The Airbus A310 was designed to compete against the Boeing 767. Both aircraft designs were produced around the same time. The 767 first flew in 1981, with the A310 making its maiden flight the following year.
Agree. I know several pilots who actually find it insulting. Its their job to land planes safely. They didn`t just pull of magic trick completely by luck that they need applause and whoops like they just pulled a rabbit out of the hat!
i agree!!! i mean, i have never understood the cheesiness of this action! u want to show your gratitude/appreciaton to the Flight Crew, a kind comment on the comment card or when exiting the aircraft, if a member of the Flight Crew is at the door, then tell them u appreciated them. But clapping ????
