It's not a dumb name"! I told him she could get away with naming her kid Nesta because she was a celebrity. We finally agreed on Lennon & I really do like that name. He just turned 15 on October 15th. ❤️

First story, she is completely justified for not going on the trip. If she let him get away with going behind her back and inviting his mother, he would learn that it's okay for him to lie to her face and keep secrets from her. It is wrong to completely change a trip at the last moment and then expect the person to go through with it using the pressure of "You have to say yes or else you'll ruin the whole trip."
I would have moved all his stuff to her house while they were gone and changed the damn locks. If you need mom on our vacation you can live with mom🤷♀️

This video couldn’t have come at a better time. Me and my husband just decided to move states because his mother can’t respect boundaries and gaslights us. Grateful that my husband has the balls to realize it.
I don't know but after being married for 27 years and now divorced...she was like a shit stain even after we moved out of state in my case. Once a momma's boy, always a momma's boy! And ever since I gave birth to my son 24 years ago, she literally relived having a son for herself all over again and has always been the king of her world. I'm so glad she's out of my life!

I bought my husband a memorial glass plaq with her picture when she died. He spoke so highly of her and a lot bc she was a good girl who encouraged him to be a good guy, try in school, and stop drugs. He walked away from the gang life bc of her.
She helped him yearn for a good life as a good man. Of course, I wanted him to go to his ex-girlfriend's funeral, but we just moved overseas to Italy, and money doesn't exist for government employees, let alone soldiers. So he couldn't make it.
I also get along with both of his ex-wives.....maybe I just desire a mature relationship with my husband instead of living in strife, bitterness, resentment, and spite.

The worst relationship problem recently for me was when I left my sandwich alone while I went to get water, came back took a bite, then looked down and found a ton of cat hair. Apparently my cat had come in, LAID DOWN ON MY SANDWICH AND LEFT while I was getting water. I was coughing and gagging for several minutes and even now a few days later I keep thinking I can feel cat hair in my throat. Oh btw I'm a single cat lady, just in case you couldn't tell. But I rather that than any of these relationships.
I guess the good part of having dogs that will eat anything unattended is that I don't have to worry about the cats touching it. lol

The story of Funeral, is something I have seen happen in real life. The logical mind would say, she is dead, go to the funeral and never worry about her. The emotional side is: "after all these years competing with this person, she is going to win?!? Oh hell no! I'm making them choose me over them one final time!" I am 41 and my husband is 39 and while we have successfully conceived in the past due to our age we are doing a round of fertility drugs. It is not a subject that people think is funny at all. That wife with the husband who lost his best friend? Is disgusting. This hit home for me because my oldest son, 13, his dad and I broke up in 2012. He was my absolute best friend (but of course there were boundaries & never ever made our current significant others uncomfortable in ANY manner). My sons daddy passed away a year ago .. I planned his funeral... I was at their house every day making sure his mom and step-dad ate, had a clean house. Walked the dogs. Took care of whatever while they mourned and I also needed to be there for my own feelings. My husband stayed home with our little son (3 yrs old) and my husband understood. There's a memoriam "bookmark" hanging on my rear view mirror ... I put the poem in there... I chose the pics .. I did everything and I'll NEVER take it off.
That woman is a phucken demon (the current wife). Sorry not sorry. May she rest in peace.

@spaghettisploitation1029 I think you misunderstood the situation. I can't speak for this man, but he clearly had a close relationship w/ his ex... in my situation, I had a son w/ my ex. My husband always knew what it was, he also has a son with his ex & understands having to communicate daily for the best interest of the child. I was always closer to my ex than he with his, but he knows I would have never ever crossed boundaries & I never neglected my husband or family. His funeral... my husband understood, our son was getting over covid and he needed to stay home w/ our youngest. I have never and would never disrespect my husband in any manner and even when my ex was alive, they themselves got along very very well. There are boundaries without a doubt and jealousy shouldn't exist when there's honesty ...
the last one really hit for me. My ex had a twin brother that I knew before we dated and got really close with while we where together while going on their family trips and such. I'm extremely vocal that I go to my exs house all the time because they still live together but dont associate with her as her brother is my friend and we are merely civil at this point. If something where to happen to him and I couldn't go to his funeral because she might be there would absolutely make me burn it all to the ground. That last story cannot be real.

