I'm getting my left shoulder replaced in a month because of a work place injury suffered almost a year ago this coming August ,its been rough to say the least , pt , two shots , nothing helped at all ,this is my last option for releaf of the pain and not being able to use my arm !
My surgeon did a surgery that had no chance on working . I had ruptured rotator cuff a fractured glenoid and this dumb ass did a hemiarthoplasty now I have to get the reverse
I'm continuing light weights at the gym, some band work albiet sporadic. Since I'm ambidextrous, I took up pickleball with my R side (Replacement is to L Shoulder) and just began initiating 2 handed backhand topspin dinks without any movement issues. I have accidentally braced my body with the L arm to ground a couple times in the heat of the battle lunging forward and had no problems. I know I can do push ups, but don't, rather I concentrate on building the traps and deltoids with machines at the gym. Overall, I'd say my movement is good, strength is fair, and I sleep on it occasionally for spells during the night. I do put a pillow under it for cushion. If you are out of options, this is the last shot shoulder replacement surgery, so zi can't afford to crash on it while skiing or mtn biking, both activities have suffered since my replacement 15 months ago, but I did find Pickleball, and its a blast. All the best to you, and be very careful the 1st 2 weeks. I slept pillow wedged in a recliner for 2 months, that was crucial for minimizing nighttime movement.
I am afraid the sound is so bad I could not listen to the full tape. I am being recommended for either replacement or a possible Stem Cell Treatment for my right shoulder. I will look again but the sound is impossible.
Are activities like bowling or kayaking allowed following a reverse shoulder replacement?if there are any parts of the rotator cuff worth salvaging, do you do that during surgery?
I'm 48 and in very good shape. I broke my acromion in 2018 (very strange brake falling backwards of bike and humorous jamming the acromion causing brake). I had a labrum repair on same shoulder in Feb 2020. On Monday (5/22/23) had a TRSR. My arthritis scale was 4/4 on that shoulder and is 3/4 on the other. The surgery was put off due to age but, last visit to Ortho x-ray showed putting off was no longer an option. My question is how long will it be before the 3/4 shoulder will need a replacement? Also, since that one was not broke like the other would the Anatomic make more sense or is the reverse still the way to go? Also, I'm in good shape because of weight lifting and activity level. If I have two replaced shoulders how dramatically will that affect my weight lifting and running, biking etc...?
If you do closed caption you can read the whole script which is what I did, I have two bad shoulders and this was so informative

The best information I have found so far.
Appreciate the video but the audio is pretty mangled.

Excellent explanation!!!! Thank you

What if you have had breast cancer and lymph nodes removed and radiation and chemotherapy on that arm does this comprise the procedure?
I'm 13 weeks post op TRSA and would like to view your video as I have viewed dozens of others, but the audio is terrible. Thanks anyway.
I'm booked for reversed total shoulder replacement...curious how ur doing after a year...would love any tips

Sound quality is awful…makes it so rad to listen too
Poor sound quality, wondering if the surgeon is aware of it!!!!!
Can you do any kind of weight lifting (within reason) after proper therapy and recovery?

Terrible audio is distracting unfortunately. You should check technical quality of your videos before you post!