He was her best man and she was at my child's birth and we are having dinner with them next week. While I understand that everybody's not going to be as cool as I am, this lady made it to the end of their friendship and then decided to blow up her marriage regardless😂😂🎉🎉🎉

My family has a pretty dark sense of humor. When my grandma (Dad's side) passed, it was a room of about a dozen people standing in silence around my grandma, quietly taking turns muttering jokes that would absolutely horrify people if I typed them out. I was probably 18 when I realized that most people/families are not like this.
That whole side of the family has this tradition of ritual humiliation when we go hunting that if you miss a shot, everyone gathers in a circle after dinner to insult and make fun of you while the worst shot in camp gets on their knees and is presented with the knife that was used to field dress the biggest deer of the previous season (imagine a sword being given to a knight) and that person proceedes to cut the tail of your shirt off. Your shirt tail is then signed and dated and then sewn onto a quilt made of shirt tails. 45 years, this tradition has been carried on. We pretty much all have a shirt that has a front, sleeves, and nothing but a collar on the back. Everyone has a camp name that is generally rude in nature and you don't even know the actual names of some of the family.

Relationships are definitely hard. I recently had to break off an engagement because my ex just became a person I no longer was in love with and someone I no longer recognized. Things are difficult but I’m managing through as best as I can!

That first one....My ex mother in law was like this. Horrible situation. He would never stick up for me and was too afraid to stand up to her and when i would stand up for myself he would get mad at me. Needless to say the marriage didn't last.

I had to live with my mother in law bc my husband had deployed. She used to barge in the room I was staying in. Didn't matter what I was doing. One evening, I had showered and was drying off and changing into my pj's. She barged in and I was buck naked. She just stared me up and down, and said "here's your mail". Eeeeeeck! 😂😂😢🤢
I had my second daughter and she looked identical to my husband. We had a name that we heard when I was 4 months pregnant and both thought it was perfect. Valerie Angeline. But a member of my husbands family was convinced her name she be Emily because that's close to my husband's name. She kept asking how long we had to change her name for free. I didn't care cause I was happy with her name. Every time we were around her that's was her only topic. She even called the state to see how long we have . It's 6 month by the way. We never changed it and yes she bought a dog and named her Emily. Britney Breanne was another option but we chose Valerie. My husband's Dad liked that one. So he too got a dog and named it Britney. Hahaha. Maybe I should start a business where I make names good for babies or dogs.

I have four kids, and my wife and I had a veto system where either one of us could shut down a name suggestion. No name got through unless we both agreed on it. Our third daughter is named Freya. I suggested and she wasn't sure about it, but didn't veto it. We sat with it for a while, and eventually it stuck.
Did you notice how the wife did not bring up the name Mune thru the entire relationship until it was time. She did this knowing any man who would hear the name Mune for a son would jump up and run, not walk, but run as far away as possible. If my last name was Balls I would name my son Hefty with the middle name low.

That last one, assuming it’s real, sounds like she might genuinely be a sociopath. She seems to be totally disconnected emotionally from anything that doesn’t directly involve her. She put up with the friendship (which based on the fact that there were no details that I would describe as romantically intimate and everyone but her seemed to be cool about it, I do believe they were just friends) because it was a prerequisite for the relationship, but with the friend now dead it’s like she just ticked off a box of things she no longer has to care about. She doesn’t want him to go to the funeral because, in her mind, it’s like a chore has just been completed and he’s still trying to do it. Why do you need to go stare at the dresser when we’ve already folded and put away the laundry? Why do you need to go and stare at her casket when she’s already out of the equation? It’s all the same, because she can’t care about anything that isn’t about her wants and needs.

I had an ex with the emotional incest mother and it was awful. I had recently dyed my hair dark brown, maybe a month later I saw her and she had dyed her hair dark brown and cut bangs, I had bangs at the time.
